I would like to start by saying that this is not our first stay at Glavas but it will be our last. 
We were considered to be friends of Yiannis and Denis and we booked this direct with Dennis as they no longer use operators which is a shame as we had no-one we could complain to. The rooms, pool and location are great provided there is some service and the warning signs had been there on our previous stay at Glavas.
The first 5 days were spent staying under the noisiest bunch of inconsiderate people you could get returning at all hours of the morning an making as much noise as they possibly could, though obviosly this is not the fault of Denis or Yiannis. But this was only the start...
On day 5 the 3 rooms above us all left which was great as we had the whole block to ourselves, in fact we had the whole place to ourselves as they basically shut up shop.
We had no pool as from day 2 it was never cleaned and turned a lovely shade of green/black before Yiannis came during the day in the 2nd week and emptied it.
The room was only cleaned twice in the entire fortnight, fine if you don't mind emptying your own toilet bins, doing the mopping etc. The balcony was disgusting and never cleaned. It was a good job I discovered where the linen cupboard key was so we could get clean towels and linen. 
Apart from the first day we arrived the bar was never open during the day for drink and food and was never opened in an evening.
The place was a disgrace, dirty, rubbish everywhere, grass overgrowing.
Then to top all this we went for a walk down into Tsilivi and on our return discovered we had no electricity, when we eventually tracked someone down to sort the problem it turned out that the electric company had shut it off for non payment of bills. 
This was the final straw and I kicked off, Yiannis was apologetic when I complained about all of these things but Dennis wasn't in any way and simply made excuses up, at the end of the day this wasn't good enough as we had paid a good amount for this accommodation and feel he betrayed our trust and alledged friendship. Dennis promised that the room would be cleaned every 3rd day but this never happened either and never saw him again after this point (day 10), in fact we only saw him twice during the whole holiday.
Apart from the very few visits by Yiannis during the day for an hour stripping bark off the palm trees and emptying the pool (really useful) we were totally left on our own, which in some ways was good, provided we had the basics which we didn't.
On our previous stay here and when we used the pool during our stay across the road at The Balcony Hotel the service was very hit and miss even then so the warning signs were there, but not to this extent.
If you are thinking of staying here I would suggest thinking again I'm sorry to say! |

dennis and yanny are legends my second time at tsilivi firet time at glavas very basic but clean. great atmosphere and two top men had a good laugh will go back. |

| To whoever was out at the ionis ayra with myself n steve my husband and my 2 children Josh n Jamie, this comment goes without saying.. We had a fantastic holiday with many thanks to Yannis n Dennis 4 putting up with my 2 horrors!! although the accommadation maybe basic the warm and friendly service you receive from this family is second to none, great island great food yes the trek up the hill is no picnic, recommend hiring a car the island is Fab.. to Yannis a special Hello 2 My favourite GIGALO .... |

| Hi i am looking at a holiday at the Ionis Ayra appartments on the outskirts of Tsilivi i cannot find it on the internet is it the same place as Ionanis Avra. It is on the outskirts up a hillside if so what is it like? |

We came to Zante in September and it was really hot. The studios where basic but really clean. The staff there where so friendly, but becareful always where your bikini by the pool because you will go swimming. Dennis and Yannis are fantastic they looked after us really well (know what i mean). They have 7 parrots which are young and they are teaching them to speak. Gary was taching them bad words so be ware. The prices are reasonable coz the service is excelant and very friendly. For any one interested i have found out contact details to book direct with them next year because i had problems booking through a company. They have new e-mail address it is Glavas@hotmail.com

no, we loved it!
the best two weeks of our life and would give anything to be back there!

goldensun are a great company, depending on the rep, giorgio was brill, sam was a minger! she's got the biggest teeth, flirts with anyone "yannis, wheres my vodka?" and sends nice people to s**t islands! b***h.
the greek nights are the best ever!!!!! the dancers are very sexy, one in particular (costas) so hands off! put a bikini on under ur clothes cos ur gonna get chucked in the pool, n dont put a short skirt on cos u'll get spun round.
although it wasnt that quiet, u dont want it to be! otherwise go to a caravan site! plently of all nighters, in fact the whole holiday was one very long drunken night!! try not to get into yannis car when he's been drinking, otherwise watch out for the cliffs, 's**t'.
beware of the cleaner, she is a psycho! she talks random greek, complains about the mess (and the jelly) grabs peoples hair, and expects you to understand her!
yannis will make a drink up for you any way you want it and give it a cool name especially for you! arrr.
zante is a lovely place, plenty to see and do
we miss it!!!!!!!!!!!

| A little off the beaten track for me, the hike back up the hill every night was just a little to much, up hill and very dark! However the accomodation itself, although very basic and typically greek was clean and well kept. A family run complex, the staff were extremly friendly, sometimes a little too friendly (lock up your daughters when Yannis is around), the food was very good and the drinks very reasonable, we would recomend the greek night, really good fun and excellent food, but be prepared to get very wet! All in all my boyfriend and i really enjoyed our weeks stay, but wouldn't recomend to people with walking difficulties. |

| Hi, fair enough people are always going to find something to complain about on their holiday, but I'm not going to! As I have nothing to complain about! The apartment was lovely and so was the pool and the location. I only went for a week with my friend but wish I'd gone for two. The people are so friendly! Especially Yiannis and Dennis! Drink the cocktails at the bar because they are great! I reccommend a holiday here to both families couples and friends! As there is something for everyone! Maybe not for realy lively, wild clubbers but people looking for a fun yet relaxing time! Thankyou to Glavas Studios for a great holiday! Caroline (19yrs) 22/09/03 |

hi all (august 17-31st 2003)
tsilivi n august was the first holday away with my friends and i couldn't have asked for a better place to go!!!
the staff are really really nice, hey to yannis (you look like action man phwoar!), yannis and dennis, and a big thankyou! the people staying in the apartments were all really great and many of them had stayed in glavas before, but loved it so much they came back - understandable!
it is clean, the pool is a decent size, the food is good and the drinks may seem expensive but when u realise how much you are getting
for your money it is definitely worth it!!!
thanks again to yannis for the frequent free sambucas!!
my only complaint would be our goldensun rep sam - not always in a good mood and we heard her using a very unhelpful tone to some dissatisfied customers. goldensun excursions can be beaten by half the price by tour operators in town, something we realised too late, but they are definitely worth going on!! especially the boat trips. thanks to giorgio, our rep for a bit for all his help (x)
all n all a holiday to remember and one that makes me sad to be back home, yamas!!! |

Laganas is the place to see the turtles.
There were plenty boat trips when we there. Check what time of year the turtles are there....I am sure I read it was only May/June...beacuse that is when they are nesting. |

Returned last Sunday night from Glavas after a wonderful two
week holiday.
We were fortunate to be staying in the apartment block (room 31)
which had far better views than the studios and by the sound of it
was a lot more spacious and modern. There was some noise
from the bar on some nights but we were only really disturbed
after "Greek Night" (every Thursday) when the locals carried on
chatting until 3.30am. The cleaner turned up often and looked
like she was doing a lot but in reality just pushed a mop around.
The floor was consistently dirty to walk on barefooted. The
bathroom was nice and modern compared with other Greek
apartments that we have stayed in. The kitchenette was poorly
equipped, though, which forced us to eat out every night (couldn't
even find a sharp knife).
The pool is nice but does get used by people that aren't staying
at Glavas - sometimes it turned into a bit of a waterpark for the
locals but there was always plenty of sunloungers.
We enjoyed the walk down to the town but wouldn't recommend
it for the elderly or unfit as the resort is 1km away and down a
fairly steep hill. The upside is that Glavas enjoys spectacular
views of the sea.
Tried local beach twice but got sandblasted on both occasions
due to the high winds. When we hired a car, found lovely
beaches (Porto Zoro & Keri Bay).
Favourite bars: Canditta's (south) and Level Bar/Ozzys (north).
Favourite restaurants: Olive Tree (good food but not cheapest)
and Calypso (cheap and wide menu selection).
Overall we throughly enjoyed our time at Glavas and would
recommend it for families and couples inparticular.
