I cana big this hotel up enough 12 lads from shrewsbury arrived on 11th june for a week and had the best time ever
 'GEORGE' is a diamond geezer who let us get away with murder...including shaving two blokes heads when they were ko'd at night...oops!!
 This hotel is so layed back and is the perfect place to stay for a young group of people
 BUT...the worst part is having to leave...its gutting!
 Anyway i recommend this as the best place to stay on the island and many reps agreed to so get booked into here a.s.a.p cos i can guarantee it will make your holiday twice as good!

Only just found this site, 7 of us from London/Essex stayed in the Gioie from 25th August until 1st September 2006 & what a week it was. I can see nearly everyone has praised George & 'Stan', I always thought it was 'Stam' personally, but they are both legends!!! Anyone remember Spiros? The Greek manager guy who could not speak a word of English??? My mate asked him if he wanted a fag but Spiros did not have a clue what he was saying so my mate put his hand in his pocket to get his fags out & he only pulled out a condom by mistake... I bet that got Spiros worried!!! The 7 of us were the 2 Billys, Ryan, Mon, Aimee, Jenny & Jayd, if anyone remembers us or if anyone is going next August email me at lockhart84@hotmail.com
Anyway we had such a great time, George allowed us to play our music all day long, tried to kill us with his drinks (4-5 shorts in each drink) & his cocktails were great!!!
I even flew down the flight of stairs in the hotel towards the end, blood everywhere & everyone came to see I was ok but I was on another planet & the next day I looked & felt like I had been in a big pub brawl. Everyone gets on with everyone you just have such a great time! we will be back next year around the same time I think & back at the Gioie for sure!!!

We stayed in the gioie 2 weeks ago it was great!!! we saw those boys from Cambridge breaking the fishbowl record WELL DONE U LOT!! Stan is a legend!! Missing it allready. | ||||||||||

| Highly recommended!!! 14 of us lads have only just got back from a week in lagana and it we loved it. We don't care too much how good any other hotels may be, because George and Stan, the day and night staff, are absolute legends and we couldn't have been more welcome anywhere else. Top geezers, friendly and incredibly tolerant in any situation and don't mind being thrown in the pool but you have to be crafty to get them in  You couldn't get any better location, the hotel is set back from the main strip directly opposite McDonalds and 20 yards from KFC, obviously you won't eat too healthy whilst there  Not as packed as the hotel next door to it as it doesn't have as many rooms, but still plays music loud all day and yet is still relaxed enough to chill out. Air-con in the rooms is absolutely gorgeous!! Let George play your cd's though or you might get bored of the selection after 2 days  Oh and if you're with freestyle you'll get the chance to beat our record at the barcode bar, the record for downing a huge fishbowl cocktail I think was 1min 49 seconds from 10 lads a few weeks before, but 10 of us killed that time and set a new record of 59 seconds!! Hey guys & dolls, been back from the gioie de mare only couple of weeks and miss the place already.
George is on the day shift, class guy, all heart, just don't upset him...
 The place is bang in the middle of the strip, however you don't seem to get loads of noise which is real good..

Me and my fella are goin to Gioie De Mare on 12th May this year and can't wait! Read loads of good stuff about the hotel and its wicked manager. Just wonderin if their are any young couples out around the same time?
