Accommodation in Kalamaki

Well...what can I say? I was adamant I wasn't going to stay at Daisy's, we had booked a package with Thomson that included accommodation in Laganas which we knew we wouldn't be using and took a chance getting accommodation in Kalamaki. We wanted Antonis but they were full :(. Petros did his absolute best to get us to Daisy's, but we were not going to even consider it...until he took us there to see for ourselves. WOW!! we loved it. It was a really pleasant place. The rooms were spacious and clean, they had hairdryer/toaster/tv and wait for it...shower curtain and shower holder :) The pool was absolutely delightful and plenty of sunbeds. There was a childrens pool/showers...even a few things for the children to play on. The pool bar was very very nice and the food was fantastic. Jovanna and Petros have done a great job with the place. It's a family run complex mainly. Tili the barman was always there for anything you needed and happy to chat, always pleasant. The cleaners did a great job too. It's situated just behind Sofia's, so not noisy but very accessible. There are some rooms right in front of the pool and some just to either side of the complex, I believe they have family rooms too. There is free wifi which worked perfectly, even in your room. They went over and above to make our stay perfect. We have stayed in many many places in Kalamaki and this has to be one of our favorites. Hats off to Petros & Jovanna for getting it "just right". Well done....we'll be back!!!!!!!!

My fiance and I have just returned from a week's holiday at the Amazing Daisy Apartments & Studios! On arrival we were made to feel extremely welcome by new owners Petros & Jovanna, and from that moment on they could not do enough for us. We like the pool and it was ideal - very clean and a nice size to be able to go for a swim and play water polo. Our room was on the second floor and was large and overlooked the pool. There are two blocks of apartments with either a pool or garden view and all rooms looked great, we would have been happy in any of them! All the rooms had all the basic facilities we needed, including a kettle, toaster and a fridge. The Daisy is ideally located five minutes away from the main strip of bars and restaraunts. The beach is a 10 mins walk away but definetly worth it! We would recomend the Daisy to anyone so don't delay & book the Daisy today direct with Petros & Jovanna at: www.daisyapartments.gr or www.booking.com

After reading some of the previous reviews for the Daisy we were a bit nervous about booking these apartments however we have just returned from a last minute holiday to the Daisy apartments & Studios in Kalamaki and new owners Petros & Jovanna have taken this place and given it a complete new lease of life all. All the sunbeds & parosols are brand new, all the rooms have been updated with new crockery and bedding and balcony furniture. The rooms are very spacious clean and overlook the pool area or the front gardens (so there are no bad views). We had all the facilities we needed, including a kettle, toaster, fridge so we were pleased as you do not always get a kettle in the rooms, not to mention a toaster?! We would recommend these apartments to anyone - couples, families etc. It is ideally located on a small street five minutes from the main strip but far enough back to be able to get a decent nights sleep. For evening entertainment we went to the Antonis Pool Bar on the old Kalamaki road (5 minutes walk). Petros is the son of Antonis so the whole family will make you feel very welcome at either site! We had an amazing time and hope to return again soon. Book the daisy and you will not be disappointed!! Sites for booking are: www.daisyapartments.gr or booking.com.

Just returned from daisy apartments.Kitchen- dirty cupboards, mismatched and chipped cups and glasses, kettle full of loose and stuck on limescale, greasy and dirty cooker which we had to use to heat water in pan due to state of kettle. Also teeming with ants.Bathroom-dirty taps ,torn shower curtain, shower head was broken water running from were the head is attached, took two days to replace it not ideal in the hot weather we were having.Beds creaky and uncomfortable with very thin matresses. Rest of apartment was ok but needed updating.Must of used up our quota of towels as none were replaced in last 3 days the dirty dry ones were simply folded up and left to use again.Beds not restraightned last couple of days either .Would best describe it as ,erm...rustic.Travel firm needs to look at their rating system for this compex

We were at Daisy Apartments at the beginning of August and we found it just right for our needs.  They were perfectly situated for the busy and quiet part of Kalamaki.  As other people have said Georgios was lovely food and at a very reasonable price.  We went there quite a few times during the two weeks we were there.  The apartments were good and kept clean.  I was a bit concerned about the cat comments but even though we were on the ground floor in no 4 apartment we did not have any trouble at all.  The only downside I found was the bar area was a bit dowdy and although the staff were friendly enough I thought they could have done with a bit of smartening up too. Othwise I would recommend these apartments to anybody

We're flying out in a couple of weeks to Daisys so glad your review was so positive! Can you tell me are there safety deposit boxes at Daisys or did you use one somewhere else if so how much were they?

Thanks Sam

Hi all,

I am coming with my partner next week and we like eating out a lot, what are the restaurants in kalamki like and how are they priced? What is the price of wine? As in Turkey last year it was about £40.00 a bottle :( Also where are the quads hired from? Kalamaki itself?

Thanks
Amy

Hi Clare,

The main beach I would say is about a 20ish min walk ( we went on the quad so didnt actually walk it) although you can access part of the beach which is 5 mins away.  Pool Bar prices varied but we would typically have a glass of wine and a bottle of beer and it roughly was 5euros, same if we had Smirnoff ice or similar.  The beach is really nice you can go really far out but still have your feet on the bottom.

Best wishes

Claire

Hey,

Me and my boyfriend are stayin here the 14th of june for a week and was wondering how long it would take to get to the beach and what the prices in the pool bar are like?

Thanks x

Hi,  really easy to find come out front entrance of Daisy, turn right keep going about 5 mins walk on the right handside you will find Georgios amongst other bars and restaurants. Atmosphere is really good and because its shady with plastic shields up we didnt get eaten a life.  Happy hols

Hello Again.
I stayed in Daisy's 6 years ago. I don't think I had the pleasure in eating in Georgio's then. Where is it by?

Hi Mark & Mel,

We were the very first people there but quickly joined by more and more people.  The restaurants are lovely, a particular favourite of ours was Georgios really nice family run business (if you go say hello to Zoe!!!)  Foods really nice with wonderful Greek food but the standard British stuff (there is a facination for Roast Dinners on a Sunday!!)  We hired a Quad Bike for 3 days for 50 euros which gave us such freedom and a great sun tan. If you want to know anything else let me know, I hope you enjoy your hols

Hello Rachael,

What were the local restaurants like and were there many people staying at Daisy's?

Many thanks and best regards

Just got back from Daisy, had the most fabulous time.  I was a bit worried by some of the comments over the previous years but was really pleasantly surprised.  Yes the rooms are basic but clean and rustic just like Greece.  Spirous and Marina made our hols and could do enough for us.  We had the room above the bar and the noise did not bother us at all.  Best hols have been on in years. Cant wait to go back

click to enlarge  Hi we just come back from zante after a week. It was our first time and w loved it (going again in 18 months to get married there) The Daisy is really nice all the staff are friendly and the rooms are nice and clean although the maid did come in every day she didn't do much cleaning. All i have to say is that theres not alot of entertanment on at the hotel but apart from that the place is nice the location is excellent and the staff are friendle, i would recommend getting air con (6 euro's a night) and remember the electric goes off when u take ur key out of the little key holder thingy so the mozzie repellents dont work when ur not in ur room
