We stayed at the Maria Studios for a week in July 2011 and found the accommodation to be typical of Greece – basic but adequate, the pool was a good size and never busy with plenty of sunbeds, but why oh why do they think that all us Brits want to listen to karaoke and do quizzes for our evening entertainment, we went on holiday to get away from that kind of rubbish !!

We decided to hire a quad bike for 4 days and were recommended by the staff to go to Dennis Rentals as he was a friend of theirs and would do us a good deal – what a mistake that turned out to be !! We enjoyed getting around the island for the first 2 days and had plans for the next 2, however on the 3^rd morning we woke up to find the quad had been stolen from under our balcony. Dennis was informed and he told us that we had better look for it or pay him 3000 Euros to buy a new one. We informed the police and were told to go to see them in the next village at 2pm, after a lot of Greek conversation we were no wiser as to what was happening other than the police said they would be in touch if they needed us. The next day we were dragged off to the police station to make a statement, this involved the assistance of our tour operator, the British Consulate and a translator and took 3 hours to sort out. In the end we were told that the police had dismissed the issue as Dennis had not put on the contract paperwork that we would be liable if the bike was stolen, little wonder he had tried in vain to get the contract from us on the pretence of wanting a photocopy.

The general consensus of opinion was that the bike was either lifted onto a trailer or driven away with a key, we had one key and guess who had the other  ??? I leave you to draw your own conclusion as to what happened to the quad with the registration number ZAX 799.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES HIRE ANYTHING FROM THIS MAN !!    

If you don't like Karaoke or quizzes with questions relating to happenings on Eastenders or staying up until 4am then stay away from Maria Studios.

Zante is a beautiful island and we would like to have seen more of it than we did – Thanks for spoiling our holiday Dennis !!

Have been going to this fantastic place for years ,its a place you can just chill or get stuck in and have totally brilliant holiday, i have made so many good friends there and still keep in touch with last year when my son and  i  left the whole place came to see us off as we knew everbody there sowhat are ya waiting for  GET YASELF TO MARIA AND START ENJOYING LONG LIVE KING BILLY THEO ALEX AND PHILL IF HE IS BACK your best mates Tony & Dale (little brother) see ya soon back in 2010 YAMMASSSSSSSSS

Hi Vicky, I think the air con is roughly 40 euros per week, and the safe I think is just a deposit that you get back... We had a safe but I can't remember exactly how much it was, i'd say about 10 euros per week!! Hope you have a great time!!! x x x

Hi everyone! just returned from a fantasic 2 weeks from the Maria Hotel. I liked to Thank; Theo, Billy and Alex, for a great time, Nothing was to much trouble for them. The Hotel although basic, is clean and the maids service was excellent. This is the second year we have been although the town i feel i quiter because of the recession, We have met some fabulous people, and have swapped email addresses to keep in touch. If your looking for a a relaxing, family or couple holiday then the Maria Hotel is for you.
