Yannis Vardakastanis, our founder, is a rare breed: a Zakynthian conservationist. He grew up at Gerakas, has seen Zakynthos changed by tourism in the last 30 years and is intent on saving his home. In 2005 he won a Responsible Tourism Award for his work.
