Castaways - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Debbie E  (29 October 2006)

Didn't go to Castaways until our 4 th night but after a few recommendations we went and it was well worth the wait!

From the friendly staff to the generous servings and the beautifully decorated desserts it was the best
restaurant we went to in Argassi and would give it 10/10.It's not that the food was overly exotic or
one-of-a-kind but it was simple but very tasty and portions were big!

This restaurant looks very fancy but the food was only average.

Double - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Debbie E

To cut a long story short-went there on first night after what I'd mistaken for friendliness from the notorious Peter-wish I hadn't bothered, food was definately not fresh and ice-cream had been re-frozen about 10 times. He whistled in the street to get our attention after we tried to avoid him for the remainder of hols and he resorted to asking us why we hadn't been again to his place(wish I'd have told him his food was terrible) and then why had we gone twice to Castaways and  then BEGGED us to come into his restaurant....I politely declined...On last night after eating elsewhere there was NO friendly "hello" or "how are you" as there were on all previous nights but he gruffly barked at my 6 year old daughter and myself asking us had we eaten, when were we going home and when I told him we were going the following morning he moved out of the way, blanked us and let us walk on.

This is not a nice man nor a nice restaurant,go at your own peril...!!!

Poseidon (old) - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Debbie E  (29 October 2006)

Went here on first night, very nice honest food, good prices and the guy outside with the american accent is a genuinly nice guy-looked after us all night both times we went. The food is cooked very fresh and I even ate swordfish and considering I don't eat fish or seafood it must have been good.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Horse Riding - (Zante Excursions)

Debbie E

Nana's horses-It will break your heart to see the condition of some of those horses.I am also an experienced horse-rider and have worked with horses for many years but even if you're not you cannot fail to notice the way some of them shy away from a human hand as though they are being beaten.

It seemed the favourite horses were kept in decent conditions whilst the others were kept in absolute squalor.Around the back there is what seems to be a shed with 3 cows tied up standing in their own s**t,millions of flies and wasps, the stench is absolutely overpowering and at the back stand two young ponies also tied standing up with head-collars on that have seemingly never been removed and actually growing into their skins. They are all standing in their own s**t and p**s and have NO bedding at all, cannot even lie down...

Anyway, you get the picture-if this was in UK they would be prosecuted and never be allowed to keep animals again but sadly it is in a country where animals welfare counts for very little.PLEASE avoid this place as it will make your holiday a memorable one for all the wrong reasons.

Dora Studios - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Debbie E

This place was definately average for me.Ok,we went at the end of season and the bar and restaurant wasn't open anymore which is  alright because we didn't plan to eat, sleep and swim in the same place all day but the actual room was nothing to write home about.

The toilet was dirty and stunk so we kept the door closed all the time, paper holder was on floor and room above all was average.

It does look good from the outside and conveniently situated but we just saw it as somewhere to rest our heads, probably much better in peak season.
