Gerakas Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Nice and quiet, turtle season over by the time we got there. One end of the beach was used exclusively by nudists. Gently shelving beach meant that the water stayed quite warm. No facilities but a nice taverna just 5 minutes away.

Afrodite - (Restaurants in Argassi)

We were very disappointed. We had read all the comments before we left England so we saved the restaurant until our last night, very bad decision. Poor service and more expensive than other meals elsewhere where we had chosen the same things.

Green Frog - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Nice staff, nice cats, wanted to bring them home! Plenty of choice on the menu, good for breakfast. Sky news was essential to keep in touch.

Ilision - (Restaurants in Argassi)

The best greek night in our opinion. Dancers, plate smashing, and setting the taverna on fire all added to the atmosphere. Value for money.

Piccadilly - (Restaurants in Argassi)

We agree, definitely the best restaurant in Argassi. Food excellent, authentic and plenty of it. Staff very friendly but professional.

Premier - (Restaurants in Argassi)

This was a lot better than we expected, very busy but the service didn't suffer.

Symposiom - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Fiona D  (24 October 2001)

Yes, the view and the sunset was fantastic. We found the staff very helpful and the food excellent. This was the second best meal that we had in a fortnight of eating out every night. This was my birthday (although they did not know that) so it was extra special.

Big Plate - (Restaurants in Argassi)

This was next to our hotel, good choice of food if a bit basic.

Excellent value, brilliant for kids (other peoples!)Much better than Aphrodites

Greek Night - (Zante Excursions)

Fiona D

We went to the Illision greek night twice and thought that it was fantastic, most people got involved in the dancing. We also went on an excusion to Kampi with Mamfredas tours (argassi)the food was crap, the wine was undrinkable. The dancers were very good but the plate smashing was a bit tame. The dance floor was set on fire and the dancers danced over and around it. Very impressive. Pity we had to go out and get pizza when we got back!

Byzantine Museum - (Places to Visit in Zante)

A bit Blackpool(no disrespect)but plenty of bars and restaurants, beach disapointing, everything very compact.

Papillon Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Fiona D

Having read everyone's comments we were really concerned but we were pleasantly surprised. Hotel room basic but very clean. Bathroom got flooded every time we had a shower but that's Greece isn't it.Maria on reception very helpful and friendly. Safe deposit boxes in reception meant that we could leave our balcony doors open all the time. It was still very hot for mid October. Pool was OK, the same could not be said for the families ( who know who they are) who did not buy water wings or whatever for their small children who could not swim, and then constantly screamed at them when they nearly drowned. Pool bar friendly and good value for money.
