24-7 - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Carrie

we were well looked-after by everyone at the 24-7 and although we went to loads of other places for our evening meals we always went there for our snacks and brekkie. they even welcomed us when we were drunk - although our drunkeness was in moderation of course (as we're laydeeez!) - don't be a**ey like the prat that was there one night.  they work bloody goddamn hard them there boys & girls do! keep dancing leo and keep smiling eilas (bugger-legs!) and look out, cos we'll be back! x

Piccadilly - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Carrie

what can I say??! we had a FABULOUS meal here, beautiful tranquil setting, fantastic service and nice relaxed atmosphere.  3 gorgeous greeks waiting on us - 1 to lay the table, 1 to take our order and 1 to pour the (PERFECTLY chilled!) drinks - and each of them as delectable as the food they served!! mmm, mmm, mmmmmmm!! it was tres busy too (always a good sign) and no-one waiting outisde to drag you in off the streets - which can be a rarity in itself in Argassi! thoroughly recommended by 3 picky Welsh eaters!

Peter is a character, pure madman and was fantastic free entertainment as we dodged past him every night!!  like other peopleon this site say, he WAS persistent, but so were MANY of the other proprietors in Argassi - when your livlihood depends on it i guess you have to be competitive.if you don't like that sort of thing (like i don't!) either chill and get used to it or go somewhere else on hols.    we never ate at his place but never found him to be rude or aggressive, just nuts really! mind you, we ate with his son at the 24-7 every day so that was our get-out clause!  we plan to go back next year though hopefully so will give his place a try and make up our own minds.

Elpida Hotel - (Accommodation in Alykanas)

Carrie

Hi, came to Zakynthos last year, stayed in Argassi and absolutely LOVED it!! I'm looking to book a hol for two of my older friends, single ladies in their fifties looking for a beautiful place with (just a little bit of!) peace and quiet coupled with lovely restuarants and tavernas/bars for them to have lovely fun evenings. Does anyone who's been here think this resort and apartments would be a good choice for them??

Meridien Beach Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Carrie           10/10

My sister, my friend and I have just got back from two glorious weeks at the Meridien Beach.  It was our second time in Argassi and we chose the Meridien after looking at all the reviews and checking on this site that the studios were actually part of the same complex.  We certainly weren't disappointed with our choice and when we return to Argassi will not consider staying anywhere else.

Our studio was spotless and cleaned regularly by the maids (as regularly as they could actually get in without waking us that is!).  We had a beautiful sea view and the ultimate in quietness. The staff on reception are very friendly and helpful and if you have a problem it will be sorted immediately.  Air-con is available as an extra, it's also so powerful that we could only have it on in short blasts because we actually got cold - in the middle of a heatwave!

So sorry to hear you regulars sound so gutted about Panos not being there anymore, he sounds like a good guy.  You'll have the best of both worlds though cos sounds like you'll still be able to visit him in Argassi and the other good news though is that the pool bar is now run by the most wonderful woman called Anthi - what a character!  She will give you the most wonderful of welcomes (best we've ever had in any of the Greek Islands yet!) and she and her two young daughters, who help her out during their school holidays, help to create a lovely, happy, family feeling around the whole pool area.  She really will look after you!

We would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Meridien Beach and will definitely go back there when we return to Zakynthos - our only regret is that we can't go back right now!!

Also, sorry John did have a card with contact number on it but can't find it now - see if anyone on the Argassi message board can help they're usually great there.  Good luck!

Sunburnt Arms - (Bars in Argassi)

Carrie   (23 July 2007)        10/10

Hey to you all at the Sunburnt Arms!  We're gutted to be back in not-so-sunny Wales, depression rules here !!  If you're lucky enough to be going to Argassi pop in and say hello to Mark & co., you'll have a great welcome and will be really looked after.  The food is great too (although we always missed the breakfasts - we'll try again next time!) and the atmosphere is lovely - also if you're a BB fan (addict?!) it's the only place in Argassi where you can have uninterrupted eviction night  - the other bars tend to keep the kareoke going whilst it's on - sacrilege!

It's the guys' first season in Argassi so pop in and say hello, you won't be disappointed.

P.S Mark - thanks for trying to save my sister's life (mobile phone charger!) much appreciated!  Saw the 'kareoke' comment on here too, ha!

All the best for a great season, we'll be back sometime (hopefully sooner rather than later!) and promise to try a breakfast!!  Keep up the good work!

as for nic son (dunno if ur a girl, boy, one of each??!?)  if you watch most haunted back in the uk then ilias’ new name should be self-explanatory – if you don’t you won’t get it anyway!!  of course they’re all still being bad boys – they’ll never be any other way but somehow they have a certain something that helps them get away with it don't they – gave up trying to get them to behave very early on and just went with it!!!
