Eleana Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Clare W

My boyfriend and I visited Hotel Eleana from 27/9 to 4/10. The hotel itself was very pleasant and the family lovely. Pool was very clean, loads of sunloungers and air beds for the pool. Omlettes from the snack bar were lovely - try the sausage one. Unfortunately we were a room at the front of hotel. This was directly above the Beer Academy and The Factory pumping out music until 2am each night then came the roudy motorbikes and partygoers. I am a light sleeper and found this to be most annoying. On changeover day I requested that we be moved to the back of the hotel which was honoured and I was able to enjoy my stay more. I'll take not of the description in the brochure next time and go somewhere more quieter. Still had a very time though.

September - (Best Time to Visit)

Clare W

Stayed 27/9 - 4/10 - weather was great all week. I'm not a sun worshipper so enjoyed the mid 70's temperature to be able to explore the island in comfort.

Doctors Surgery - (Doctors/Chemists in Zante)

Clare & Clive

Following a scooter crash my boyfriend sought treatment at the Doctors Surgery in Hotel Castello in Argassi (opposite Magic Mushroom pub). He was very thorough and dished out loads of pills. Had to go to the Xray hospital in Zante town and he organised a taxi for us. Very efficient. Luckily the insurance covered us for the visits to him - we just have to claim for xrays and prescriptions. A+++++

Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cruise - (Zante Excursions)

Clare & Clive

Paid 7 euros for a half hour journey in a glass bottom boat. Caught it from the north of the island by the Lighthouse. The caves were stunning and we were offered the chance to swim but it was a bit rough. They didn't do a trip to the Ship Wreck that day due to bad seas.

Ethnic - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Clare & Clive

What a fantastic place this is. This was the only place we visited twice and I had the same dish - Ethnic Chicken with Sweet Chilli Sauce (served in a pitta with chips 4.50 euros or you could go large for 6 euros). Lovely environment, oil lamps, nice music, friendly service, nice wine. Thanks very much for a great two meals. A++++++

Granada - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Clare & Clive

Lovely genuine restaurant on the outskirts of Argassi. We went here on our first night and wasnt very hungry because of pigging out all day!! so we only had starters of meatballs and garlic bread, however, it was really lovely. Waiters were chatty and advised us not to do the excursions - very true - hire a car from Moto Sprint just down the road from this place. Excellent.

Double - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Clare & Clive

What a mistake going into the place. You might think that it was good with the charm the old man gives you - WRONG. The waiter was unfriendly and when we only ordered a light bite said "is that all". Food was very disappointing. There was no music, no atmosphere. Avoid this place at all costs. Go to Granada or Ethnic - fantastic food.

Thomson now TUI - (Tour Operators in Zante)

Clare & Clive

Went to Hotel Eleana. Hotel was great. Didn't get to see much of the holiday rep - Roxy. Spoke so fast at the induction you could hardly get much info out of it. Avoid the excursions - rip off prices. We went to the Saturday Night Live and got crammed into a restaurant with 8 to a table. We complained and managed to get a table for 2 in the "public" section and got chatting to a lovely couple - gave them our free red wine. We paid 39 euros for this - poor choice of food, being rushed and an unconvincing show of covers when most of the reps were not singing - just used the costumes and mimed. Was not happy with wasting our money on this.
