Kalamaki Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Steven M

I've just returned from my first visit to Zante and all i can say is OH MY GOD!!!! I had the most fantastic time - the beach was excellent and was even lucky enough to see a turtle. Everyone is so friendly and to quote the slogan on the Dias napkins "They Care More"!!! Greek Night at Mermaids is a night NOT to miss!!! Although it get better in the second half when they do the flame dancing and plate smashing. Plus Soda the bar next door is a must as well - all very friendly and cheap cocktails! Nicky the "hostess with the mostess"!! made are nights there really enjoyable. She is just the best - and helped me win 1st prize on the quiz night!! If you go tell her hello from Steven and Woz! I am on my way now to the travel agents to book again for 2005!

White House Apartments - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

S M  (05 August 2004)

As with the previous review- i agreee with the "youcant expect Chamagne on beer prices" Our stay at the apparments was ok as it only served as somewere to get shut eye. When the coach dropped us off there the owner came out as was all smiles and chatting to the rep - but as soon as the caoch and rep went it was a different story! She showed us to our room and once inside she abruptly said "you want fan - 14 euros now" then off she trott without a thankyou or have a nioce stay etc. Obviously her english was limited - but come on!!! She could not even manage a "hello" back - after a few days we gave up and just ignored her. In fairness we were 2 30 something blokes - so she may have thought we were "brits on the piss". The appartment itself is fine - although a shower would be good rather than sommat you have fixed to your bath taps! Sheets and towels are changed once a week which is a bit poor - but having spoken to one of the other guests if you tell the lady you want cleen towles everyday - she will do it. All have balconies - which was fab - sat there at 1am in the morning listening to the peace and quite sipping a vodka and chatting about the day - love it!

Plus Soda - (Bars in Kalamaki)

S M  (05 August 2004)

Went to Plus Soda every night - such a brillinat bar. Never ventured inside after 12 though as seemed to attract the 15yr olds. Niccki the hostess with the mostest - is just the best and really made our night ( and even helped us with the questions on Quiz night (which we won - cheers niccki!!)
Fab cocktails at fab prices - this place will be our first port of call when we go back next year!!! (oh and Nikos the barman is soooooooooooooooooooo cute!!)

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

S M  (05 August 2004)

Hello all - For any of you going or have been to the Greek night at Mermaids - i need a realy speacial favour. When the greek dancers get everyone up and going onto the street n' stuff they place a really cool record. Its not the Zorba - its got abloke and kids singing in it. HAve tried searching the internet for it - but not found anything. If your going would you ask for me? Or if you have been - do you know what it is? Bit of a sad request - but it would be really good to find out what it was called a listen to it again!!!

If you find out - either leave a message on here or email me at steleeds@aol.com THANKS!!!!!!!

Zante Town - (Places to Visit in Zante)

S M

Went to Zante town by taxi on a Saturday evening at around 5pm. Taxi from Kalamaki was €7.50. Was a bit dissapointed when we got there as everywere was shut. Only the resteraunts were open and a few gift shops. The place was a ghost town. So if you go - go earlier or later
