Sophia - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

Ian G

We had one of the top floor attic 2-bed appartments. Self catering facilities a bit limited, but bags of room, very well kept and cleaned, and nice gardens surrounding. Good quiet location (Tsilivi town ten mins walk, south end of beach (best part) five minutes. We would recommend Sofia.

Alykes Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Ian G

Lovely beach for the kids, with nice mountain backdrop and a decent choice of tavernas.

Gerakas Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Ian G

We reckon this the best beach on the island, especially for kids. Very nice taverna at the top of the hill.

Kalamaki Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Ian G

Not sure what everyone else sees in this beach, with Laganas down the road!

Keri Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Ian G

Mostly pebble/shingle, so not good for kids, but a lovely spot, with fantastic views and crystal clear waters. Our kids liked to paddle but we moved on to Gerakas for a decent kiddy beach.

Laganas Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Ian G

If you go here, you have to accept a brash strip of bars and shops, a lot of traffic pulled up to the beach, and a general air of over development. But the beach and shallow warm water are fantastic for young kids, and make up for the rest. Ten years ago it was probably paradise.

Porto Roma Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Ian G

Not really for the kids. A narrow beach, shingly and steeply shelving.

Tsilivi Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Ian G

Nice beach, particularly at the south end. End closer to town is more scruffy and we encountered some tar washed up from offshore boats. Nice and shallow for the kids.

May - (Best Time to Visit)

Ian G

Last week in May. Weather glorious and even a bit too hot by the end. But on shore sea breezes help on the beach. Flowers are everywhere on the island. Watch out for the mosquitos!

Family Restaurant - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Ian G

Great for kids. They do traditional Greek and international dishes, and offer a kiddy sized (and priced) portion of all dishes. The ice creams come with sparklers which my daughters loved.

Moby Dick - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Ian G  (02 June 2001)

The main reasons for going here are that its close to the beach, and it has a great selection of little Tikes play equipment. Food is pretty ordinary, but you could always just get a drink and let the kids run wild on the swings and slides.

Popeyes - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Ian G

Very good for the kids.

The Cats Whiskers - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Ian G  (02 June 2001)

Good service (English waitresses on summer jobs), good food, especially the desserts. Recommended.

Manos Holidays - (Tour Operators in Zante)

Ian G  (02 June 2001)

We got very decent appt in Tsilivi (Sofia), and cheap too. The rep was very attentive but not very well informed.
