Astoria Hotel - (Accommodation in Alykes)

Sarah R

We were booked into another hotel but were transfered to the Astoria at the last minute. Our first impression was "what a beautiful hotel". After 1 day we were shocked at how miserable the staff were which was a view shared by many guests. The breakfast was more or less the same everyday and was cold. Because of their attitude it grieved me to spend money in their bar. We visited their bar once with another guest who had arthritis. The lights were switched off at 11.50pm even though the bar didnt close until 12.00. We felt this was very rude as the staff were aware of her disability. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!

THE FLIGHT OVER TO ZANTE WAS VERY GOOD SINCE IT WAS MY FIRST TIME.BUT AIRTOURS WHERE VERY SLOW AT LETTING ME KNOW THAT I WAS BEING TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER HOTEL.(1 WEEK BEFORE MY FLIGHT)PERHAPS IF THE HOTEL STAFF WERE MORE FRIENDLY MIGHT MADE IT WORTH THE TRANSFER

Paporo Beach Restaurant - (Restaurants in Alykes)

Miss R

we visited paporo bar and restaurant in may 2003. The staff were very nice and willing to serve you, The food was excellent. The red house wine is the best! We definately recommend this taverna to anyone who visits Alykes. We enjoyed the food so much we went back again and again.

Alykes Tourist Train - (Zante Excursions)

Miss R

We went on this trip in may 2003. it was 10euros and lasted 2 hours. You visit a museum and a church that has built rebuilt after the 1953 earthquake. Next stop is a taverna where you will get a free glass of wine(or 2). You will learn a bit about local life and have the opportunity to buy some of that gorgeous wine.
