Prince of Asia - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Awful.  Overpriced.  Bland.

Beer Academy - (Bars in Argassi)

Not bad.  Cheaper than most other bars.  Friendly and efficient waitressess.

Rossis Place - (Bars in Argassi)

Our favourite bar in Argassi.  Friendly and efficient service.  Good for TV sports or simply chilling.

Decent breakfasts, too.

Peppermint - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Small restaurant slightly off the beaten track but a reasonably good find.  Very popular but I don't quite know why.  Food was OK but not spectacular and we found the queue of people waiting for a table milling around rather off-putting whilst you are trying to eat. Felt the satff were trying to rush us out as soon as we had finished main course and seemed a litle put out that we wanted coffee.  All in all it was one of the better places but not one we desired to rush back to.

Ethnic - (Restaurants in Argassi)

The last restaurant we ate in and one of the best.  Very small but it had a nice vibe and the staff were very good.  Food very good and of a decent size - ie not piled high with chips and rice.  I had chicken fillet wrapped in haggis which was very nice although I reckon the fillet was "reformed".

Double - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Dave R          5/10

Having read the reviews we decided to avoid the place but out of curiosity we gave it a go.  I have to say that although that yes, there are better places in Argassi - there are also a lot worse.  Service was good and the food perfectly eatable.  I don't know what the Greeks feel about the "enticer" but he was simply doing his job as far as I was concerned.  He was well aware that due to where the restaurant was situated that he only had one chance to attract customers and he made the most of it.

Katerina Palace Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Dave R          7/10

It does what it says on the tin.  No real complaints and got what we paid for.  Nice and central but not affected by noise in any way.  Beds a little hard but soon got used to them.  The breakfast was somewhat basic and how it is laid out needs a re-think but again it is something you get used to.

Jeep Safari - (Zante Excursions)

Dave R          7/10

Not as good as other jeeps trips we have been on but not a bad day out.  As Zakynthos is quite a small island there is a limited range of places to go.  Obligatory visits to cafes and souvenir shop but you can see why they do it and I am sure the honey will be very nice.  Booked through a bucket shop which is far cheaper than tour operator.

Castaways - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Dave R  (18 August 2010)        6/10

Quite good but huge portions of chips and rice which is a little off-putting.  However, my main meal of a spicy tortilla wrap was very good indeed.  Starters are big too so watch what you order.

Jungle Bar - (Bars in Argassi)

Dave R          6/10

Quite a nice bar.  Nice location but sadly is across the road from the apalling Avalon which seemed hell bent on drowning out the music of every other bar in the vicinity.  Service good.
