Roseland Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

D B          6/10

Having read the excellent reviews on this site we were quite disappointed with the hotel during our stay.  (18/9/8 -25/9/8) The hotel may have been clean but our room smelt damp and the bathroom situation was not good.  The shower cubicle (there was no bath facility) was extremely small - if you're over a size 14 you can forget fitting in there! It also leaked badly and the floor was flooded for the rest of the day. They also charge 60 euros (non returnable) for the keys to the small fridge, safe & air con which is rather excessive.  The breakfast was very disappointing in terms of lack of variety/ imagination - it would have been nice if there had been a bit of a change from the toast, cereal & hard boiled eggs! The pool area was nice (they even provided lilos!) and compared to some of the stories we were told about other hotels in Kalamaki I am sure the Roseland is one of the better ones.  Overall, not a bad place to stay, but not sure it deserves the 10/10 ratings it seems to get on this site!

Stani - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Visited Stani's 3 times during our visit (18/9/8 -25/9/8) for lunch and were never disappointed. Good menu, varied choice, great value & the house red wine is lovely! Only sorry that we missed the Greek Night.  Well worth a visit!

Buon Amici - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Visited Buon Amici twice during our visit (18/9/8 -25/9/8) and was my wife's favourite restaurant in Kalamaki. Ralph the greeter was very informative and helpful and the authentic Italian food was always top notch! Would highly recommend that you visit here during your stay - the menu has something for young & old alike.

Zakanthi - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Had the most amazing lunch here (22/9/8) We wanted an authentic Greek meal so asked them to surprise us with a selection of small dishes, meze etc.  What followed didn't initially appear to be a huge amount but we enjoyed every single mouthful and couldn't even finish the plateful! We crawled back to our hotel as we were so full and then proceeded to sleep for a whole 16 hours!!! (not bad for 25 euro) This is in no way a complaint as it was one of the most delicious meals we had in Zante, the house red wine is delicious.  Only sorry we never made it back to eat in the evening.  You must try here for an authentic, freshly cooked meal, with helpful friendly staff 10/10
