10/10Fantastic place - we were originally booked into the Alykanas Village Studios and Apartments with Manos, but Thomsons did us a MASSIVE favour by taking over that accommodation.
We booked the Valais through Manos - Roxy greeted us as we got off the bus, took us to our room, and was generally fantastic all the way through the fortnight. Katerina is an absolute legend - especially considering a lot of her English was learnt around the bar area !!
Rooms are spotless and comfortable (if a little small for a family !) - the breakfasts are basic, but very fresh and tasty - the bar snacks are superb and reasonable - my only complaint would be that the dogs and roosters somewhere behind the Mill Bar need shooting !! (However, these don't belong to the Valais !!)
My 5-year old daughter loved it, and cried all the way home, saying "I'm missing Roxy !!"
We will definitely be going back there ASAP.

10/10Stayed at the Valais Hotel, so this was a brilliant place to visit - can't believe we only went there twice in the fortnight !!
Fried courgettes as a starter - yummy.
Plaki (traditional sole dish) - words can't describe how this tastes - mmmmmmmmmm
Yoghurt and honey, or the lemon ice cream - both to die for.
All washed down with a carafe (or two) of the house red - heaven.
The owner was also dead chuffed that we'd found the money-off voucher that he'd devised on his 18th birthday (in 1998)

Poseidon - (Restaurants in Alykanas)

10/10Dennis on "the door" draws you into the Poseidon.
Once inside, you are treated to something special, although I suppose the Child Labour do-gooders would have something to say about the young boy working there - surely he'd have school the next day !!
I can totally recommend the Poseidon Special Lamb In Pot - my wife asked for roast potatoes with her meal, only to be told it comes with roast potatoes, chips, rice and salad !!
My Mum & Dad had been coming to Alykanas for the last 7 years, but had never been to the Poseidon- once we took them in there, they were hooked (5 meals in a fortnight can't be bad !)
They will also be paying more visits when they go back in October.
