We have been going to Zakynthos - Kalamaki - for the last 21 years and tried virtually every restuarant in the area. We found Mikaelos and have been going there soley for the last 19 years. The food,location and service are first class. Nothing is too much  trouble for Dennis who would be devistated if he had not satisfied his customers. We have stayed at Dennys on many occasions  over a 21 year period and have enjoyed our selves. The location is ideal and breakfast is very good. The staff respond to politeness and friendliness and are faultless. Unfortunately they can not control the few guests who are ill mannered and inconsiderate - they put up cautionary signs which they expect responsible parents to observe for the safety of their children.I can't wait for my next visit.   We first visited Hotel Metaxa 21 years ago when it was at the end of a dirt track and we had to use torches to avoid the pit holes, Stelios was such a good host and we had a wondeful time. The hotel is spotless and has grown with the times. Such a good location. We go back every year and although we don't stay there every time as we like to try other places we always look in at the Metaxa and laugh with Stelios about times gone by - we feel priveleged to call him and his family friends.Arthur & Dorothy

  Went back to Mikaelos in Jun'10 and pleased to say nothing has changed except an addition to Dennis's family - a lovely little boy and his wife has just presented him with a beautiful daughter - hopefully the family tradition will carry on through them. I can not sing the praises of this restuarant high enough - quality of food / service/ cost/ location and their genuine fondness of families with children.  Congratulations Dennis - try buying a television !!!!
