Azure (Mediterranee) Hotel - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

Dianne F

Hi there

Don't panic about going to the Mediterranee Hotel. As I wrote last May it is tired and a bit run down but it is just a base to sleep!!!! It is clean and the linens are changed on a regular basis. If you need your towels changed leave them on the bathroom floor!!! But don't try it every day or the maid will ignore them. Try to get to know your maid and acknowledge her in the mornings when she is doing her work. That way she will look after you plus make sure you give her a tip near the end of your stay. Always hand a tip to her personally. These ladies are so grateful.

The hotel is so central it is an excellent place to stay. Plus the fact you are going in August it will be very hot and you have free air con in your room. You will be grateful for that I can assure you.

The pool is quite cramped as there are so many sunbeds squeezed in you struggle to move. However, the pool bar staff more than make up for that as they are so funny. I just hope Mandia ( hope that's how it is spelt) is there again this year. Yes you got it although I said it was tired and run down we are going back in May for a week and our son, daughter and her boyfriend are coming along as well. No way would I take them anywhere I wasn't happy with.

The standard of rooms in Greek resorts tends to be very basis and not like you get in other countries. But in my opinion the friendliness and kindness of the Greek people more than compensate for lack of luxury as far as rooms are concerned.

This will be our 5th time in a row to Zante and the last 4 times to Tsilivi. In our opinion it is one of the most fabulous places to visit and I am sure you will really enjoy it.

If you log into and register on the Tsilivi messageboard you will get so much more information from here. Any questions you may have you should get the answer on there.

Sorry for rambling on but there is so much more I could say about Tsilivi.

Bolero Cafe Bar - (Bars in Tsilivi)

Dianne F (04 May 2007)

Can anyone please tell me where this bar is please. I have been to Tsilivi so many times but I still find new places I want try. I am one of those people who tend to go to the same places each time. This year I intend to be different and try some new restuarants and bars. Mind you I will still go to my favourites as well!!!!!!!! Would never let them down!!!

How things can change in a year!!!!

Sorry folks but we will defiantely NOT be staying here again. Sadly one of our party burnt his feet quite badly and we stayed by the pool one day so he could sit in the shade.

The pool was disgusting. There was a layer of dead flies on top of the water and the filters were NOT on all day. It really put us off from having a cool dip!!!!!!!!

The rooms are OK though, as you do get air con. Which is a plus point.

The breakfast is VERY basic continental but we tended to eat out for most of our stay. You can get a good breakfast in most restaurants quite cheaply.

Staff were OK but not as friendly as last year.

Asian Feast - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F          10/10

Every night we walked passed on the opposite side of the road and got loads of hassle to into a similar restaurant. We decided to cross the road to avoid the hassle. We saw this restaurant and we all agreed we fancied trying it as no one was hassling you to go in.

Well we were not dissapointed. the service and food were excellent. Portions were not huge but we found it was just right as every where else piles up your plate.

Two of our party had Chinese and enjoyed it and the rest of us had Indian and it was fab. So much so we will be going back in September.

Sometimes it is nice to get a change and this did not dissapoint.

Well done.

Fat Olives - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F  (02 June 2007)        10/10

We ate here twice in our weeks stay and we really enjoyed it. Val, James and Danny looked after us very well. So much so when I spoke to Val about our return in September explaining that one of our party is Diabetic. She took no time at all in saying we will be happy to cater for your friend.

So yes we will be back without a doubt.

Chicken a la creme YUMMY, Lamb Kleftico fabulous, pizzas brilliant. As for getting real veg and potatoes...HEAVEN.

PS... Michaels feet are a lot better now and thank you for caring.

Hi Guys

It is the PIGGIN holiday makers here!!!!!! hahahaha

We called in here most evening on our treck back to our hotel!!! My son was addicted to chips and cheese!!!!!!!!!!!

Service and food is spot on. The staff are hilarious. Mind you they were probably laughing at US!!!! We were on our way home from the pub!!!!!!!!!!

We will be back in September to have another PIGGIN great time!!!!!Yes I  will do my best to bring a pig to fit the outline in your visitors book!!!!!!!!!!!!

Passage to Asia - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F  (02 June 2007)        1/10

Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Food was not even hot. The starters were average, but the main courses left a lot to be disired.
Boiled prawns  =   Tin of peas with a few prawns floating in it!!!
Chow Mein  = Plain noodles with a small amount of veg!!!
Chicken curry = not bad but loaded with green peppers and a VERY thin sauce.

I am not going to go on about this place but I would definatley give it a miss. The food does not match what you pay!!!!!!!!

Plenty of better places to eat that are cheaper and much better.

I am not usually this negative about a restaurant, but this really brought out the worst in me!!!

Manos Grill - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F  (02 June 2007)        10/10

Another fabulous meal at Manos. We had told our family about it so much we had to take them and they were not dissapointed.

Prices are a bit more thatn some places but it is so worth it.

The Med - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F  (02 June 2007)        1/10

We were smiled at when we were going out in the evenings to go for a walk before dinner. One of the waiters at the Med grill  kept calling us in. He said you stay at our hotel you must eat here!! We told him not just now as it was too early. He continued to hassle us on a nightly basis. This became tiring so we said OK we will eat here tonight. He promised us if the food was not good we would not pay.

Starters were nice, we all enjoyed them. But when our main courses arrived I was disgusted. I had ordered Chicken Schnitzel ( Chicken Fillet in breadcrumbs) What I got was 2 overcooked chicken burgers that I wouldn't feed to one of the dogs that roam around the streets. 3 of our party ordered pizzas. These were shocking, flat base that was cooked to a crispy wafer and covered in very greasy toppings. We asked the waiter to come over and he apologised and took the food away. We tried to get the waiter that had hassled us to come in and he totally ignored us. As we left I made a point of letting him know how bad the food was and he still tried to ignore us!!

So be aware you don't get what you ask for at the MED GRILL.

Golden Lion - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F (02 June 2007)

I am broken hearted to say the least. This was always one of our favourite meals.

WHAT HAS HAPPED!!!! IT IS CLOSED DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Romios - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F          10/10

Our first night in Tsilivi ... all excited about arriving back in our favourite resort. We went for a walk to see where we wanted to eat. We got to the Planet bar and the heavens opened!!!! We had to take shelter!!! So we decided tp wait until the rain slowed down and run over to Romios. We ate there last year and enjoyed it.

We had another fabulous meal and the total bill was incredible.. excellent value for money.

Don't hesitate to try here. We wil lbe back in Septemeber, looking forward to seeing you all again.

Bolero Cafe Bar - (Bars in Tsilivi)

Alamis Apartments - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

Dianne F          6/10

Just back after two weeks at Alamis.

The Staff were fabulous and made you very welcome.

However, I had a couple of grumbles!!!!!

Beds....very hard and uncomfotable
Pillows.... much the same
Bed linen.... only changed twice in two weeks!!!!
Towels... Not the cleanest!!!!!

I had to a one point go to reception and ask them to clean our room as it had not been done. Our friends had their room cleaned and linen changed FOUR times!!!

In total we had clean towels three times!!! Bed changed twice and room cleaned twice!!!!

Limanaki - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F          10/10

Our Greek friends took us here for lunch on a Sunday. WOW... what a fabulous place to eat. Very relaxed and friendly. We wanted to go back to have an evening meal but sadly the weather was against us as it got a bit breezy in the evenings.

However we will definately try here again on our next visit.

Benikos - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F          9/10

Like the previous comment we have been going to Tsilivi now for 5 years and this was our first visit. We always avoided it before because of the girls on the corner handing out leaflets asking you to go to Benikos. I always try to avoid restaurants that advertise like this!!!

Bigger fools us.

We went this year and it was one of the nicest meals we had. Very friendly and welcoming. Only issue I had was the ceiling fan was right above our table and it really made our food cold quickly!!!!!!! hehehe

Will definately go back on our next visit.

Well done Benikos team.... YAMMAS

You will not be dissapointed with the food and service here as it is always fresh and well presented. You are never rushed from your table either which is nice.

Dianne F  (28 September 2007)        9/10

what a find... we ate here about 3 or 4 times in the two weeks. Caeser chicken salad was fabulous as I didn't want anything heavy and I hate leaving half a plate of food!!!! This did not happen with the salad.

Great choice on the menu, guaranteed to suit all.

Many thank for everything

Stamnes Taverna - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Dianne F          9/10

lovely meal here this September. We went from recommendations from the website and were not dissapointed.

Not a lot of room though so you felt a bit too close to the next table.

The food more than made up for that though.

Well done, we will be back.
