Zakynthos Airport - (Places to Visit in Zante)

Sarah A          3/10

I was expecting the worst when I arrived here having read all of the terrible comments. Have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be although the luggage from the flight to Zante was a right performance taking an hour and a half to actually get onto the conveyor belt. luggage kept coming in groups of about 10 cases with a 15 minute wait in between each set.

Going back was not as bad as I had expected. You do have to queue outside in what was the mid day sun when we were there but it is shaded so its fairly cool (ish). They do get you through check in fairly quickly (quicker than in Kos)

Inside the airport is filthy and the prices are sky high. 2 diet pepsis, 2 cereal bars and 4 chuppa chup lollies came to 18 euros.

Timotheos Studios - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Sarah A          8/10

Just got back from the Timotheos and I found them to be a good, clean and basic place to stay. If you like animals its even better because we had a lizard, some ants, a grasshopper and cat in the room and almost got the local goat in there too.

Chris the barman is helpful and will tell you what you need to know. Also helped me to find lost boyfriend who fell asleep on the beach having gone on a drunken walk around Argassi to which I am very grateful.

This is a good place to stay and a fantastic base for everything. Hotel bar is good and stays open all night, drinks are also cheap there.

Supermarket next door is great and the owner is lovely and helpful.

Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cruise - (Zante Excursions)

Sarah A

A very pretty trip with the potential of being a fantastic day out. That is if the temperature is not 47 degrees and the trip is not 9 hours long.

The places visited were lovely but anyone thinking of doing the all day cruise I would advise you to pay a little bit more and do a few half day ones instead of one whole day because it is really long and most people on the boat had sunstroke.

The trip was on the delphini. This was a nice boat, however there is another one that is just slightly more expensive and has a pool on board so this may be better for the heat.

Oh and if you are going to the shipwreck be warned what seems like a white sand beach is actually full of hard sharp pebbles and stones which really really hurt! Scenery fantastic though and water is so clear and beautiful.

Castello Beach Bar - (Bars in Argassi)

Great place. We loved it. Owner (I think he was anyway) is fantastic. Looks like Minty from Eastenders. Lovely food and excellent cocktails. Nice to go for a cool down during day on beach.
