Hi, we are thinking of booking the Amaryllis apartments. Can anyone tell me how much we can expect to pay for the air. con.? Thanks!

Haven't been to these apartments but to reply to Jemma Sene:- We have just come back from Kalamaki and did not experience any problems at all. We had a lovely relaxing, peaceful time. There are not that many 'bars' is Kalamaki- mainly restaurants and tavernas. We did walk along the beach one day into Laganas and quickly turned round!!It's hard to believe the two resorts are on the same island let alone next to each other ,whilst in Kalamaki you will forget it's there. The scooter riders are a bit mad but this is not a 'Zante' thing, it happens in lots of countries. Whilst we were there, the only time we saw a full bar was for the Big Brother final!! We have a 11 year old and so choose our holidays carefully, we would definitely go back. Don't worry- you'll have a great time!!!

Libra Holidays - (Tour Operators in Zante)

Not impressed at all with Libra. The airline (Air Malta) very poor. No inflight entertainment at all-not even radio and the meals awful! I had to email Libra to confirm some details for me - the response was less than courteous! We had to hunt for our rep when arriving at the airport and the same again when looking for our coach. Other holiday makers at our hotel had said that they wanted to book a car/excursion and the rep. didn't even turn up. Luckily our hotel staff were brilliant and we had no problems, I would hate to think what it might have been like if we had needed some help!

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

We ate at Mermaids on our first night. The food and service was excellent-especially the childrens meal! We tried Mermaids again a couple of nights later, on this occasion we received a very 'hurried' service. They wanted to take our order within 2 minutes! When we did eventually receive the food it was  big disappointment. The steak was like shoe leather and was served with tinned mushrooms. We spoke to many other visitors and many had described the restaurant as 'okay'. We tried some of the restaurants at the very top of the town towards the beach.  We found these to have a much more relaxed feel and were more typically Greek. Also, you weren't grabbed on the street every 2 minutes by restaurant staff! On thw hole I suppose the Mermaid is reasonably priced but I would advise anyone to try other restaurants too.

Hi Alex- just read your comments on Mermaids. I happen to be who didn't think the food was fantastic at Mermaids and feel you may have mistaken others views. Just because everyone doesn't rave about this restaurant, does not meen that they prefer pie and chips!! In fact, we found Mermaids to be the least Greek of all the restaurants we tried!! However I am glad that you enjoyed your visits to Mermaids and Plus Soda (same owner). The Karaoke and card tricks must have been great fun-is this an ancient Greek custom??!!
