Papillon - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Lyndsey P

We ate here twice during our holiday and thought it was by far the best restaurant in Argassi.  Was heaving every night regardless of what time it was.  No one outside trying to drag you as they simply don't need to.   Between us we had crepes, steaks, chicken, pasta, garlic prawns, garlic mushrooms (fresh ones- not tinned like everywhere else) and it was lovely.

Windmill Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

We had a lovely two week stay here and would definately go back again.  Two of our party are planning on ging back for a week later this year.  The owners are very helpful, Suzie on reception was lovely as was Helena behind the pool bar.  Julian who works behind the bar on an evening is just funny - you'll see what I mean - don't let him show you any tricks - he's rubbish - but still funny.

Afrodite - (Restaurants in Argassi)

We all thought the food here was appalling, it was all frozen stuff reheated, I had meatballs that tasted canned, my husband had calamari and frankly he's had better out of morrison's freezer.  A lot of other people we spoke to loved it but out of 4 of us we all hated it.

Carissimo - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Lyndsey   (19 July 2005)

Wasn't overly impressed, very expensive for what we had.  I had fresh fish which was pretty balnd and boring, we both had calamari so start with and it came with chips!!!!  Most expensive meal we had and not really worth the money.

Castaways - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Lyndsey   (19 July 2005)

This restaurant offers to much choice to start with.  The menu was huge and we ended up rushing into our choices.  One of us had the nacho bowl to start with which was lovely but all the other starters were poor.  Two of us had steak with was underdone and tasteless.  The other two had fajitas which were very greasy.  Not the worst meal we had but not the best by a long shot

Piccadilly - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Had a lovely meal here, the oven baked lamb and the chef's special pork were both lovely.

Stars Restaurant - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Lyndsey

Was told by one of the reps that this was one of the best restuarants but it was really just OK.  Between us we ordered garlic prawns, garlic mushrooms and steak with garlic and herb sauce and the garlic sauce on all 3 occasions was like gravy with loads of garlic in.  And the steak was simply topped with garlic mushrooms and the mushrooms were all tinned.

What everyone else ordered was nice and the wine was the niceset we had on the island - we even bought two litres of it to take back to the apartments with us.

The Jam - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Lyndsey   (20 July 2005)

We ate here during our second week and the food was lovely.  It's quite a small basic menu, not traditional greek dishes but after over a week of trying new things we were all glad of a change to steak and chips.  Steaks was cooked perfect and plenty of it.  Pretty Cheap as well.  The combo starters are massive..

Argassi Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Lyndsey

We loved Argassi, Windmill Studios were lovely.  Plenty of nice restaurants and bars.  Bit too much kareoke though.  Would definately go back.  Was a nice mix of not too loud, not too quiet.  The beach is pretty poor but we knew that before we went.  Some of the shops offer a little bit more than the usual rubbish as well.
