Drunk Corner - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Paul M

This is an absolutly excellent place to enjoy your holiday.  The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, always willing to do anything to make your night enjoyable.  The drinks are always just as you want them and are served with a smile.

We used this pub on many occasions, both day and night and could not have been happier with it, during the day the service and atmosphere for the Lions games was great and at night there was a real party atmosphere.

All in all a top recommendation!

PnP - (Bars in Kalamaki)

This has got to be the bar with the best service in all of Kalamaki.  The guys who work here, Labros the owner and his brother Alexsis (correct me if I'm wrong) would do anything for you, we were in late one night when it was quite cold and Labros gave my mate his jacket because he had forgotten his

The bar is a nice place to sit at night, the drinks and cocktails are excellent and the free shooters they give you are something else (sometimes more than one per drink you order).  The shooters are never the usual cheap local crap, they are mini cocktails and once you have tried a few they ask you what you would prefer.  These guys even try to play the kind of music you would like.

The crepes are a really nice afternoon snack or light lunch and to follow these with one of the excellent pastries really makes a great lunch, the trick here is to try and get out before you've drank too much that you're there for the night.

Bocca BBQ - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

After trying lots of different places in Kalamaki we all decided this was one place we had to go back to.  The steaks were excellent, the starters were varied and tasty and the service was good, what more can you ask for?

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Paul M  (24 June 2005)

After reading all the good reviews of this restaurant it was the first place we headed, what a let down!

The food in this place was at best average, all four of us sat at the end of our meal and where we normally tell each other how good this or that was, there were just 4 disappointed faces.  There were no fussy eaters in our party.

I can see why this place is popular, the range of dishes it does and the (British)style of food appeals to a lot of people.  I eat out a lot at home and when I go somewhere it is only about the food, cost, setting etc. do not matter, if you have a great meal you are more than happy.

Mermaids was not disgusting as some have said but was definatly in the Brewers Fayre bracket. All four of us had differant starters and main courses and noboby said that they would like to return and try anything else. We repeated some of the dishes at other restaurants and were much more impressed with them.  My mate made a great point while we were there, Mermaids would be better serving 20 really good choices than 400 average ones.

Michaelos - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Top notch food and top notch service, the whole experience of eating here was really enjoyable.  We went back here a couple of times and looking back we should have went more.

On our first visit the waiter made a mistake with our bill, when I pointed this out I thought that someone was going to be killed, I have never seen anyone so embarrased.  They staff sorted this out straight away and could have not have been more appologetic.  Really excellent service
