Roseland Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jo G

We flew back from Zante, Kalamaki on Monday 23rd May 2005. The Roseland Hotel was Fantastic! It's the best hotel Ive ever stayed in on a Greek Island. The Room was massive, and had Sky TV, a nice bathroom and clean towels every other day. The bed was re-made every single morning and the staff were lovely. The bar had a Happy Hour from 6pm - 9pm and it had a very good selection of beers and cocktails. There was a pool table and you could also play Table Tennis (which was a laugh)!! The Reception will book you a Taix to anywhere you like, you just ask them and 5 mins later a Taxi is waiting for you. Kalamaki itself was lovely. A busy main road at times but nothing too bad. ALL The restaurants were cheap to eat in and the food was lovely. We tried as many as we could but the best by far was one that was 1/2 the way up the main Kalamaki road and it had steep stairs going down leading into the restaurant. I cant remember what it was called now, but you will know the one when you see the steep stairs, however there is wheelchair access too. It began with a 'P', will update when I can remember! All the super markets were good, but the best on was Gregory's super market. That was at the bottom of the Kalamaki road. I would also recommed the water park. It only opened on the 19th May or something like that, and we went on the Saturday (21st May) and it was dead, which was great as we didnt have to que for any rides, and there were tons of sunbed and free!! also you can pick up some good pictures for 3 euro's. Kalamaki is a good place for couples and families. It does have some good bars like the drunken corner, Cocktails Joes and many more but its not 18-30's - that Laganas. I went there for the night out and that was very 18-30. But it was also a good night out. I WOULD definatly recommed going to the Pink Panther Bar - the DJ is Fantastic and Very funny! Anyway I loved it and will be going back there in a year or so for sure!!! Jo

There was Karaoke and everyone was joining in! The DJ grab my boyfriend and Mike and made them dance to I'm To Sexy and it was a great laugh. The DJ also got them to do a little Greek Dance! V V Funny! They had to dance around a little fire as well!!! Also......everytime you do Karaoke and dance you get a free drink! Bonus! Well worth a visit!!!!

We had our first meal here when we arrived in Kalamaki and it was lovely. We only went once as we were only there for 1 week but we would have gone back again if we have had longer. It was my favorite restaurant (the Pandesia was) but it was still worth a visit!!

We also absolutely loved this place! We had a mix grill for 8,50 euro's which is dirt cheap and it was massive. Came with all the trimmings and you were stuffed afterwards, they also did a mean cheesey garlic bread! The Drinks were normal priced but the food was lovely. We only went twice as we were only there for 1 week, but when we go back we will definatly be dropping by again. You have to go if you get a chance!!!!!

May - (Best Time to Visit)

Jo G

I went from the 16th May until the 23rd of May and it was perfect. The weather was v hot, most days 26 C. I dont think I would like to go any later than May. Peak season would probably be too busy for me, and the airport wasn't that big. However, they are building another terminal to ease things! If I didnt go in May I would probably go in September.

The restaurant I was on about yesterday is called "Pandesia" and its wonderful! Best Mix Grill for 8,50 euro by far!!!!!! The Penne Four Cheeses is lush and so is the Steak :o) They also give you a complimentory shot afterwards, but you do normally get that anywhere. You have to go if you are staying in Kalamaki!!
