Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

I believe there is some form of air-conditioning in a few rooms but you will have such a good time you will be too tired to notice if it is warm! However there are fans in all rooms. There were no fridges in the rooms but the very helpful owners have a fridge available for residents use - if you need it for something particular just ask I have no doubt that the hotel will do everything they can to oblige. I have visited several times with my sister Rosie and we are going back on 11 July this year with my niece can't wait - Hi Yiannis and family see you soon! Are any of the rest of the gang going at the same time?

Rosie - are you on the website at the same time as me - what a coincidence - speak to you tomorrow about arranging to see you on Saturday to try on th holiday gear!!!!!!!

O.K. This is getting silly now. What about practicing over the weekend -will need a few drinks first - still what's new!

Down Under - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C  (31 July 2004)

I find myself having to agree with the comments of Rosie Brown. The live music before 12 was very good, Tiffany's game was also good fun. Unfortunately this bar takes on a completely different character after 12. It changes from a good fun, family type of bar to a seedy, underage venue where young people under the influence of drink alongsde their raging hormones are putting themselves into risky situations - both boys and girls. I too have been witness to the driving skills(?!) of the red mini - didn't realise it was to do with the Down Under.

Had another great holiday. Staff, as usual, more than helpful, clean rooms, nice friendly atmosphere. Can't wait for next year. See you then Yianni McFadden and family.

Down Under - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C  (02 August 2004)

This is in response to Emma and Rosie. Rosie - good on you, I also like to have a good time after 12 and am probably older than you. Emma, glad to note you now understand the world from an older persepective. I am pleased you enjoyed yourself at this bar, I don't know how old you are and you may well be a very responsible young person. It was not the drinking as such that concerned me, and I did not see one fight - what I did see were young people putting themselves at risk of unwanted sexual advances and everything that follows on from this (boys and girls) I'm sure I don't have to spell it out to you. Just because there doesnot seem to be a legal age limit within the law on Zante does not make it morally right for grown ups to be serving alchoholic drinks to children. We are all as adults responsible for the safety and wellbeing of children so I feel entitled to have my opinion of this bar noted.

WELL SAID TOLIS!!!!!!!!

Just had a brief e-mail chat with Yiannis in literally the last five minutes (I should really be working but the holiday is what's keeping me going at the moment!)

See you all soon

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Luton Stefado my eye!!!!  You're Steve from Stevenage.   Lovely picture of you and Wendy, Rosie and I are really looking forward to the holiday - see you all soon

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

I have also just returned from a 2 week stay at Denny's Inn amd had another wonderful time.  Agree with Wendy's comments.  My house is an ex council house on an estate - does that count?  William is of course entitled to his opinion - however he seems unable to make a point without being personal and offensive.  Still anyone reading this site will know that he is a very small majority - most people enjoy their time at Denny's Inn on their hard earned and deserved two week break.  Laying round the pool is the ideal antidote to the stresses and strains of the work we do throughout the year to afford the holiday that we can take where we like when we like and with who we like.  So see you all next year

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

I take it you got back home safely then, Liam?

John - you will have a lovely time at Denny's.  Feel reassured by the many positive comments and I look forward to reading your comments when you return.

Helloe to all those lucky people who stayed on a week after Rosie and I left - hope your journey's back were uneventful and you are all enjoying being back at work.

Shame that some of you had your last Satuday on holiday spoilt by some dodgy football scores - but what about Luton Steve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

Oh Steve how could you - poor old Tolis.  IT IS A VERY FUNNY PICTURE THOUGH

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

Glad to hear you all got home safely.  Some of you have had better luck with your other hobby than others (poor old Tolis and Liam).  Still  It' only a game

Kirsty and Liam I expect you're really looking forward to going back to school!

Poor old Rosie has a had a really bad cold since we got back and has been quite poorly but her last chemo is in 1 week and then she starts radiotherapy. Her birthday falls during this and she has booked for me, her and Kyle to have lunch at the Ivy Restaurant - we will be doing some star spotting there!  We might meet William as he seems to only be interested in the high life!   If so we will tell him some home truths so that he fully understands what he missed at Dennys Inn.

Top of the division, Steve.  How long for?

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C

This is a message from Seamus' old teacher:

Good to see that this bar is getting the reviews it deserves.  Good fun for all the family early on and after 12 does not change into a seedy joint full of underage drinkers as some bars do (you know who you are).  I also met Peter Kay - a lovely bloke - if you read this Peter hope all goes well for you.

Given all the good comments I am surprised the Venue is only getting a 9 out of 10 so if anyone else wants to add their positive comments get on and do so.  All comments about the toilets are accurate - for those who frequent many bars in Kalamaki you will know the importance of  these comments.

So well done lad - good to see you've finally made something of yourself despite what I wrote in your report!

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

Tolis and Yiannis would like to live at Denny's Inn and I expect they do treat it as their second home, but they are holidaymakers like us.  The thing about Denny's Inn is that you are made to feel so welcome it is only too easy to think that you are off to your holiday home for two weeks every year.

If any of the staff are reading this Rosie and I can't wait to get out there and are looking forward to seeing you all

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

Well said Jay,  I gather you must have been reading all the comments about Denny's Inn.  I thought the hoo hah that Mr. Gordon caused had all died down!   Still it is his loss.

In respect of taking irons to Denny's Inn.  I don't take an iron - I have found that if you hang your clothes in the bathroom after a shower the creases will drop out - how about that for a useless bit of information.

Only two and a half weeks to go

Can't wait

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

JOHN MCFADDEN - YOU WILL GET SPOTS ON YOUR TONGUE!!!

See you all soon - can't wait to get out there to the sun, sea, sand, karaoke, mythos, cocktails and the good people at Denny's Inn

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

thanks for the message Alison, John and Kirsty.  Looking forward to seeing you.  For all those other people who will be there around the same time as me and my sister please say hello to us (Jeannie and Rosie)  I'm the quiet one she's the noisy one - you'll have a great time.  I am writing this from my desk in work and I don't have to come back anymore until 2 August hooray!!!!

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

Glad to see you all seem to have got home alright.  You're right Kirst it is really depressing being back at home.  Already the holiday seems a long time ago.  I think I should go to Denny's Inn several times a year!!! Love to you and your mum and dad

Richard I'm glad you realise that I am the quiet one and wondered if you were having a little bit of Technophobia what with your entry being on the website twice! Love to you and Jill

Sorry we did not get the chance to see you Tony, Karen and Liam.

Hope you really enjoyed having the extra week Pete and Ellie.

Hope you are all well and look forward to seeing you all next year and maybe sometime in between.

If Steve and Wendy should see this we missed you!

Lots of love to all at Denny's Inn can't wait for next Summer.

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C

HEY SHAY!!!!   Saw your entry - good to see you read it.  This is your old teacher here -keep up the good work and prove us all wrong!  You can make something of yourself....... How are things with babies etc?  I still can't work out why The Venue does not have a 10 out of 10 perhaps the peole who go on are not ticking the box to register that they liked the bar especialy given the high profile of the toilets

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

Is that strictly true or was than not vodka you were drinking at Andrew's wedding?

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C          10/10

Well Rosie and I will be paying for our holiday this weekend - makes it seem much closer.  Can't wait to see you all again.

Message for dude dude - are you pulling my leg?

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Only 5 weeks to go and boy am I looking forward to it.  I have had a pig of a few weeks at work so I think a few cocktails, a swim and sunbathe should sort me out!  Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C

4 Weeks to go.  I have heard that Steve and Wendy are also coming out this year - does anyone know when as Rosie and I are looking forward to seeing them - we missed them last year.  A mesage for the Mayor - "How is the Vicar?"

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C          10/10

Well lucky old Rosie - home from work.  I am still at work but like Rosie when I read all the comments I get really excited and looking forward to seeing everyone!!

It's a funny thing but I have recently bought some plant food for my hanging baskets and pots but maybe that was not necessary.  I will inspect the plant at Denny's and then perhaps next year it may be cheaper to ply my sister with drink than buy the plant food (it should be more amusing also)  Steve and Wendy you are probably wondering what this conversation is all about and we will tell you when we see you.  Suffice to say it involves too much alchohol and a dustpan and brush - I bet your mind's boggling!!!  It will be great to see you both - we missed you last year.

NOT LONG NOW

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!   Just about to switch off  the computer and go home for the last time before I go on holiday.  Really looking forward to seeing everyone and having some good times.

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Well since my last comment I have spent two great weeks at Denny's Inn and am now unhappily back at work.  Rosie and I had a great time.  We met lots of old friends and had a good time with some new ones.  The Hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and now looks absolutely stunning.  The pool area has also had a face lift.  There have been several visitors both to us and other residents at the hotel who have commented on the high standards of cleanliness and the friendliness of staff.  They also comment that the pool is the cleanest and freshest they have seen with no overbearing smell and taste of chlorine.

Can't wait for next year - lots of love to all at the hotel and THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!!!

Rose n Crown - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C          10/10

Agree with Rosie, Leigh and Paula and staff (steady Eddy) are very friendly and welcoming.  I'm glad they will be running the bar next year and will definately be visiting.  George, hope you have sorted out the CD's for Karaoke!!!

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C          10/10

thanks, Rosie for giving our ages away!!!  Agree that this is a place where all ages can have a good time.  Donna and Tony are great and what can I say about my old pupil??  I wonder if the people who did not like your PR had come across the loveley S?  Rosie is right the greeter who we saw during our holiday was lovely and friendly and very polite.  It's a rotten job!!!  See you all next year and thanks for a great time.

You're right, Wendy, the hotel looks absolutely lovely all the refurbishments are excellens and tasteful!   Glad to see you are talking about going back next year - that's what makes Denny's Inn so great, people love it and go back year after year and make friends along the way.  Glad you got back ok - I understand that there was one night when you also put away a fair bit of Metaxa!

Would love to meet up with our Denny's Inn friends now we are back in blighty!!

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C          10/10

Thought I would comment on the PR debate!  As I said previously I did not find the PR girl pushy at all.  If you really want to see a pushy PR then go to the other end of the strip and be harrassed by PR for the really nice pasta place upstairs - he was pushy but would not stop me going in as I know it to be a great place to eat!  I think the fact that the Venue has stayed open in what are difficult times in Kalamaki speaks for itself as I am aware that even this year some new bars have closed mid-season including one of those recommended by the Venue's critics.

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C          10/10

Well said Sharon - good to see people standing up and being counted and supporting each other - there's lot of competition out there!  My my sister and I really like the Venue and were disappointed with the negative comments.  Nico, Tony and Donna run a brilliant bar and work really hard to ensure everyone has a good time.  Plus some of the cleanest toilets in Kalamaki!

Mustn't forget the FGC, Seamus!.

Long Story Bar - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C (20 August 2007)

Where is this bar?  Was very impressed with Sharon's comments in respect of the competition, sound like good people!  Will make sure we visit next year!

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Jean C          10/10

I also met some nice people there, in fact I think it was you!!!!!!  The Kalamaki message board on the right hand side of the screen will let you put on more reviews of your favourite places and speak to other people who have had a good time both in Kalamaki and the Venue.

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Jean C          10/10

Mike I'm sure you and your girlfriend will have a great time.  There are lots of places to see and I am sure your rep will give you the info   Alternatively you can book direct with some of the sights e.g. trips round the island etc.  A car is great if you are confident driving on the other side of the road and means you can suit yourself what when and where you visit.

The main bars are a short walk away and the 18-30's in big groups are not normally a feature of Denny's Inn although there are some of the 40-60's that come home very late........but we do keep quiet.

If you are at Denny's for 2 weeks please say hello to me and my sister as we are arriving on 17th

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)
