Freddies Beach Bar - (Bars in Tsilivi)

Neil K

I didn't get chance to add my ratings when I mentioned this bar wasn't originally included in the bars/clubs of Tsilivi, So I don't know where the average status came from? Definately not a 4 out of 10 place!!!! This bar has all you need for a relaxing holiday. Is 8, pushing 9 out of ten on all fronts. Cocktails are better than 10 out of 10!

Freddies Beach Bar - (Bars in Tsilivi)

At the Planos end of the resort, near (150 yards) to Tsilivi watersports. Newly set up this May, run by Robert, Risa, Rory and Jackie (Its called Freddies after their dog - who all the kids love) who will only close when you're ready to stop drinking. Really good place for relaxing in the evenings, prop up the bar and chat, share a joke etc etc. Never packed like the bars on the main road, so you can hear yourself think, definately for the more chilled out scene, waves a splashing away in the background. During the day, its very busy serving a variety of dishes, the sunbeds they offer down onto the beach are reasonably priced and for that you can use their showers and (I sound like my mum here) very clean toilets. They get these little things right, which mean you dont have to worry about them and can enjoy your stay the more for it.

Ark Bar - (Bars in Tsilivi)

Went a few times, and I dont know how they stay open. Profit can't be the reason they're in business as Niko's must drink a skinful every night. Fair play to the fella, he's got the constitution of an Ox. As long as you go and stay!they'll look after you to the hilt. Free Red Vodka shots for anyone there more then two drinks worth. Very busy, loads of party mood people there.

I saw Elvis walk past one night, he wasn't looking very well though!

Enigma Nightclub - (Bars in Tsilivi)

Neil K  (11 July 2003)

Was empty almost every night! For a place that's mean't to be a buzzin' nightclub, it never seem so to me, the only night it was busy was when a pub crawl finished in it. That said, the music was pretty good, and drinks nice. Never stuck around that long as there was always more noise coming from other places, so went there instead to investigate.
Our Rep however told us that once the season kicks in proper (? - We went last week of June/ First week July) it really is a club to rival any in Lagana's. Give it a go anyway.

Gerakas Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Neil K

If you have a young family, it's okay for a half day. There's nothing here apart from the stunning scenery (Very nice but get there early to enjoy it), which unfortunately is spoiled by the other 10000 tourists on the beach any time after 10.30am. There's nothing in the way of beach bars or other entertainment. Simply a beach, which you cannot overly enjoy as it's Turtle hatching season, (Fair enough, they were here long before us lot) but this means they'll only let you on the first 3 meters or so from the shoreline, the rest is an enivronmentally protected area.
For Couples, it's very nice (again only if you get there early enough to enjoy it) and would no doubt be a romantic place first thing in the morning (or last thing at night), when you can enjoy it for yourself a bit.
Otherwise, its a bay/suntrap/oven, screaming kids, lovely beach, shallow water for kids (and theres loads of em) to wee in the water.

St Nickolas Beach Diving School - (Diving in Zante)

Absolutely Fabulous. Have never dived before and was perhaps slightly unsure of what to expect beforehand. After being fully refunded at the last minute when we we're both ill on the day of this excursion organised by our reps, we kept their number and went another day. Before the try dive, they take you through the equipment, tell you what you will and won't do, (on the try dive theres a guy who swims above you and does all the neutral boyancy stuff with your jacket so you don't have to worry)you sign a medical form which is Rigiorous but necessary. A couple who were flying that night were turned down from going out (Something to do with the pressures less than 12 hours before departure) which was a shame for them, but made us feel doubley confident in the school's safety standards. They really were very good. Then we were off, clear waters, shoals of silver saddleback fish and a massive squid (Well 18 inches) which squirted ink at us - Cool. 20 - 30 minutes later we emerged with tired legs and very much elated. Excellent value for giving a proper diving taster of the big blue yonder.
