Green Frog - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Chris I

Staff could have smiled a bit more.Food average OK for lunchtime snacks but no 'restaurant'atmosphere at night. Free papers avaliable also sunday lunch.Karaoke nights popular.

Afrodite - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Chris I  (01 July 2001)

rooftop restaurant but downstairs seating also.Food was absoluyely fantastic. One of the best.Greek meals in clay pots recommended including Beef Argassi.TIP,go to gift shop next door first & on counter they have 10% off cards for Afrodite.(think shop is called Mosaic)

The Factory - (Bars in Argassi)

Chris I  (01 July 2001)

Best breakfast in Argassi with proper english bacon. Charlie the clown & staff slightly annoying when walking past but they do a great job. Free shots in here.70's abd 80's disco great.Bar which turns into a club at the back later.

Beer Academy - (Bars in Argassi)

Chris I

Great place opposite Hotel eleana with 2 pool table 300 drachmas.Waitress service very good.Great place for sports as they have largest screen in Argassi. It has been opemed 2 years.Ask to see photos from 2000 & 2001 and you'll notice the difference and how well Nicos and his staff have done.Great Karoake night, best in Argassi.

Red Lion - (Bars in Argassi)

Chris I  (01 July 2001)

OK pub which sells english beers inc;guiness, carling.Pool table & games at the back.Dont be tempted to go to Karaoke night.Crap system which cuts out & nobody can hear you at the back.

Captains Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Chris I

Carolyn, your husband will be fine,Amstell & Mythos are greek beers(mythos not as heavy)but in Argassi you can find bars ie Red Lion on main road with carling,Tetley & all english beers. Did not stay at Captains hotel but there are quite a few play areas for kids.Alson just out of town there is a fun castle which is a adventure place with go-carts,bouncy castles and reptile house.listen out for the man in the car advertising it.Have fun.Lyn Instone

The hotel itself is excellant very clean with a good pool.Good location for shops, restaurants & bars butcan get very noisy esp if you have a room overlooking pool, you will get noise from Factory as it backs on to hotel pool. Also there is a dog barking constantly from somewhere which is annoying.

Eleana Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Chris I

Hoel great location ,very clean with a good pool which is cleaned daily.Poolside bar serves snacks but beware the wrath of Dorothy if you bring any food or water from outside(cheaper from superMarket next door)Basically if your face fits in this hotel you'll be fine otherwise Angela the receptionist will be a cow and George the owner will compltely blank you,he is a very ignorant man.Dana his wife is lovely though.BEWARE Thassos the MARRIED barman if you are female.George has had many compliants about him in the past but has not done anything about him.Complain about anything at your peril.Try Karen the rep instead.

Papillon - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Chris I

Excellant restaurant specillising in pizza & italian dishes watching the man throwing the pizzas is great.Pizzas thin ,crispy and very tasty.Great value for money.

Piccadilly - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Chris I

Picadilly is a fantastic restaurant, you cant miss it as it has got the most gorgeous water feature at the front. The service is excellant very professional.Say hi to Peter from Lyn & Chris(he also works in the beer Academy during day)Would recommend the Meze and the desserts come with a sparkler.

Target Bar Taverna - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Chris I

We had 2 fantastic nights here for the sunset BBQ.Go to the board at the top of the hill near Beer academy around 8pm and the girl will ring you a free taxi from the bar.The views are unbeleivable where you can see over to Zante Town and Agassi at night all lit up.For 3.500 (£6.50)you get bread, greek salad & tziziki, kebab, pasta dish or pizza, all the red/wite wine you can drink and great entertainment from the greek dancers. There are about 6/7 dancers all aged around 12 years but they get everyone up dancing including dancing for ouzo.Great kids esp Stella.Oh and you get a free taxi back again just in case you cant walk after all that wine!!

Double - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Chris I

You can't miss this place due to PUSHY PETER.Nice bloke but too much.Has to try & entice you inside because you would not go otherwise.Food terrible.I had steak except I don't think it was.Expensive for what you get.

Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cruise - (Zante Excursions)

Chris I

Booked in Argassi through Amelia(v.pushy)to go on Olympic Sun.Very long day did not manage to get on shipwreck as captain said was too rough!!Had beach stop on Kampi beach-pebbly, but swim stop was excellant very clear sea-cant remeber where but next to Keri caves.Disappointed with blues caves & Keri caves as were given the impression would be going in/very nears caves.Take some lunch/drink with you as on borad supplies expensive.

Eleana Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

The unwritten rules are as follows; No swimming in the pool or be at pool side after 6pm prompt.George will kick you out. No food/drinks at pool side from outside other wise you be be 'told off' by snackbar attendant. No food in room or you will be told off by cleaner. No getting comfy or trying to move furniture in bar area to sit with friends or you will be told off by owner. Dont leave your sunbed with towels on unattended or you may come back to find them on grass area with a non resident on your sunbed.(pool open to all, annoying when you have paid for facilities and can't get sunbed) Dont come in too late at night, or early morning especially DON'T make ANY noise.Your key will be waiting for you on reception as though they are waiting up for you. Watch reception area.Angela has a tendency to wander off leaving keys to rooms unattended.!! Make sure you pay for drinks at bar when you have them.Tassos has a tendency to make his'complimentary drinks'rule up to suit his moods. If making calls in room/reception dont spend too long on phone or you will be asked who you are ringing and why even though you are paying for the call. Any more info required, please ask.The hotel is fine for kids including some lilos you can use in the pool curtesy of hotel.Apart from the above, hotel is lovely-just the staff.ENJOY.

Village Inn - (Restaurants in Zante Town)

Chris I

Restaurant is on the main road in Zante town.Walk through the restaurant to the outside where it is like a small oasis with palm tress and flowers growing over.Food excellant with excellant service to go with it.They even have their own house wine with the restaurants name printed on which is recommended. There is also a resident peacock which walks through the place to get its dinner. If you dont see it you'll hear it.Fantastic place.

I stayed at this hotel a couple of months ago and have found all the comments on the staff to be very true ie; rude, moody, etc.I would like to point out that yes it is YOU as a holiday maker that makes the holiday but at the end of the day you are paying for the hotel services and surely it is not too much to ask for a friendly bunch of staff to enhance your holiday as you relax around the pool/bar area. After all your hotel is your base for a great holiday. If the hotel was dirty it would spoil your holiday and you would complain so why not if the staff are plain ignorant. I know that when I was there, the barman was chatting up a guest but in my opinion be he "separated " or not he should behave in a professional manner whilst working in an environment like that. Perhaps the owners of the hotel Eleana should take note of what has been written about their hotel as I'm sure if it was my business that I would take a long hard look my staff, attitude and general outlook. As for writting our comments on the computer, that is what it is there for, to let other prospective holiday makers know about the hotel and safe to say, my comments have also been relayed to the Thomson Holiday group who are now aware of all situations that arose whilst holidaying there.
