Cronulla Hotel

Accommodation in Kalamaki

Carol P

Yes they have just made a small price increase but they haven't increased their prices for three years. Can't think of anywhere in the UK where prices have remained the same for that long.

This is a great place whether you choose to stay there or use the bar and they go out of their way to make everyone welcome.

Mike R

Just come back from the Cronulla, although typical standard studios which were generaly clean we had some concerns over towel supplies(white & only replaced once in the week.) WE had two towels each, and for the first four days no bath mat. Which meant we used one of the available towels on the floor, or broke our necks on the wet tiles (no shower curtains). The toilet would not clear waste,(say no more)also in an attempt to clean the toilet we had to pour bleach down it. I would also advise anybody going there to take some air freshener, because there is no ventilation at all in the bathroom.
The bar is friendly, but beware of the price "HIKES" I was told that last week two small beers were three euros, but this week they were 4, somebody else complained that they were charged more for a round and of drinks and were told "the boss has increased the price"
You will probably meet Jason if you go,(holiday rep)nice guy but a bit of a control freak.God help you if you don't fill in your comment forms. Be wary of booking trips, they are cheaper if you book indepentdly, and if you book them with the rep use a credit card, you have some guarantee then.

This hotel was friendly run with a great atmosphere. It was located in the resort centre of kalamaki. The family who run this hotel made you feel really welcome and would do anything at all to help you. The entertainment was brill on a night especially with the club reps which were there at the time. I would go back to this hotel again and again as it was a fab holiday and i would gladly reccomend it to anyone.

We are going home again in 4 weeks time to the Cronulla.Over the past 7 years we have been many times to this fantastic hotel and are looking forward to seeing the Kakoliris family Dia , Stellios, Dimitri,Lisa, Tassos, Nadia, Robi, Fotez, little Stellios, and beautiful Christina. We have tried various island resorts in Greece and although we did not find a bad one, the top of our list is and always will be The Cronulla as we get treated like family.Love to them all and see you in 4 weeks.Annie & Charlie.

Nick H

We stayed at the Cronulla in May 2003, we loved it so much we are going back this year and taking all the family with us.. Good & safe for children.

Dea, Steve, Jimmy, Tommy & George really made us feel welcome and noting is to much trouble, the food and drink was fantastic.
Rooms are a little basic but who goes on holiday to stay in their room..
well recomended if you want a relaxing holiday.!!

Angie

We visited Zante in September 2003 and we had an absolutely fantastic time, although we did not stay at the Cronulla we spent most of our time there, the hotel was fantastic. Jimmy and Tommy and the gang were friendly and we spent quite a few nights with them getting drunk on beer and whisky.

Although we didnt stay at the hotel we were able to use its facilities free of charge. The pool and the surrounding areas were really clean. We could not fault anything about this hotel. We are visiting Zante next year and we will definately be staying at the Cronulla and we have no hesitation in recommending it to other.

I first stayed with Dia, Steve, Robin, Jimmy and Tom the year they opened. Boy, has the complex changed since then (as has Kalamaki!) They are a wonderful family and GREAT hosts who treat you as one of their own, (I send them all my love). I have returned to Kalamaki 9 times in the past 15 years and it is still a GREAT place to go. I was able introduce the family to my new husband in 2002 and we cannot wait to get back and see them again soon. We travel alot, all over and get away aprox 3 times a year so it must be special to want to return. As others have already pointed out book throug ARGO holidays http://www.argo-holidays.com/
PS> Angels what a great resturant, shame about all the silly comments on the web site about the bar!

can you tell me the email address for the cronulla hotel zakynthos please

Karen S

You could not fault the very warm welcome and help from Dea Stelious and family you felt at home. As all greek apartments very basic but very clean no toaster the reason being we think you would use the snack bar. The pool was very nice hence a lot of visitors from outside making it quite busy. The local area has all you need the food is very good the Gura just near the cronulla is quite expensive, best value was a taverna called Escape which is down the beach road as there were 6 of us we were pleased with good prices and good food.

Sandra W

A fantastic holiday that was relaxing and enjoyable. Apartments basic but clean. Family and staff welcoming and friendly. Easily the best place to stay in Kalamaki!!! Plenty of choice of places to eat and drink. Planes do fly over but after a day you do not notice them. Be warned - no air conditioning but fans are available in stores to hire (a must!!)A definate return visit on the cards.

Sandra P

Our 2nd visit to Cronulla in 3 years, the biggest change from 2001 was the number of same sex young people staying there. This spoiled the family atmosphere around the pool area and caused some broken nights sleep due to shouting, music and jumping in the pool at 5am. Shame really as the family who own Cronulla are as nice as ever and make you feel very welcome. The apartments are exclusive to Argo and they should try to ensure that the rowdies stay in Laganas where they can make as much noise as they like! The amount of traffic on the road outside has increased considerably too.

Carol P

Our third stay here and we were not disappointed. Yes Ok the rooms are basic but this is to be expected in Greece. They are however very clean and to be fair if they had all mod cons would you ever use them - after all it's a holiday. All the family were as usual very friendly and we also saw people, who like us, return on a regular basis. The weather was so hot we made good use of the excellent pool and lunches from the snack bar were a welcome break from the sun.

Louise B

Although the rooms aren't great everything else makes up for it. The pool is fantastic and the snack bar has quite a good choice and the bar has plenty of drinks to tickle your fancy. You really feel like part of the family stopping there. Dia and her sons are fantastic and very entertaining, especially when working behind the bar. Not to near the centre of town so its just quiet enough and only 5-10 walk to the beach and even better only literatually 5 mins from the airport. Would definitely go and stop there again.

Alison C

We have stayed at the Cronulla twice now, and we are greeted by the family as if we were family. Steve and Dia and all of their family make everyone most welcome, and we can not wait to return, hopefully at the end of this year.

Lesley B

7 times in 6 years, must be the best....dont miss the greek night, and make sure you dont eat anything all day, great food and plenty of it, dia, steve, jimmy, george, little tom and the rest.. wonderful people who work really hard to make sure your holiday is a good one,

Kate` P

the cronulla is exclusive to the argo holiday company so will need to book with them

Muriel W

We booked the Cronulla through the Argo Holidays Greece.

Alison M

Johanne Haldane and Jane Bretheron - how did you book the Cronulla?

Alison M

We saw the Cronulla when we were on holiday in Zante in 2001 and we are desperatley trying to find how to book it for June this year, but it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere! I have even been in contact with the Greek Tourist Board who have no idea! Can anyone help, is there a website or telephone number?

Emma C

near all of the good night spots, rooms were ok, pool was geat and the snackbar was brilliant.

Jane B

My boyfriend & I stayed at the Cronulla in August 2001. We loved the resort & the apartments were lovely. Everyone was really friendly - met some fab people - and the weather was gorgeous. We are hoping to go back very soon, but this time for 2 weeks instead of 1. We definitely recommend it!

Johanne H

I will be staying at the Cronulla Apartments at the beginning of June this year with my boyfriend.

I would be grateful for any information you could give me on the apartments and the resort itself.

Susan C

Have visited Zante previously but stay in different apartments, who would be the best travel company to book with for the cronulla??

Susan L

steve, dias and family the nicest people we,ve ever met. 5 times at cronulla no way can we not go again. We love it.

Paul H

myself and girlfriend emma enjoyed a 2 week stay at cronulla in june it was our first holiday together just a good mix of nightlife and relaxation staff are really friendly and helpfull.aircraft noise is bearly noticeable food and drink rrreally cheap and tasty really ennnnjoyed our stay and am just about to book for next year so go and enjoy people !

Howard B

OK is just about right, the rooms are big but basic no shower curtain so everything gets wet, what did not help was that the towels only get changed once during a one week stay. The main road is on the door step with constant daytime traffic although at night not to bad, aircraft noise not bad during the day starts at 06:30 am.Good bar and snack bar[very resonable]friendly family who own the property. To sum up---not bad value for what we paid but would not have liked to pay the full brochure price.

Alan H

Hmmm. We enjoyed our stay, and the family that run the hotel couldn't have been more helpful, but..... Our towels and linen were only changed once, on the Thursday, when we had arrived on Sunday. The bin in the toilet was only emptied twice, Wednesday and Friday. We asked for two alarm calls - both were over 30 minutes late! Our ceiling fan stopped working on Tuesday, even after two requests, it never got fixed. Regardless of what the rep said - the beach is a 20 minute walk away! Also, because the hotel is on the main road/airport junction, I managed to distinguish all 6 types of motor vehicle by their engine and/or brakes by Sunday. Apart from that - we genuinely enjoyed ourselves - honest! But after reading some of the previous comments, I thought that we were going to be staying at the Ritz!

Kathryn S

Great family run hotel, with large pool, large rooms, close to all bars, restaurants and a 10 min walk to the beach

Mark & Traci

This was our second vist and not our last the owners great fun the best greek night on the island a holiday you wil love 10/10 to all the staff

Robsue

first time staying at the cronulla. clean rooms, lovely pool, very friendly and helpful family who run it. Many a good drink had in bar, especially on Elvis night, worth the visit.

Carol P

Just returned from two weeks at Cronulla which was brilliant. This is our 6th visit to Kalamaki and after staying at Cronulla last year we feel we have found the perfect location for us. Rooms are quite big, and very clean. The pool is the best we have come across which also goes for the bar/snack area. The restaurants in the resort offer something for everyone but we found ourselves returning to Paolos which we visited on our first stay in Kalamaki and is still, in our opinion, a great place to spend an evening. Just wish Kalamaki had a bank/cash machine it would make life so much easier. Can't wait to return again.

Tracie L

I'm considering booking a holiday at either the cronulla aparthotel, or denney's hotel. how near to the beach are they? is it a real trek? thanks for any help you can give

Ann W

We really enjoyed our two weeks from 19 May except as you say Muriel for the couple from Liverpool. The weather was marvellous, food marvellous (as usual)and we made some brilliant friends Tom & Lynne, Trevor and Anita who we met last year (different weeks though amazingly enough), Colin and Margaret..and never forgetting Spike and John. I expect we will be going back again next year (if not before).

Lesley B

just got back after another brilliant two weeks in this lovely place, cannot recommend it highly enough, great rooms, pool, people, laughs. see you in september!!!.

Karen R

We have stayed here twice over three visits to Zante, the first before the hotel was expanded considerably and a pool added. We find this hotel excellent. The family who run it are very helpful and friendly and the location is excellent. We will most definately return in the future.

Muriel W

We stayed here from 19 May till 2 June it was the best we have stayed at so far. Except for the fighting Liverpool Couple, give the English a bad reputation. Very clean and helpful and pleasent staff. Would definitely stay here again. Loveley tavernas eaten some great food. Plenty to do for all ages.

Wendy B

Have not been back for 10 years to Zante after 5 visits, but am returning in a week. Unfortunalty not to the Cronulla. But look out Steve and Dia I'll be popping in to see you Wendy from Surrey

Lindsey R

The hotel is situated right in the centre of Kalamaki, short walk to beach and near lots of restaurants. Everything is very clean. Spacious rooms. Biggest swimming pool on the island. Family that run it are really friendly and will do anything for you. We can't wait to go back. Definitely recommend it.

Jamie A

The cronulla aparthotel is an exelent place for adults and teenagers.i`m 15 years old and i thought when i went there it would be boring but i found out there was a bar connected to th hotel in which is realy fun for adults and children of all ages. The nightlife is realy good and is a great place to go.I found the pool a realy good size for a swim and to have fun in.

Carol P

We stayed here last year and after many visits to Zante have found the best place to stay. The rooms are a good size and very clean as is the rest of the hotel. Loved the pool area and always managed to find a bed. Everyone was very friendly and we enjoyed it so much we are going back again in a couple of weeks.

Ann W

We went to Cronulla in May 2001 on a teletext bargain holiday. (Our second visit to Zante) It was brilliant: pool very clean; rooms very clean; bar snacks excellent prices. Family run and nothing too much trouble. We had such a good holiday, we are going back in 5 days time (19 May) for another two weeks. Can't wait. Kalamki is a good resort - I would recommend the DOWN UNDER bar which is on the Kalamaki/Laganas Road for good fun and great cocktails. There is plenty going on and if you want more, Laganas is a very cheap short taxi ride away. Ann

Muriel W

We are going to Cronulla in May we havent been to Cronulla before but been to Kalamaki 2000, will let you know when we get back 2nd June

Alan L

Going to Cronulla Aparthotel in June 2x couples and 2 teenagers, whats the night life like for the teenagers please, and the adults

Jenny M

we had a fab time, it was a great and relaxing, we hire a car and when around the whole island in a day. if you are thinking of booking then go because it is brilliant. jo and jenny

Lesley B

We have stayed here for the last 5 years, and have already booked for next year. Its the best on the island, Don't miss Dia's barbecue, its brilliant. The family do everything to make sure you have a great relaxing holiday. Lovely people, friendly atmosphere, counting 'sleeps' till we see you next year. Lesley and Ian

Claire F

I stayed at the Cronulla last year and had a fantastic holiday. The rooms are clean, it has the best pool and the owners and staff make you feel very welcome.

Karl P

Excellent base for a holiday in Kalamaki, for us the best resort on Zante. A lack of storage, but the rooms were quite large and very clean. Lovely pool area, so nice that a lot of outsiders used the pool making it quite busy in mid July 2001.Friendly bar serving reasonably priced food and drink. Family run hotel, they speak perfect English. We will definately go back!

Colin

We are staying at the Cronulla Studios in Kalamaki in mid July. Any comments, tips, advice about the hotel/resort? Please let us know on cphillips@york100.fsbusiness.co.uk Thanks Colin & Maureen

Alan S

Swimming pool big. Good location. Friendly staff.

Karen M

Cronulla Hotel is ideally situated and room are very spacious. However there is no table or chairs indoors so if you get cool morning/evenings (like we did in May)there is no-where to sit and eat breakfast indoors. - No draining board area next to sink neither. Apart from that the pool and bar was excellent and the owners/staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back again.(Aircraft noise from 6.30am)

Barry C

We stayed at the Cronulla Hotel in Aug 2000. The hotel is family run and they are very friendly. The hotel's rooms are very spacious and all come with roof fans for cooling down. The swimming pool is big. The bar and snack bar are both excellent, serving anything you need. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Kalamaki. If you are looking for a great holiday look no futher that Cronulla.
