Dear Monica, casual/tidy attire is fine for this restaurant, ie skirt and blouse, or trousers etc. Just bring a light jacket with you, because it can be very cool in the evenings, especially in May. Enjoy your meal.

There is only one place to stay on Zante if you like a noisy night or you want to get away from the noise & relax & thats Argassi.A mixture of atmospheres to please everybody. The place that epitomises all that you could want is tucked away on a hill & if you don't fancey the stunning but very strenous walk the "Target Bar"lays on a free bus service to get you there & once you have sampled the wonderful hospitality(free wine with the 3 nightly Bar-B-Ques on Greek nights)a lift back to keep you upright long enough to find your bed & sleep it off.
The Kotsonis family always ensure you will have a wonderful night & Nikos creates a very relaxed & friendly atmosphere. You could not get better value for money, better food, better service anywhere on the Island & probably from what we've heard & seen anywhere else in Greece. There are many signs that say "Best view of the Island"there are none that are justified more than that from the elevated postion of the "Tareget Bar"If you have'nt sampled the delights of the "Target Bar" & it's wonderful hosts, then you cannot truly say you have visited Zante-DON'T MISS IT!!!!! Even on busy nights it is still better than most other restaurants & that includes maybe personel variations for special likeband dishes.
Greek nights are every Tuesday,Thursday & Saturday & are family based & still in a relaxed atmosphere but you may fancey the quiet nights & just consume the wonderful view with a nice relaxed meal & plenty of what you fancey to wash it down with.Eveything you could want.
To our good friends Nikos,Dennis Mary Dennis Junior & not forgetting Nikos & Dennis Farther.See you all again ASAP
Margaret,Paul & Karen
Nikos,
Your friends from Holland Pieter & Ineke send there love & look forward to there 3weeks Hols in September every night of which is spent at the "Target".xx

The Target bar on top of the hill must be one of the best places in the world. Right at the top of the hill, 10 min walk uphill but worth it (Nikos will come and get you after 6.00 in the evening - and take you home again if you prefer tramsport rather than to roll back down the hill ! What a nice bloke, great food, cheap prices and views of Zante which are suberb. Nikos really looks after you and entertains the kids when he has time. BBQ nights are great but you dont have to have the set menu, you can order from the regular menu if you prefer. We go to Zante most years and haven't found anywhere yet that caters so well for the whole family.

Andrea K

only one thing to say about this resturant is go there we ate here nearly every night after getting ripped off on the main strip.
recommend the greek salad and the souvlaki.Nikos was fantastic the bill came to next to nothing and the free drinks he give to everyone very generous.
We were drinking the house red only 3 euros a bottle nikos was giving us one free every night and that was not on top of the free brandys he was handing out to everyone.
The free transport was really great belive me you would not be able to walk it it is in the hills and the views is great.
We went end of season so the greek nights were not on but it was still fantastic.

so nikos if you ever get to read this we were the couple who had the little boy called josh who always wanted to help you he loved the little orange drinks you made him in the little glasses.
Hope to see you all soon.

Found it a bit late in the hols, but was fantastic. We walked to
it but there's a free bus at the end of the hill. The view is breathtaking, the staff are very friendly, the food and wine was yummie and really cheap. DON'T MISS IT.

The M

Only went up here for lunch and it is a long way up, but that's what makes the view so worthwhile when you get here. Good food, real chips (not the skinny maccydees variety!) and good prices.
If you have a hire car then take time to 'do lunch' up here and don't forget your camera.

Barbara G

Hi Andy, the BBQ nights at the Target are usually on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. They stay open until the last person leaves! And if you ask to speak to Nikos, he speaks very good
English! You won't be dissapointed, Have a great time! Wish I was
coming with you!

Andy S

Going to Argassi next week, and fancy a visit to the Target Bar.The drink as much wine as you like sounds fab!!!Can anybody tell me which nights are BBQ night and Greek night, and what time does the place stay open to? Also when you ring up for the free transport,do you speak to an English speaking person? Thanks, Andy

Kellie S

Definately well worth a visit because the views are amazing, If your sitting outside to eat beware of the wasps!! We ended up sitting indoors in the end! The food was lovely and really cheap and there is a little bus that will take you back down the hill for free.

Russ F

What a fantastic view across the bay, well worth a visit purely for that reason. The taverna also provides a free pick up and drop off service simply ring 42482.

Nick Y

What a fantastic setting! The views across the bay to Zakynthos town and beyond are brilliant - be there at sunset, not to be missed. Food was great, go on the "Greek Night" as this was fun and the set meal including as much wine as you can drink is a very reasonable 12 Euros per head. Unless very fit take the free bus as the climb is very steep. We walked back down which was ok. Go there!

G M

the target ia a definate place to visit. the food is supurb and very reasonable, Nikos was very helpful, we left our camera at the restaurant and he brought it down to our hotel when they had shut!great views and great food, house red was only 3 euros a bottle!

Barry N

Went here for lunch one day (had to walk as the free transport doesn't start til 6. The walk is well worth it just for teh view. Had a pizza, greek salad and a bottle of water, (plenty for 2) and the bill came to 9 euros. fantastic. worth the walk alone

Sarah T

Fantastic place! We decided to walk to Target, it's not far but the
hill is steep, there is free transport - which we took back down to
Argassi (after having too much wine and metaxxa with Nikos!).
Food is so reasonably priced and good too! Views are just to die
for. All the staff are really friendly - especially Nikos, who gave us
many free drinks! It's a must to visit Target if you're going to
Argassi!

Barbara G

I've just found this site and although I haven't been for a couple of
years now, I must make a comment on Target. The best place in Zakynthos, great food, and service, Nicos and his family are very friendly!! The view from there is fantastic. Greek Nights 3 times a
week with set menu and lots of wine!! Fantastic value. Free transport if you need it 'cos it is quite a climb to get up there,
but well worth it. Can't wait to go back again!!

Vanessa K

Brilliant views from high above Argassi saw amazing lightning storm across mainland. Went on BBQ night so had plenty of free wine and food was lovely for just 12e each, got huge greek salad, bread, tatziki, pork gyros done on an outside BBQ and chips. Greek dancing was OK but not as professional as I have seen before, dancers were very young and seemed to be doing it to earn a bit more pocket money! Very friendly atmosphere and deffinatly the best place we visited in the week were were in town. Pick up the free transport from the notice board on the right hand side of the road (where the fork is) just up on the opposite side of the Beer Acadamy. Went in Sept and was quite chilly on the hill in the evening but once wine started to kick in was nice and warm ! Toilets are very clean which is always a good sign.

Pauline C

It's not really a long walk up the hill but it's very steep although they do run a pick up service if you can't make the walk. Lovely views combined with lovely food. The menu was quite limited but seemed pretty authentic. It was also very reasonable. I think it would probably be better if you went on one of the barbeque nights.

Cassie P

went here last morning for breakfast-hard walk up the hill but really worth it for the food and view -both a must do

Christopher L

This restaurant is a must for anyone visiting Argassi. The views from the top of the hill are spectacular, and if you get there early (before sunset) the service is excellent also. This is also a very cheap place to eat, very good value for money.

Keith W

Great night out. Free transport there and back, cheapest meal (advertised as BBQ) at 12 Euro, including a much local wine as you could drink. This might have had some to do with me joining in the Greek Dancing. Stunning views. All staff extremely friendly and efficient.

Nadeem B

10 / 10 !!! perfect!! what more can you say. Free transport there and back if you want it! Great food - Cheapest place i ate it as well!! (He should put prices up!!) Stunning Views and so romantic! The services was great, really friendly -We went here 3 times in 7 nights once we found it!! Our favourite place along with Illision (although Afrodites food was wicked!!) You MUST GO HERE!!!! Nad and Laura

Catherine

Went up for the views but unfortunately it rained and you couldnt see argassi town. The owner very friendly and ran us back to our apartment because it was raining so hard. Went up again when fine and the food was excellent and so cheap. Well worth a visit.

John G

W went twice to Target, (once for our Wedding Anniversary). The views are incredible and worth the free taxi free ride up the hill. A word of warning to budding Greek Dancers, make sure you're fit for the Ouzo drinking dance !. If you're going to Argassi, don't miss this venue. The meal of Greek salad, tsazaki, and Souvalaki with chips at 12 Euros per adult, and all the home made wine you can drink was great value.

Jock S

Yeah, the last comment just about sums it up. The views are fantastic, drink is chilled, food just a tad warmer but still perfectly reasonable. Overall 10/10

Keith M

There is a free transport service from the town up to the restaurant. There are fantastic views over the resort and as far as mainland Greece. Only small pointb was that the food was not piping hot as most other restaurant but the quality was excellent. Keith Miller - 23/07/2002

Jenni R

What a lovely romantic setting, overlooking the town, well worth the walk. Food and service were tip top, i would highly recommend going here for a superb evening

Steve L

This was one of our favourite locations,in the day restfull and a 5* view, in the evening some of the friendliest greek dancers on earth, all very young and energetic, Denis is the only one I could pronounce.Look out for the signs in the Town they offer free transport to their Panoramic position, just a few minutes away. They even put some Rock & Roll on for us especially, so we could then show off, they loved it and so did we!

The G

saturday night entertainment was very good. friedly service, good food, good drinks, especially mythos on draught,in iced glasses. wish we were there now. even if it is 90 degrees here now.

Jo M

We read about this place on the web site and agree it was excellent. If you pick up a leaflet from the Jungle bar there is a phone number that you can call and they will pick you up from your hotel. We went up to watch the sunset and sat outside which was lovely but we missed out on the dancing as all the tables inside were taken. So if you want to stay all night and watch the dancing sit inside. Food was great and excellent value for money.

Chris I

We had 2 fantastic nights here for the sunset BBQ.Go to the board at the top of the hill near Beer academy around 8pm and the girl will ring you a free taxi from the bar.The views are unbeleivable where you can see over to Zante Town and Agassi at night all lit up.For 3.500 (£6.50)you get bread, greek salad & tziziki, kebab, pasta dish or pizza, all the red/wite wine you can drink and great entertainment from the greek dancers. There are about 6/7 dancers all aged around 12 years but they get everyone up dancing including dancing for ouzo.Great kids esp Stella.Oh and you get a free taxi back again just in case you cant walk after all that wine!!

Paul

Even if you dont want anything to eat make the trip up the hill because the view is superb. Its about 300m from the end of the shops up the hill from the beer acadamy. It will take you about 20minutes to walk there but on a night time the owner provides a free taxi for the greek nights these are excellent value at 3500drs for a BBQ buffet and free wine all night. Dont pay anymore for a Greek night when you can go there for 6.50

Nick D

Great views, try and get there for sunset. They are recognised as having one of the best Greek nights around. The people who work out there tend to go there to eat which is a good recommendation. They have a free taxi which will pick you up and drop you off again at the bottom of the hill and glasses stored in the freezer to make the beer go bown even better!

Adrian

Ive been to Zante twice and went back to this bar which is situated at the top of a steep hill, which leads from the main street in argassi,The view is spectacular, looking over Argassi and in the distance Zante town.If you go up the hill by foot you will be knackered but it is well worth it if you make it!. (I wish I was There now).I only went for a drink so I can`t comment on the food.
