Agreed!! This is a site for reviews, good and bad. I looked at this site before I went to Kalamaki and found it very useful. I wouldn't not go in a bar/restaurant if there were a few bad reviews, I always try things for myself to decide if I like it or not. I personally didn't like Angels, but other people do and that's fine. I'm sure that most other people are similar to myself who like to see all comments on here without having all the other slagging off/disagreements in between. Just let everyone have their own opinions - if we all agreed on everything, how boring life would be!

i agree... people should come on and just review the bar but chris chadwick you don't do that, you likes to argue with people who come on and say they didn't like it, you should just let people say what they like about the bar, those who enjoy it will always go back and those that don't won't but don't infringe on people right to free speech please. hazel, this isn't angels website this is justzante's a website for people to leave reviews of their holidays - good and bad. i didn't bothe rleaving a review of my experience of angels in the end as i didn't fancy the backlash. i don't care who slept with who, how old they were or anything else. no one here is slagging chris chadwick off as a person, most people just don't like his conduct on this page and i have to agree. if you want to argue with people go on angels website and do it, don't do it on the revie wpage, now can we please get back to the reviews, all reviews, good and bad!! i used this site for my first visit to kalamaki and found it very useful, now people will just be turning away in the droves because it has become a 'b***h and boast' page! i'm not going to get into personal digs like some, just because i didn't like angels or the fact that chris c dominate these pages doesn't make me miserable, just someone who found this page useful once, and doesn't appreciate back chat for their reviews!! you will see other reviews from me at other places. now please all thos ewho have left their reviews let it be, you can't control everyone's tastes, that would make the world a very boring place.

I actually like both angels and down under(in fact in the down under they have named me their little sis, as i have been there so many times, for the past 5 years.)
Like people keep saying, there are alot of underaged kids on the island going to the bars getting drunk, and even sleeping with the bar staff, its like that where ever you go.
But me, im 18 and i know how to say No. Im actually friends with Yannis, and last year my friend was with him and she didn't catch nothing!!!
I don't know why you people come on here, if all you are going to do is slag the place off, if you didn't like it, and you liked down under, then why don't you go give your good comments on their page, as i have done. You are spoiling this for people who have never been here by giving it a bad name.
Oh and im going to stick up for my friend chris, as he is a great bloke.

Seems that only a select few are allowed to use this site as a chat forum, as long as you are not expressing an opinion that disagrees with ol'Cling on Chris!! This site went downwards a long time ago when Chris Chadwick single handedly ruin this page by bullying anyone who didn't like Angels (or Mermaids) seems his bullyboy tactics are wearing thin with many a person on here!! Also the guy who slated him, probably doesn't spend his life visiting this site so probably didn't read your 'answer' - this person actually got the concept of this site, i.e. placing a review and then not worrying about whether people agreed or not!! So a few "shout outs" from my holiday:
The turtles on the beach for being there!!
The air hostesses on the plane, the sun for shining, a big shout to the cleaners in my apartment, the waiters at the various restaurants (greek waiters actually from Greece!!!!), the alcohol for being potent, the baggage handlers, The chesterfield crew for waiting until I'd gone home to arrive and anyone else I have missed out!! :-)
Seems some people need to develop a bit more of life, yes Emily, can you see people, "oh sh*t here we go Kalamkai boy boring the pants off us with the same old stories" cos if they ain't sick of, we all sure are!!!!!!!

for once chris chadwick is agreeing that it should be a comment site not a b***hing site but if you take the time to look back you will find that he is the first one to start all the b***hing at other peoples comments in the first place. dont try and tell people to do what your not prepared to do chris and do yourself a favour visit another country other than zante all the time it seems like your life revolves around the place, i can picture you now plugging angels bar while djing if you ever have any gigs that is.

We went into Angels on our last night and must admit we did see the dj with a few young teenage girls behaving in a way that didn’t look like he had a girlfriend, at the time we didn’t think that he was the guy you described to us as your boyfriend because of what he was doing, guess he was! We are sorry that you have been hurt so badly and he should be ashamed of himself, especially at his age. He must have a screw loose!! I remember you saying that he had cheated on his last girlfriend and you know what they say once a cheat always a cheat. You are such a lovely, bubbly person and with your face and figure you will have no problems at all finding a DECENT man that treats you the way you deserve. This is Rebecca, DJ Kris James’ ex-girlfriend and I was living with him in Kalamaki for 5 months and we were together in the UK before travelling to Greece. I would like to thank everyone who has commented on Chris’ behaviour. I was not allowed in Angels bar as Chris, apparently, worked better without me being there. I now know that it was because Chris ‘pulled’ under aged girls better without me being there. I made many friends in Kalamaki and many of them told me I was stupid for being with him because of the way he treated me but I was trusting and stupid and I’m ashamed to say that I loved him to bits. So to everyone that tried to make me see sense, I’m sorry for not listening to you at the time. I’m also very disappointed with the rest of the staff in Angels as they knew what was going on and not one of them had the decency to let me know. Since being back in the UK I have spoken with one of the girls with whom Chris was having a relationship with in Greece behind my back, she is 15, he is nearly 25. I am also aware that there were many more. Chris lied to me on a daily basis and I will never forgive him as long as I live, he is a clever liar but not clever enough. Chris if you read this you may have got away with it in Greece but you certainly haven’t got away with it here. I see you now for the person you really are and I pity you. All you can do is try and accuse other bars of what is going on but it went on in Angels too several nights when we walked passed after hours there were several young girls left in the bar with the bar staff and they were hanging around the DJ box the few times we came in there. Its sad for them as they are only young with a crush on an older man but for a man of your age you should know better and this Nick is he not the one who people couldnt stand cause he was rude and just invited himself along to sit with the girls on their, as if they were only there to pick up. He gave me his number and the first thing i did with it was bin it. Youll probably notice my earlier email informing the girls looking for him that they could get in touch with him via myself so that i could tell them what he was really like.

So as not to entice an argument all I can say is that as a tourist for 3 weeks this year who worked 8 nights in Angels I never saw any of that. Angels is very specific on not allowing the behaviour you mention, hence Nick looking after things. I`m aware that in certain places in Kalamaki there is no qualms about young drunk girls looking for their holiday romance it wasn`t tolerated in Angels at all when I was there, why else do all the waiters from other places hang round a certain other bar?

i want to start by saying that there is no way that the bar staff were not on drugs, the reason how i know cause i was resident dj there. we where there to entertain the customers to best we could. i'm sorry for any one who does not agree with me.

Just come back from holiday in Zante went to angels bar every night totally enjoyed it, cheap drinks and freindly staff, different music was played for all ages so dont listen to the post earlier about hardcore and all that.
Big screen and pool table for those who wanted to relax, top bar, hope to see you all again next year.

Thought it great for the first two visits, but on the third, the music was switched off to be replaced by the football soundtrack!!
Now the vision of football I can endure, 'cos I can look at something else, but when the sound is also blaring out, it's time for me to leave.
We never went back after that.

What a place great staff great drinks best prices in kalamaki and music next door bar boring as hell and nick emily and yiannis where fab.

Have just come back from a week in Kalamaki with my sister. We went into Angels 2 nights running and never went back again! We went in to have a relaxing drink after dinner, to chat, watch the world go by and enjoy the music. The music was the same both nights and every night after that when we walked past. We felt uncomfortable with one of the bar staff who came to sit with us both nights - never a problem as we both enjoy meeting new people - but he didn't seem to like anyone having an opinion different to him (in fact I don't think he ever really listened to anything either of us said, obviously loves the sound of his own voice) and he just hung around. There was hardly anyone in there at anytime when we went past. Having said that, the drinks were excellent, good choices and reasonably priced and the girl working behind the bar was nice. Maybe it's just because it's coming towards the end of the season that it was like this!?

Mate if you tell me what nights you were in I`ll tell you if it was me DJing, and if you can describe me you get a brownie point! Unlike the previous stuff I`ll take any criticism as constructive if about me personally and as the only dance music I played was on one of the nights at 2 am with 8 or 9 under 25s in I doubt it was me, but having played a mixture of 60s,70s,80s,90s,pop,motown,rnb,commercial dance each night I`m sure you found something to your taste, if not as I always said down the microphone that if people have a request or want a different type of music to come and ask.
Quick shout to all the staff, all the customers who enjoyed themselves - the Wolverhampton and W Mids groups, the Irish `Shirley Valentines`, the Forest Town group (sweetcorn in that?), the Nottingham lot...everyone else! Cheapest place on the island too!

Just come back from a week in Kalamaki, 21st-28th Sep, and spent a couple of nights in the Angels Bar where the 'buy-two-cocktails-get-one-free offer' was a winner! Was disappointed with the 'music' (DJ Chesterfield, I think was his name) who 'cranked it up' after 11pm. Everybody promptly 'cranked off' elsewhere as hard-core, whistle blowing, eye popping rave just didn't work. Was also disappointed with the 'entertainment' as the bartenders threw ice (bloody big lumps an' all) around the place and generally acted like kids after one too many E-number fuelled kia-ora drinks. Hey ho...

no way i get there monday night!!!!

its so strange anyone from any other place can put any comment they like on here and lots of other places bars food hotels and u know what there is no control of it? i could be anyone the bar next door across the road anyone and could slag my competition off just for the holiday makers too see but you know i think the best is when you get here too try out these places for yourself cause there are allot of idiots on theses sites that have nothing alse too do and ruin it for others.And as for drugs if there was a customer or whoever doing that trust me they would be locked up in a instant in greece they know what goes on love.

im sorry but i have to add a comment here. I visit kalamaki 2 times a year and my mum visits 3 times a year, since 1997. So i no for sure that the staff are not on drugs, fair enough they do have a drink, but i think you will find that in most bars, and i think that Con deserves to have a good drink, as he is a very busy and hard working man like all of his staff. I have met chris and he is a great bloke.

I wouldnt really care if someone did add that about my work as i would be their personal opinion and only arguing it makes it seem more likely to be happening. I dont actually believe you work at this bar so what it has to do with you what people say about it i really do not know. Dont you do anything other than visit this site and insult people? Reading back it seems you have been insulting people for quite some time and 'Mr Chadwick' i wouldtnt care if Mel Smith was a comedian so why add a comment to try and insult me about my name i do not know.

My apologies to the owner of the bar and of this site for wasting space arguing but i feel something should be done about Mr Chadwick airing his comments too often on the wrong subjects.

I think maybe you dont understand the point of these pages on this site Chris Chadwick they are for peoples 'comments'. I would of thought you own Angels bar with the amount of insulting comments you have given back to people just because they have aired their opinions. The owner of the bar should be grateful for the good and bad comments and if they were any respectable person they might have added a few comments themselves to apologise for what some people didnt like and maybe update their site a bit more often. As far as i was aware Breakfasts are not being served anymore.
I did not visit the bar myself as in my 2 weeks staying in Kalamaki i heard the same music playing everytime i walked past and didnt find the place very inviting but thats just my personal opinion which im sure you will argue with. As for down under which you slate so much i found it a lovely place good atmosphere welcoming staff and noone on there site complains at peoples comments or other bars. The webmaster knows which ones too take off chris the whole site is needs a good look at.Poor show webmaster this is you site control it you are not being fair you have let this website slip on many things ask your customers.

place was full of teenagers, and small children at midnight. nowhere nice to sit, cocktails were ok, barstaff obviously on drugs-very un co-ordinated, and didnt get the recipe right. not worth the walk.

What has happened to Angels bar? Went to Kalamaki in October 2001 and it had great character and real lively staff. Just got back this time - the Angels have been taken out,sociable round tables replaced with rigid tables with stools ,and the fun staff replaced. No wonder it was empty most nights !

Only went there once, was empty and the beer was like p**s. Cave Bar, Mustang and Cavo Doro MUCH better!

A great place for families, they have fun but make sure they don't go too far with kids around. When we visited we saw karoake (you get free shots non- alcholic ones for the children) and one night some of the blocks (jus' out for a drink) got dressed up in drag.

The Dj is great, and the location is superb, well worth a visit.
