Tesoro is one of the best restaurants in Kalalmaki...or probably in Zante! Great food...never had a bad meal. And the staff are lovely, especially Yianni! Can't wait to eat there next year!!!

Emma F  (13 September 2007)        10/10

I visited Tesoro last May more than once and the food was fantasic!!! I ended up going back to Kalamaki on my own last September and ate at Tesoro EVERY NIGHT so i think i managed to eat my way through most of the menu and everything i had was delicious and no complaints here!!!! Im hoping to go back this year (late booking) or failing that next May 08 and I will definately be going to eat in Tesoro again.  All the staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome - look forward to seeing you all soon!!!

Liz H  (14 August 2007)        10/10

Just returned home and spent nearly every night in Tesoro-the best restaurant in Zante! The meals were fresh and of good portions. It's the first time my children have been to to Greece and they would love to go back-Yianni and Maria taught my son lots of greek! The specials were always good value for money and the lamb in honey and Ouzo is LUSH!  A truely delightful restaurant and I would truely recommend it.Go there and you will not have the need to go anywhere else!! LOVED IT!

Phil D  (13 August 2007)        9/10

We ate here on the Friday of our holiday.  We were made very welcome and the meal was very tasty, we had Chicken in pepper sauce , chicken kieve, hawaiian pizza all very nice.  We would visit this restaurant again if we return to Kalamaki!!!!

click to enlargeThis Taverna provides its customers with excellent and very large portions of tasty and wonderful food! We have been eating at this place since 1998 and have never had a bad meal here! The Chicken Souflaki and the Village Chicken are excellent Dishes whcih are served to perfection!Spiro and Maria make sure that your visit here at the Tesoro is good! The Chicken Curry here is also a must. Try the House Wine here!! But be warned, its very STRONG!   There have been many of times when Tolis and Yiannis have been Staggering out of here!   The Garlic bread special is also to die far! Very Nice!!

Well Done to the Tesoro and hope that you have an excellent end to the season, see you all next year and its depressing to be back home!

Lea-ann G  (21 July 2007)        10/10

This is one of the best places to eat ion Kalamaki, and you can't fault the food or service. Quite frankly the bad review given, doesn't say very much if they would rather eat pizza in Lagana! We tried a variety of dishes over the course of our holiday, and they were all excellent!

Colin G  (13 July 2007)        10/10

We ate there 5 times in 2 weeks, and never had a bad meal once. From the welcome you get at the entrance, the service and attentiveness from the waiters, the fantastic value food, and good size portions, the whole evening is a pleasure.  You’re not rushed nor overly fussed over like in some other places.

I seriously can’t praise this place highly enough.

We recommended it to a couple of friends we met at the airport on the way to Zante. They went there for a meal and again, no complaints whatsoever.

I totally agree with Kirsty re have a good attitude to them and you will not go wrong. Like I said, this was our second year in Kalamaki, and the amount of people who remembered us and made us feel welcome was one of the main reasons that prompted us to book up again for next year.

Thanks for the excellent service, food and company Tesoro – see you all again next year.

David Y  (03 July 2007)        10/10

We stayed in Kalamaki for the first time in May2006 family of six.We stayed in the Athina apartments excellent service and very clean.Having tried other eateries in the area.We found Tesoro excellent value, great food ,good menu and friendly service and therefore we ate there most evenings. We were so impressed with our weeks holiday, such lovely friendly people at the Tesoro. We are coming back in August 2007 for two weeks so keep us a table we will be joining you in the evenings. This time we are staying at the Amaryllis, but will definately be at the Tesoro for meals.
Roll on the 28th of August,I can't wait to get back.

Val G  (02 July 2007)        10/10

Cant understand Marks comment  We have never ever had a bad meal here and have been coming here for many many years !! Maybe mark is better off in big boys and stick to pizza and chips then !  Coz Tesoro goes out of its way to please people and will do anything to put things right .

we will be back in sept and cant wait

Kirsty M  (21 June 2007)        10/10

We have been going in the Tesoro for 10 years now,not once have we had a bad meal, the people there are very friendly, well, this is their living. If anyone has, for any reason, a complaint, im sure that the managment would soon sort out the problem.Like anywhere else in the resort, have a good attitude to them and you will not go wrong.

Mark B  (19 June 2007)        1/10

we came to tesoro for a meal and we ended up having the worst meal that i have tasted in the area

i asked for lemon chicken and when it came it tasted very acidic it was horrible and i refused to pay for my meal as i couldn't eat it instead i went to BIG BOYS in lagana and had a slice of pizza that was really good to eat..

i wouldn't and couldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone
stay away

Anne S  (29 May 2007)        10/10

Yet again the best on the island.Huge plates and friendly service. If you are a regular and are looking for roz who has been on the door for a few years her and dennis from there have opened a bar called Therapia.Go and visit them as its lovely, its up past sophias.

Julia B  (27 May 2007)        10/10

This resturant was really good value and the portions huge.  My husband had Kleftiko one night which was very tasty and I had a chicken souvlaki.  It was the biggest plate of food I'd ever seen.  I'm sure they must have used a whole chicken for this meal.  I managed to eat most of it and it was very tasty.  The staff are really friendly and great with kids.  We visited this restuarant twice on this trip to Kalamaki and would definately recommend it.

Val G  (26 May 2007)        10/10

We only discovered Tesoro a few days before going home but ate there every night after that, it was so nice here. Staff friendly and pleasant, food delicious. I had a carbonara one night and spaghetti bolognaise two other nights. The puddings looked gr8 although i didnt have one my family said they were amazing. Thanks for such lovely food

Hazel S  (16 October 2006)

tesoro is the best in kalamaki-missing the provencal mushrooms and lamb in the oven already and we only retured home last night! the beef stiffado is fantastic , very suprized with the frozen imperial cocktail-it is in a pint glass then we realized imperial pint everything fantastic.

Jeanette H  (16 October 2006)

We visited in August and September and enjoyed two lovely meals here.  The Chicken Souvlaki with bacon was lovely and the hubby enjoyed the stuffed beef burger.  The portions were much too big for my little appetite, but the food was delicious.  Staff as friendly as ever and the service was excellent.

I am 14 and my family and I came to Kalamaki 10 years ago, we stayed in Vanessa Studios. Today i have been looking at photographs of our holiday in Kalamaki because we are returning in August this year, but going to a different Hotel. I have a photo of my brother, my cousins and I outside of Tesoro with two men.

They look like brothers, they are tall, dark skinned and have dark hair.
I know people won't understand who I am talking about because my descriptions are very vague, but I am just curious to find out if these men still work here. I am looking forward to returning to Tesoro. I think i will take this photo to see if i recognise any of the men working there.
Is the sign outside still a yellow rectangle with the word TESORO diagonally and RESTAURANT in smaller letters underneath ?? haha please message me back somebody I would love to know if they are still there!! However I will be finding out for myself in 3 weeks  Thanx

Sal,meg & Kev  (07 July 2006)

We have eaten at Tesoro for the last eight years. The food is the best in Kalamaki. The service is great.

Spiros and his team are the nicest people you could wish to meet. Reserve us a table guys, for Friday 4th

August at 8. Make mine a village steak

Richard O  (05 July 2006)

Great food and great service one of the best again in Kalamaki

Mary M  (19 June 2006)

A very friendly place with excellent food and very helpful and pleasant service.  You can even have the odd lesson in Greek from Roz if they are not too busy.  The t-bone steak was cooked exactly as asked for and the local wine makes a good partner for a great meal.

Anne S  (30 May 2006)

Had 2 lovely meals there and we love it there. We went on our last visit to kalamaki and glad to say it was still great

Yiannis M  (12 May 2006)

Michelle, carl, rhys & ka W  (24 January 2006)

hi all staff at tesoro,

we have been on holiday in kalamaki three times in two years and we have visited your restaurant many times. whenever we have visited tesoro we have been more than satisfied with the food and service and shall be returning again this year. see you all soon the williams family from swansea wales.

Andrew P  (15 January 2006)

we ate at tesoros most nights and although it can get busy the food is always excellent and piping hot the waiting staff are very attentive and a special call out to dennis the head waiter  and shirley  who we can now call friends and spiros the boss who always seems to carry all the worlds worries on his sholders but when you get to know him he is a very generous man. Looking forwards to seeing them all again in august.the meals are the cheapest in the resort , and try the specials which are on the main menu but are about 6 euros  a bargain

Val G  (08 November 2005)

Hey !!!! I agree with the last comment Spiros and his team would just not do that!!!! We as a family know him and his team quite well and have been there for many years mostly 3 times every time we are in Kalimaki  thats twice a year some of us as family are there. They are fab people and we love eating there .

Roz   (04 November 2005)

I don't know if this lady has confused us with another restaurant, but I can assure her that none of the people involved with Tesoro would treat an animal like this.

During the summer many stray dogs and cats have passed through the restaurant and have been fed and watered.  A dog that had befriended a family of tourists was allowed to sit under their table while they ate.  Stray cats were fed fresh red mullet at the request of the boss.  Fans in the restaurant were left switched off so that a pair of swallows could raise their young.  Animals were kept safely from passing cars.  I could go on but I think this selection of examples proves the point.
I really am most upset that someone thinks they can make a throw away comment like this.  Contrary to a lot of people's beliefs, Greece is not a country of animal haters.  Having lived here for almost four years now I have seen many many acts of kindness towards animals.

Jane M  (03 November 2005)

Would not eat there on principal after witnessing waiter cruelly kicking a poor starving puppy.

Val G  (30 October 2005)

click to enlarge  Just got back yet again Cant count how many times weve  been !!!!

But Spiros has done it again !! His team are excellent and the food is just as good as always .Just wanted to say a big thank you to you all and see you again next year XX Take care love the Godden family !

Paul J  (04 September 2005)

I love this place and it will definitely be my fist port of call on retruning to Kalamaki

Emily F  (04 September 2005)

Why is there not a bigger thumb and a 'we loved it' rating on this website? This restaurant is fabulous! It was the third place we ate on our holiday and the only place we ate for the rest of it, the food is amazing (if you only find it on your last night have the lamb with oregano, you will not regret it, in fact this will be the reason you take your next holiday in Kalamaki!), the service is friendly and efficient (hi to everyone esp. roz and saki).See you next year!

This is also one of the best resturants in Kalamaki.  I have been going to have something to eat at this restaurant for nine years and it is still the best.  The chicken souflaki is great and they do a brilliant chicken curry (which is miles better then Guru next door!) Yiannis and Tolis love the house wine!

this was the first place we tried over ten years ago and we have been using it ever since, top food, great home made wine.

we and a large group of friends use this place and a place called dias, which is a five minute walk
tesoro is very relaxed and the wiaters keep a check on that you really are enjoying your meal.

Ate here a couple of times. Very friendly, very good meals, very reasonably priced, and a very beautiful young lady working there too.

Denise W (09 August 2004)

This place sounds great hope i can find it...my only problem is i have a really fussy tenager who will only eat pasta at the moment nothing fancy or baked potato with beans, does anyone know if they do this,as for myself and hubby and another daughter we will eat and try anything, but it can be hard to find places to suit my daughter so any other suggestions would be great....
