me&my boyfriend were in room 36, its nice to have a balcany but it didnt bother us atall, after all the pool was 2 seconds down the stairs. With the room being dark because you dont get day light it was great for sleeping&even better if you were hungover:). Everything was perfect about the holiday, couldnt have asked for more! x

got back from a great holiday at the Sirene apartments all the reviews that we read were not true. Gregg Timmy and the rest of the staff were so helpful and friendly. the apartment was clean and comfortable, the food was excellent and well priced but feel there could have been a bit more choice. Thanks for a great holiday Gregg hope to see you again

just got back from the Sirene Apartments, I had read a lot of bad reviews and was really worried about going there. When we got there we were so surprised the apartment was lovely and Gregg and the rest of the staff could'nt have been more friendly. the food was good although there was'nt much choice but it was cheap and very good. The barbecue night was excellent and they encouraged you to join in the greek dancing. What ever bad reveiws anyone reads about the Sirene Apartments should ingnore them

Eveline M

can anyone tell me exactly where sirene apartments are situated ?

We've booked to go 18th June next year so don't know if we'll see you ( hope so ) would be good to have a catch up & few beers !!!

Becky W          9/10

I have just got back from kalimaki and me and my friend stayed at the Sirenne, we was dreading the stay as we had read previous comments and they were bad, but when we arrived we were made really welcome and the rooms are basic but who stays in there room all day on there holl?!! The pool area is excellant and ideal for familys with children. me and my friend carrie met loads of lovely people here, (Terri and Dave from Chick) haha!! and the manager gregg is lovely too.
I would ignore all the other comments as the Sirenne is a great place to stay and i would definatly go there again!!! It was great fun, especially the BBQ night and greek dancing.
Would definatly stay here again, thanks gregg for giving us the room on our last night!!! xxxx

Heyup Sue & Brad just browsing through this page and spotted you here. Its Tony (ex sirene barman & karaoke host and general gofer) glad to hear your still going to gregs, we went out in may this year but couldnt stay at gregs as it was full so stayed at cavo d'ora but spent most time at gregs.off to bulgaria next month but already booked gregs for next may. still loads of people returning time after time dont understand what half of these complaints about sirene are about? suppose some people have nothing better to do. i definately agree with the comments from that alex person though. Top Place. ( bit better than yorkshire eh? haha)  maybe see you soon

Sue B

Hi Rebecca , Just read my reviews on Sirene we are going back for our fifth time next June so it can't be that bad !! Rooms are very basic but you are in Greece , towels and sheets are changed on a regular basis would advise you take a travel kettle. Greg (manager) & his family are brilliant he does a good value barbi  every Sat nite and his food at the snack bar is always good value for money . It's about a 15min walk into Kalamaki , plenty of restaurants & bars to choose from, bit of a dodgy walk back as there's no street lights but taxi's are only 5euros, so maybe see you in June !!

Sue B

Hi , glad you both enjoyed your second week in beautiful Zante , hope to see you both again next June !!!

Richard A          10/10

Just got back from sirene apartments on the 10th! first time we had been to greece and it was absolutely amazing! timmy greg and everyone else really make your holiday! make sure you get involved with the bbq its a great night and good to meet other people who are staying in the hotel.

Sue B          10/10

Once again thanks to Greg , Timmy & family for another fab holiday .  Excellent food , loads a drink & no change in prices wot a bonus !! See you all again next year ..... yes we booked up again as soon as we got back count down on already so get them towels ready Timmy !!!

Karen O          7/10

Stayed at the sirene for 2 weeks,we had a fab time.Yes it was basic but take a kettle and you'll be fine. There's plenty of lovely restaurants in Kalamaki, which was a 15 min walk. The food at the sirene was nice to, the bbq night was great You must take a touch the road down to the town can be very dark ,traffic travels very fast. A fab day out was the jeep safari it was great.

Alex B          10/10

We stayed at sirene for 2 weeks in june, greg was great but Tony who worked on the bar most days and did the karaoke on tuesdays was amazing. nothing was to much to ask and he always had a smile and a joke for you. He really is an asset to the sirene. If anyone has any contact details for him could you please let me know. Looking foward to going back next year.

Louise T          8/10

Got back from Sirene on 26th July... Had a really good time and got on great with Greg and Timmy and the baby! The people staying there were lovely too, had some fun times in the pool! Would definetely go back, dont know what people are on about with their negative reviews.. ok the rooms were basic but thats all you need on holiday really! Food was really cheap too! 4 euros for burger and chips! BBQ night on saturdays is great fun with the greek dancing and karaoke was a laugh too! Brilliant time!

Debbie F          8/10

have just arrived back from staying at Sirene apartments, had a brilliant time.

ok, the rooms are very basic and the toilet could have done with a bottle of bleach down it, but only used it to get changed in & sleep.

went with my partner & 2 young children, who had a wonderful time in the pool.

Greg, Timmy & the rest of the staff were really lovely and friendly, Saturday nights barbie is a great night and at 9 euros per adult (5 for children) its one of the cheaper meals, with a caraf of wine thrown in to get you in the mood for the greek dancing.

met some wonderful people at the sirene apartments and would definately go back.

Sue B          10/10

Been back from kalamaki two weeks now missing everyone at sirene so we booked up already for next year !!! Sorry Greg youre gonna have to put up with us again !!! Once again Greg and family looked after us fantastically and made our holiday lovely and relaxing for us . Food good and we had two fab barbi nights rooms are basic but what the hell only use it to crash in. So see you all nxt june cant wait !!!

Sue B          10/10

we are looking forward to our 2nd stay at sirene apts in june we had a top holiday in june 04 met some great ppl (bri jan + family) . greg + staff were great food excellent value room was basic but clean . cant believe i've read so many negative reviews . so roll on june see you then greg hope you have 2 cold beers ready 4 us !!

Terri S

Hi we returned from the sirene on the 20.8.06 after 3weeks,
We had a fantastic time,as a family of 5 people we thought it was great and so did lots of others we met up with.
Gregg, his wife and the staff, including the maid are fantastic and could'nt do enough 4 us.
They were friendly,helpful,and polite.
The road is busy but not that bad and we had 3 kids walking down it every nite.
Town is 20 mins away, food is excellent and cheap, and the beer is'nt that dear either.
This was our cheapest hol yet.
The cockerals do make a noise but after a couple of days u do become immune, same with the dogs.
If u have air con u can't hear a thing on a nite and if u get on the ouza even better!
A hol is what u make it,and we sure did.
We are going back next year, again for 3weeks and so are 3 other families we met up with, all at the same time in Aug.

Janet B

just come back from staying at sirene wasnt all that keen we spent most of our time at the longstory pool n snack bar wer pete n sharon welcomed us and they make u feel at home there there pool was clean.we will but returning nxt year and staying at the appartments wer the longstory bar is see ur nxt year sharon

Roger M

well what can i say this was our second visit to sirene and what a diffrence a year makes this year we had a problem with things going missing then my mobile disapeared only to find it was the maid same one as last year when reported nothing was done all activitys were cancelled for football by greg he even asked us to keep the noise down and closed the bar at 12.30 there was only 3 of us in the bar watching tv at the time i wouldnt recomend this place to anyone again

Margaret M

Just got home last week, took my son and his friend and they made lots of new friends, the staff are lovely, the apartment we had was a great size, a bit noisy at night but you are on holiday, also a bit far from town on a dark road, but it's only 5 euro in a taxi. The manager Greg and staff are very helpful and very laid back we played hide and seek with the kids into the wee small hours had a blast.

A new restuarant has opened just along the road called Emily's the food is great and the family are the nicest people you will meet Anna & Paraskevi are the daughters mum Emily and dad Christos, I felt i was leaving family the night we said goodbye.

Lynda P

FROM ONE PARTON TO ANOTHER IE: CHRIS, YOU'L ENJOY DAISIES STUDIOS. ITS SMALL BUT ALL THE APARTMENTS IN GREECE ARE. GREAT THING IS YOU CAN ENJOY ALL THE OTHER POOL BARS AND POOLS BECAUSE THEY'RE OPEN TO ALL. MY DAUGHTERS 12 AND SHE LOVED IT. FOODS FANTASTIC PEOPLE FRIENDLY WE LIKED IT SO MUCH WE'RE GOING BACK.

Chris P

Hi there, going to stop at the Daisy Apartments in late June 2007 i know its a bit of a way off!! but i was wondering if anyone could help? never been to Greece before and just wondering will there be much for my 9 year old daughter to do? and how local are shops etc to the Daisy? if anyone could help would be really grateful

Denise W

John C

hi jane, dont know how to contact them direct, but there is air con and there are some stairs to the higher levels but there are ground floor apartments as well ,hope this is of some help

Denise W

Hi Michelle,

we are going back in july this year with our two kids who absoloutely loved this place but they are a bit older and did tend to be happy with the swimming
pool, there is a tv in the bar area which showed cartoons but there is no kids club or anything that we saw anyway and we were pretty friendly with the manos rep who never mentioned any regular activities for younger ones although they did hold a party night which was all for the kids dancing and face paints etc this was a free night offered through tour rep in one of the local bars ours was at grabana grus (not sure of spelling)and all the kids had a fab time and the sirene hold a Greek night which was great and karaoke.  A walk to the beach takes about 20 minutes. Most bars in the village same distance have kids computer/video games which our kids used to enjoy in the evenings. The Sirene is a good place to meet lots of new people i am sure your daughter wont be without friends for long and yourself, it a nice small complex so you tend chat to most people...well i did, being scottish and all,ha ha. Anything else i can help just yell out...............Denise

Michelle P

Hi, My family are going here in August. Can any-one tell me how far the beach is and my daughter is 8 years old, do they have good entertainment on, and how close is it to the nearest bars and resturants xx

Lisa, here is a few we hav, none of inside but 1 of the pool and gardens> >

Lisa M

Terri,

i'm 16 and we were there in June last year and loved it! My sister 18 and wee brohter 5 also did! Its about a 15mins walk to the main strip but the taxis are cheap! The entertainment at the appartments are good most nights, they hav a greek night with barbaque, dancing etc and a karaoke night! Both really good!

Marie R

We stayed at Sirene in July last year and had the best holiday ever - we loved it so much we are going back again !

Greg and his family are really friendly, the hotel is in a quiet area away from the main strip in Kalamaki - but is next to a busy road.  It's a 20 minutes walk to the beach, but we were just as happy to stay at the pool most of the time.  The weekly bbq was really good - good choice of food and you have to get up and do some greek dancing!

A holiday is what you make of it - we can't understand the people who have complained about the Sirene.

Charlene B

We have been to Greece and stayed at the Sirene Apartmens sice 2000 but we havent been for the last 2 years. Hope Greg and everyone are ok Me, Mum, and my sister are missing you all fery much. Love Charlene, Danielle and Carol.

Tony J

the nearest appartment complexes are Rainbow then daisy. but if greg is full and you want to stay close, then i find Spiros appartments 5 mins away from sirene a good deal. the appartments are basic but youll be spending most time at sirene anyway with your friends so does it matter, and spiros is very reasonably priced and he is very helpfull.my wife and i have stayed there a few times and found it ideal if you cant get in to sirene.

Trcaey L

I stayed at the sirene apartments for three weeks in may 2005 and absolutley loved it Gregory the manager was brilliant and the food was amazing i would definitly go back.Yes micks bar is still there its called Lily dots .Hopfully we are going back so it would be nice to see everyone.SmileTongue

Anada C

We traveled to sirene apartments many years ago! And i was actually just thinking of this place and looked it up! It seems as tho  it has cahnged abit.. But it still looks the same (in a good way)

HAHA and i can see where my father fell over the balcony on one of the pictures!!!

Its a great plcae for people who are seeking a quiet holiday with laganas just down the road!Beach is a bit out of the distance!!

Hey if anyone reads this.. could you please please please tell me if mikes bar is still down the raod ?? Its the first bar/cafe/resturant that you pass! Would love to know if it is still there and how mike is doing!!

e-mail ana_matronic_fan@hotmail.co.uk thank you xxxx

Ian H

Oh forgot to say that although the Sirene was excellent, the wait at the airport to come home wasn't.

Nneed to take with you: -

1. Food and drink and the "bar" there is pricey and not exactly plentiful in terms of choice;
2. plenty of fly spray - was appalled by the number of flies that were in the departure lounge. Probably due to the fact that the place could do with a damn good clean!
3. Something for the kids to do, whether it be colouring, a book or a gameboy. There isn't much for them to do there.

In terms of places to eat whilst you are out there, Michaelo's is a must. the staff are the friendliest you can imagine and the food is to die for.

Also tried Mermaids, which was ok, but the food wasn't as good as Michaelo's. Also more expensive but would think would appeal more to the younger generation (says the old fart of 35!)

Al' Sandros opposite Mustangs was a hit with the kids. Good food, fairly basic, but very well priced, with good service.

Shame I am home really - the thought of the lemon pork at Michaelo's is making me hungry!!!

Ian H

We got back on Thursday 27th Oct and had thoroughly enjoyable time..

All of the staff at the Sirene were only too happy to help with anything we needed and I can't quite understand the level of complaints posted on here.

Ok, so we had no hot water, and the plumbing in our room was in need of some attention, but these minor issues did not spoil the holiday one bit.

Met some lovely families out there as well. Kathryn & Co, was a pleasure to meet you all. Hope to stay in touch, and given the phone call Chloe received from Stacey this morning, hopefully that will be the case!

Hope Emily has FINALLY forgiven me for throwing her into the pool - mind you she did deserve it for trying to push me in!!!

Think that anyone going there should heed the advice about a kettle - makes it sooo much easier for coffee in the morning!

Kathryn P

we have just arrived back from the sirene apts, yesterday 27/10/05. we had 2 weeks of excellent weather and good accomadation, people who moan about this place are mad,the accomadation is basic...but so is greece generally so don't expect more than that.
we were well looked after by gregory and his team who were very friendly..we had no complaints..if you want a quiet relaxing holiday staying in a very unspoilt area of greece i would recommend it.
we met loads of great folk from all over  and made loads of friends the apartments have a really friendly atmosphere.
ther was 7 of us in our party ranging from 2- 62 and we were all pleased with our holiday from start to finish, including the minor issue of a small earthquake!!!!!!
would definitely return to zante and the sirene without a doubt.

Emma G

Hiya Lee dyas

Mick and Sandra and their girls are a lovely family and seemed to struggling abit for custom too. We told everyone we could and quite a few people from our appartments seemed to call in for "1 for the road"...I think they a busy start to the season. I personally drunk them out of Malibu and Pinapple J then Pineapple breezers. My Hubby had quite a few vodkas so they didn't do too bad out of us.....we didn't eat there as we didn't really fancy pie and chips... Anyway we will visit them again next time we go out there and hopefully they will still be there.

Charlene B

The Sirene Apartments are grat we have been the 5 years going it is a frendly place to stay Greg and hes wife are really lovly and ther little boys are lovly to and Timmt is everying to me he is grat all there workers work hared all the time hope to go and see them all againe soon all awer love Charlene, Carol and Danielle. xxxx

Lee D

Hi Emma, me and the family were there in May and Mick and Sandra were just starting out at Lillydots, they were a lovely family but seemed to be struggling for custom a little, just hope they do well they deserve to, they did a cracking breakfast and were great with the young one. How did they say they`d done this year? hope they did well.

Emma G

Myself and my Hubby got back eventually after a 2 hour delay at the airport. Appartments were not as bad as the web comments said. Although there is truth in the road the dogs barking and the chickens crowing....or what ever they do??? Lillydots do a great pint of Mythos and you will be very welcome by Mick and Sandra. Rainbow is within walking distance and do a nice Greek menu. Further into town you will get a great Brekkie (ENGLISH OF COURSE) at Mustang Saloon.   Kalamaki is a lovely part of the island and has plenty to do. Its our 2nd time there and would go again  but not the Sirene.

Emma B

We stayed at the Sirene the first week in Septmeber and had a great time.  Our room was very basic but clean.  The noise at night wasnt too bad but we found that you get use to it and the air conditioning system drowned most of it out.

The walk down to crystal beach and into Kalamaki town is a a long one and best done early morning or late afternoon when the sun is not too hot. It can be quite dangerous as the cars don't slow down for you and there are ditches along one side.

Kalamaki town is perfect for young couples aswell as families.  Cocktails are always cheap and there is plently to do and see.  The Cave Bar is a must.  It offers stunning views of the bay and offers a chilled out atmosphere. There is a small bugy station across from the taxi rank which takes you up there.

The water park is a fun day out and can be booked cheapily at local tour company's.  There is a childrens play area aswell as family friendly slides but also some taller and fasters rides for teenagers and adults.  We also went on a jeep discovery tour which is a great way to see the isalnd.
Have a good holiday

Lisa W

hi there people hope you are all ok? we came n stayed there in may. we really enjoyed bein there the only problem was having to walk up to the main street everyday but never mind we made it there and back. the food was great and the drinks too. the pool was nice but it was cold when you first got in and i dont like cold water. the room we stayed in was fantastic. and the people that worked there was great aswell. hope to come back next year so we will pop down n see you all. see you soon love katie and family xxx

Emma G

Thanks John That is grest news. We are looking forward to it. Just a shock to read such comments...Many thanks again...

Emma G

My husband & I are goin to the sirene appts on 25th Sept for 7 nights. Although many good write ups its the bad ones that stick in your mind. Please could someone say if they have been recently and PLEASE tell me its not all that bad!!! We only got married in Nov last year and had an awful Honeymoon in Fuerta Ventura. This was goin to be a cheap but cheerful 2ns honeymoon!!! Hope so!

John C

I am just back from my 1st trip to Kalamaki and stayed at the Sirene Apartments.  I have to say I was impressed by the standard of cleanliness for Greece and Gregori and his family were the perfect hosts - friendly, talkative and always happy to help with anything!  We played about in the pool with his kids some days and it was great!  We were in room 32, which viewed on to the grassy area towards the back of the accommodation.  Have to say to the moany people who dissed this place to research their holiday choice next time, cos at the end of the day you get what you pay for and what you get for £300 odd is good!!  As for the noisy road, it never bothered me and as for the dogs and cockerals, you get used to it, so whats the big deal!  You have all day to sleep on the beach and after all, you're on holiday!!!

Martin S

We were at the Sirenne July 18th for 2 weeks and we had one of best holidays ever. The kids (14,12and 10 were allways in the pool. We were in room 16 it had a great view thanks(see picture) We couldn't stop looking at it.We hired a car in advance and got round the gorgeous island loads. It is beautiful. Greg and his family are very hard working allways with a nice smile. But they are Greek and speak basic English.

Get a grip you moaning people, you are in Greece, the whole nation is laid back. Its only 2 weeks of your life. and your on holiday. We met loads and loads of nice people from London(Leon & family), Doncaster(Alan & family) and even Walsall(Steve & family) Just to repeat what most of the other people have said: A HOLIDAY IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT..........

Julian A

click to enlargeclick to enlargeclick to enlargeGreat holiday, great frindly hosts, good food, excellent weather need i say more, apartments, you get what you pay for,if you want the Ritz go somewhere else,if you want friendly Greek hospitality go here.Say no more.

Lisa M

When we stayed at Sirene we had a great time! I do not agree with any1 who didn't enjoy it, the staff were on the ball and ready 2 help at anytime! The rooms were cleaned evry 2 to 3 days if people want them cleaned more regularly then  pick a 5star hotel! The food was great! The pool is NOT small!

A holiday is what you make it, so u obviously didn't put much effort in if u didn't like the appartments! There is only 1 room with out a balcony and that room has a nice corridor bit to sit in that no1 else can go into because it only leads 2 your appartmnet! If there aren't enough chairs on ur large balcony then ak gregg for more! Use ur initiative!

Carol R

click to enlarge click to enlargeJust arrived back from Sirene Appartments - we were in room 36 after Audrey

It was the worst view an appartment can have - a brick wall and above the stairwell from reception - one way you get a view of the gap between buildings and the other way you can just about see sunshine. It is very dark as no direct sunlight gets into room. And as doors and windows open onto corridor you cannot leave anything open to get some air as you are in full view to everypasser by.

see photos

This room should only be used as a curtesty room as windows and door only open onto corridor - so light is switched on as people pass by - so with no curtains at windows its like blackpool illuminations until they go off.
Patio doors opened onto a brick wall. - We were moved after 3 days so please if you get this room speak to Clare the rep who will get you moved as soon another room is available. -

Very noisy as on main road from Kalamaki to Zante town, together with the cockerals and dogs barking at 4am each morning.

Everyone who stayed here was very friendly and Room 36 is the standing joke to all takl about.Confused

It seems that towards the end of season this hotel starts to get poor reviews, perhaps its just due to wear and tear through the season and the staff tiring, have to say when we went in May we enjoyed it very much and so did everyone else there at the same time, O.K it`s not the ritz but it was certainly value for money and I would stay there again. On another note has anybody been to lillydots? How are Mick and Sandra doing they were a great family and just starting out,  hope they are doing well, was a bit quiet when we were there but did a cracking breakfast and were great with the kids, would like to know how they,re doing.

  1. got back from sirene 4-8-05 we had a great holiday the apartment we were in had pool veiw great for sitting out at night .could not fault food or staff very helpfull there was nothing that i could complain about .there is a busy road outside but you can hardly blame gregg for that .greek night was great all the staff came round getting you up to dance if you didnt enjoy it you could only blame yourself.all i can say is we had a great time

Just returned from sirene on 14.8.05, the apartments are basic but ok, there are no cooking utensils or cleaning equipment provided but you get clean bedding and towels every two days. The road to Kalamaki is very dangerous and i would advise you take torches or a taxi wich should cost no more than 5 euros. The owners are ok but only show intrest if you spend a lot of money in their bar. We did enjoy our stay but would not go again because of the road. For great greek food please do try the Rainbow the owners are lovely. And do call into Lillydots bar for a drink you are made very welcome and its a good laugh.

We took our own nappies but there were plenty of supermarkets and they all sold nappies. Medicine seemed to be expensive over there, we took some calpol and antiseptic cream etc with us just in case. Have a great holiday.

Just returned from Kalamaki and the Island of Zakynthos. It is very beautiful and we liked almost everywhere on the island except for Laganas which appears to be entirely Bars and fast food establishments.

We had a good holiday despite the very poor accomodation at the Sirene Apartments.

Avoide the Sirene at all costs, there are plenty of better places;

The staff don't care and are unhelpfull.

The place is dirty.

The pool is very small.

It is a 35 min walk in the heat of a Greek island on a very busy road to a shop or bar etc and further to the beach.

You will get clean towels only every 2 or 3 days.

What they call a balcony is 2 plastic chairs and a table on the passageway outside the room.

Air conditioning is an extra 6 Euro per day.

The rooms are only fit for 2, the 3rd person gets a broken down camp bed.

It is noisy - On a busy road with dogs barking and Chickens/Cocks crowing every night

Avoide the Sirene there are many better places! e.g. Rainbow - same road and closer to the town with a lovely pool

Hi Lisa

we were there in september last year for three weeks....they did not have karaoke on at that time but it was coming to the end of the season, we have booked up to go next july already looking forward to it

Julie P

we got back on 4th aug,  really no one should worry about this place as it was really nice, the location was fine, the walk to kalamaki was a lovely walk took us approx 15 minutes with kids, food at the apartments was very nice too and very reasonably priced.   gregg and the gang were really friendly nothing is too much trouble for them,  i would highly recommend the greek night, it was excellent. apartments we had were very spacious, animal noises are there but you dont really notice it.
