Do Tom and Johns have safety deposit boxes?

V J

anybody that is staying at tom and johns for their holiday this year should really enjoy it! we have just come home from there and we liked it very much!its very close to the beach and has a lovely swimming pool. its in a quiet area aswell which is nice. The food in tsilivi is very nice and we recommend you try them all!its not too expensive either. if anybody is going with children then they wont be bored, there is a pool table, chess and draughs table and board games at the pool bar and obviously a swimming pool to keep them occupied!the pool bar is nice to sit in durin the day and at night and is open till the last people leave. we didnt need a fan or air con which suprised us, the sea breeze worked just as well!if anybody wants to know anythingabout tom and johns then just ask.

Jutt C

No problem Norman, you are welcome to email me anything u want to ask and if i can help i will. juttkeys@blueyonder.co.uk

To Jutt Crowe who recently returned from Tom & Johns, Tsilivi. Thanks for the info, about the apartments and resort, can you tell me further is it cheap, moderate or expensive to eat out in tsilivi in general and is it a good resort for children between 10 & 14 Thanks again, N.Martin

Jutt C

To N.Martin and others staying here... We couldn't fault Tom and Johns at all, very clean, everything working as it should. We hired a fan for the week for 10Es and found this ok. Though the air con costs 10Es per day! so its worth getting a fan for the first night and seeing how u get on (a tip is to shut the outer shutter type door on the balcony but leave the doudle glazed inner door open all night if your not going to use the air con). 2 Excellent places to eat are CONTESSINA opposite popeyes up the steps, and just round the corner KOUKOS greek restauraunt. we hired a 4x4 quad bike from Ionian rentals (next to popeyes)for 35Es to see the island in our own time much better than the excursions. I would avoid booking through the rep as they are a lot more expensive. Or if you want car hire try THEOS, from 35E a day for smallest car or £19 (pounds)per day for 3 days. One more thing we booked a taxi from the airport direct to Tom and Johns to avoid the coach journey, worth it for 14Es. We'd definately return to Tom and Johns too. Nice pool and bar stays open till midnightish though its a quiet bar. (dont forget to have a game of chess or mega draughts in the bar while you're there, you'll see what I mean!)

Sara C

Hi Matt,

Does Tom & John have a website we can look at and a email address, thanks that would be a great help.

Matt

Hi, I'm the rep at Tom and Johns at the mo for Manos holidays. It is a lovely block of appartments with lots of facilities close to hand yet still just on the outskirts of resort so it is nice and relaxing. The pool bar is fab and the pool is well maintained and clean. The best thing to do to find out about the resort, local services etc. is go to the welcome meeting, only a couple of the party need to attend but it is handy to find out local info, thats why we do them! Look forward to seeing you in October.

Sara C

We didn't stay at Tom & Johns but wished we had.
Popeye's is a ace place to eat day & night they look after the kids no matter how old.
You can buy babyfood from any of the lovcal supermarkets.
Tsilivi is a great place to stay with lots to do.
Tom & Johns is right by the beach and near enough to the center without walking up any hills.
Have a great time.

Barbara G

Anyone going to Tom and Johns first 2 weeks in
October? We are a large group of family and friends (20 in total), very friendly and full of fun, a bit noisy at times (due to all the kids), and we would like info on places to eat out/drink in Tsilivi as it is our 1st visit to this resort. We probably won't be all together all of the time as we have different likes/dislikes. What is the bar at Tom and Johns like? How late does it stay open till? Any info very much appreciated. Thanks.

Elizabeth L

my family are staying at Tom & Johns from 27th August. with an eight month old baby in the party can anyone tell me if we can purchase jars of baby food and all other such baby needs?

Sharon M

just arrived back this evening feeling very sad wish we could go back downfall with the apartment tom and johns tsilivi was just the shower was handheld shower hose with no curtain or shower cubicle although the air conditioner cost 10 euros per day its was well worth it. oh by the way take plenty of mossie spray bitten a few times!!! maid service consists of beds and towels changed only once a week. Pool lovely and warm with a friendly atmosphere sunbeds are free!!
We had a very enjoyable 2 weeks staying at tom and johns overall.

N M

To Jutt Crowe re. 24th July. Please let me know if you enjoyed your holiday in tsilivi when you get back and let me know how good the tom & john's apartments are. Lyn G

to n martin who is thinking of going to tom and johns next year we have just come back in june from our fourth stay at tom and johns we would not stay any where else as for the air conditioning it is 10 euroes a day which is a bit exspensive the fans are 10 euroes a week which are just as good, i am sure you will enjoy it, as you are taking young children if you want a nice english meal go to faulty towers and tell them lyn and alan sent you the food is lovely and tony and may are very friendly

N M

I am thinking about booking a family holiday at Tom & john's apartments in tsilivi next year and wonder if anyone who has been there recently can let me know if they enjoyed their stay at these apartments and what they thought of them. Oh and does anyone know the cost of hiring air conditioning.

Hi, we are going to Tsilivi this year and will be staying at Tom and Johns. We are a large group of family and friends, I'm a bit worried because of all the comments on these appatments, can anyone who has stayed there put our minds at rest? Also we vary in ages from 8 - 60, hope there is something in Tsilivi for everyone!!

Clare P

Hey we went to Tsilliv the end of august but we stayed in the nikos we had use of the pool at tom and johns.we spent every day at the pool apart from two. we liked it because there was always sunbeds free it wasnt all cramped with guests. we also ate the food there at lunch if your going have a jacket potato they were deloius and reasonably priced. although in our second week this couple had a massive beny at two ish in the morning we could hear and see it all from our apartments (nikos) the police were called. the girl had kicked the door in shouting at the top of her voice, her boyfriend chucked her down the stairs, tom and john handled this situation really well. i would just like to say i don't agree with the comment about tasos in the xl bar. we were in there every night he was never moody and we always got him back for getting us and on wednesday nights they have vk night its buy one get one get one free. if you look on the wall in there you will see it signed from gav and clare it was an excellant lively pub.

Helen T

i have just read your comments debbie and couldnt stop laughing!! i went in july and agree with you about prices etc. seems like nothing has changed since i went early july, whatever hes called used to shout at the kids 4 jumping in, and the women in shop r on pms mode all the time! but hey we still ahd a great hol! the guy u called tacky was exactly that! your description of him was perfect. we called him frogman and p**v coz thats all he ever did! im wondering if u were in the same room as us- was the hairdryer pink?? ours exploded after two days!!ha! seems like your son had a good time! altho there was no underwater love wen we were there, there was a few lesbians around which i didnt mind! i loved tsilivi and the nitelife, esp jokers bar.the only gripe i had was that evrything was dead by 2 in the morning, could av bin a bit more vibrant. anyway i look forward to hearing some more of yr hol tales!

Debbie L

this was my 1st trip to zante in aug 2003, as im usually in corfu. my first thought was that i had maybe booked into appartments owned by gays. the room was the usual basic greek room but the good thing was that we has a phone in our room. this saved queing in the street. make a phone call and pay in the supermarket downstairs. there was a wall attatchment for the shower so no balancing act was needed. there was also a tv in the room but all greek programs. a hairdryer was also hanging on the wall and upon turning it on smelt the burning within 5 seconds. the supermarket attatched to appartments was expensive and the margarita and st denis supermarkets were cheaper. they are 3 seconds down the road. you can see the beach from your room. the mopeds go past 24/7 and seem to have had the silencers removed from exhausts.the bin wagon only woke me up 3 x. i told john in the shop about complaints on the internet about the barking dog and then it went mysteriously quiet. im not homophobic but the were a lesbian couple at the pool who performed underwater activities which had to be explained to my 10yr old son before he needed to know. him and a friend went with theyre goggles on underwater lesbian watch, which gained more members as people clicked on to what they were watching, oldest watcher was 50!!!!!the food at poolside is average and dennis is plesant enough. the comical element of the staff is a man! who looks like a regurgetated lhimal from kajagoogoo. he is called tacky, strange but the name really suits him. he is on his own planet and walks round as if the wheels spinning but the hamster is dead. no one goes there for a drink at night as prices ridiculous. the pool table is 1 euro 50 cents. over a quyid to play pool. the greek kids invade the pool in the afternoon and they all sound like they are arguing. the x l bar is owned by tassos who 90% of the time is easy going and has a laugh, be prepared to get wet as he throws ice buckets over people and hoses them down. he cannot take the joke back though, we got him back by shouting tosser not tassos. he spits his dummy out regularly. sweet revenge is a nice place to eat. no one touting and 10% off or free wine with every meal. she is australian and they dont want you in and out of restaurant. popeyes is a good restaurant but you have to queue. there is a fish and chip shop just up from popeyes which also does mushy peas. we were in the middle of a heatwave and got there and it was 53 degrees, we didnt go to welcome meeting as have been going to greece for 15 years, the rep was never seen, all we knew was that she was called fiona and unless you bought trips off her , you were invisible. pdq cars next to tom and johns, alex the owner will undercut the reps by 50%.all in all i had a good holiday but sometimes it would be better if we could hire our own staff. be careful getting out of the pool at the deep end as the steps come out of their footing. a bit dangerous. tom works behind the bar and swims in the pool. he told the kids off for jumping in the pool as the water splashed out of the pool!!! i have never known water to throw itself back in the pool. met 2 nice couples called michael and garry and alex and darren. if you are reading this lads then thanks for making my holiday excellent and a good laugh, although me and michael did get dirty looks for laughing and giggling. i have booked my next years holiday back to sidari in corfu as tom and john want £2000 to book again, maybe if it was a 5 star hotel, but that price cannot be justified. there are 3 women working in the supermarket downstairs who make no bones about giving you the once over and then talking about you in greek. to anyone going have a nice time.

Helen T

Having just read the comments below from Mary, im really surprised that Tom n John would do that, it is out of order to say it was Manos, when it was them. I agree with the prices, but overall it is a decent place to stay in Tsilivi, i would still recommend it.

Mary M

We have taken our holidays in Greece for the past 20 years and Tom & John are the greediest pair of Greeks we have ever come across. We booked our holiday with Manos last November and when we arrived in Tsilivi on 7th August 2003 at 7.30pm we were shown our studios at Tom and Johns. One problem, we had booked three studios (there were seven in our party) but only two studios were available because Tom and John had let one of our rooms for an extra night to the previous holiday makers. They told us this had been done by the tour operators in England, but we later found out this was not true, they had done a private deal themselves. They saw that four names in our party were the same so assumed we wouldn't mind sharing a room for the first night. We were shown the studio, they had already put extra beds in, there were three single beds and a camp bed. We agreed that we were one family but it wasn't acceptable for me, my husband, my son and granddaughter (aged 16 years) to sleep together in one room, the three single beds were touching each other. We were told we had no option as there wasn't any free rooms anywhere. It was the warmest night of the year and none of us slept at all that first night because of the heat, the barking dogs and the noisy motorbikes/mopeds. We could have had the air conditioning on but on principal I would not pay Tom and John the required 10 euros per night. Their bar prices were very expensive as was their supermarket.
We did not let our first night experience spoil our holiday we had a great fortnight but I would not recommend Tom and Johns Studios to anyone.
The choice of food in Tsilivi was the best we have ever had in Greece, we enjoyed eating at the Boathouse ( a restaurant right on the beach) very good food and reasonably priced.) There were many good restaurants/tavernas in Tsivili Centre, and we had some good evenings in'THAT' Bar and the X.L Bar.
My granddaughter loved the holiday and can't wait to go back next year but she certainly won't be staying at Tom & Johns.

Dan P

I have just returned from tom amd jons and altho it was very quiet, it was a lovely place to go.The pool was fine, not too crowded, staff very friendly, food fine, just simple things like toasties etc, if u want more go to restaurant!! The beach is a minutes walk away and its white and clear blue. I really miss the place actually!! better than england!!

Craig F

stayed at tom and johns in june ,agree with dave to a certain extent
kids area was crap ,food by the pool was atrocious, pool had more bleach in it than a bottle of domestos, had a navy pair of shorts when i went their sky blue now.on the plus side we found the rooms ok as long as you cleaned them yourself the maid was allways gardening.air con a complete rip off 10 euros per night
having said all that! we had our most relaxing holiday ever in tsillivi, people were so friendly ,not too rowdy at night, have booked for next year but not at tom and johns
nb:did we have a rep???????

Dan P

DAVE- U SURE UR REAL NAMES NOT VICTOR MELDREW??

Dave S

stayed at tom and johns for two weeks and we thought it was absolute rubbish. accomodation very basic with sockets hanging out of the walls. Staff in the shop very intimidating and you always get the feeling they are talking about you. Whilst on the subject of the shop, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING!! - very expensive, go to Margarittas at the end of the road instead. The bin wagon stops outside apartments every morning between 4 and 5am guaranteed to wake you up. Onto the pool - Food awful, never busy. Childrens play area is pathetic. Overall, cannot see why everyone raves on about it. Will stay somewhere else in future.

NB. Manos rep. Fiona, never visits either.

Helen T

Im off to tom n johns in July with 2 mates. We would like to know about the nightlife and places to eat in the area of Tsilivee. Are there any excursions or trips worth going on and what are the beaches like? We're in our early 20's by the way!

Dave S

me and the family are going to Tom & Johns for the first time in June. Anybody been this year and is it ok!

Sue S

The location is very good and Tom and John are two very pleasant and courteous Greek gentlemen. The only problem I had was the noise, dogs barking all night, and motorbikes going up and down the road outside along with his sterio blasting out first thing every morning with the latest hit from Greece.

Debbie L

hi. im 37yr old single mum bringing my 9yr old son here.from what ive read it seems an excellent place to visit(except for the dog that never stops barking. can anyone give me peace of mind ive chosen the right holiday. thanx.

David G

tom&john do have safety deposit boxes as well as everything else on earth including free ouzo

Gareth C

Do the Tom and John apts have any safes...etc

David G

tom&john are hard working greek guys who are both curtious and acommodative, we have known tom &john for some years now and it gets better every time we visit, good pool, food, drink, and of course the free ouzo in the shop.we rang from england john sorted the room for us out it was so easy no hassle, good earthquake jim the earth moved for me on my 50TH looking foward to october

Jim J

First of all in answer to Craig the sunbeds were free round the pool but you have to pay for those on the beach. We returned from Tom and Johns last Thursday the 8th August after a wondeful 3 week holiday. First time in Zante but we will be booking same next year. Tom and John are two great guys and all their staff are polite and courteous. The accomodation was Greek and no one should expect English standards or even the standards of Spain and Portugal. We were happy with our studio and large balcony. A must was the air conditioning which cost 8 euros per day. The resort is full of excellent restaurants and bars. We have no critisism of any of the bars and eating houses. The 2 earthquakes (5.2 and 4.7) were a bit worrying but a great experience. All in all a great time for me my wife and 6 year old daughter Beth. A final word for the Manos rep. Claire. She dealt with problems as though they were her own. Jim Julie and Beth Jones (18/7/02 to 08/08/02)

Craig F

we have just booked for tom and johns for next year do we have to pay for the sunbeds round the pool this scandolous practice is becoming rife in greece

Paul M

Nice place but if you are going to stay here bring a gun so you can shoot the bloody dog that starts barking at 11.00pm and stops at 8.00am. I threw a cocktail over the mangy beast last night so I feel a bit better about it.

David G

known tom&john for ten years. have been going in the shop eversince. they now has a pool bar run by george the barman a very friendly dude, serves great food all day every day. will be back in june. al sithi

Kevin C

Our second visit to Tom & Johns so we obviously like it, the location is just perfect. Yiannis was very friendly but the shop prices were very dissapointing. We'd definatly go there again but will shop elsewhere!!

Anita W

3rd time in Tsilivi and by far the best accomodation yet for cleanliness and location and also air conditioning. The only downside was the dogs to the left and back of the property who slept all day and then barked through the night whenever a moped passed by(its not the dogs fault they are caged up all day and night and from what we could see never got to stretch their legs at al, they need lessons on how to keep animals over there).Used the pool opposite everyday after the beach and also used the bar for the odd coffee, we always found the staff to be pleasant most helpfull although we could have done without the greek music blaring out some evenings. The shop below was really convenient and was always open.We would definately recommend these studios.

John M

In an ideal position, spacious accommodation, clean and well equipt. owners not all that friendly and supermarket overpriced, the pool was o.k. the bar snack/bar staff were more interested in chatting to their mates than serving customers. but there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by giving excellent value.

Tom T

i am actually doing this e mail; at tom and johns and it is without question superb, you must visit and they are not paying me to say this. kevin for North wales.

Pete L

we went to tom & john's pool bar at the insistance of our children who were attracted to the play area. we waited 45 minutes for a beer and the food took even longer. poor, even by greek timekeeping and the staff were english, who complained of sore feet. sore a**e more like! food very mediocre at best, very greasy & tasteless. to end on a positive note, their sunshine was excellent.

Alison S

Funny - I know them as Tom & John and they are with Manos - but then I've only been there 10 times!

Trish M

Studios are a short walk from the main town and a short walk down one of the side roads to the beach takes only about 5minutes. Tassos & Kostas are the 2 brothers who run the bar & the studios and they are 2 very friendly people. These are exclusive to Golden Sun who have all ways been superbe to travel with. Tsilivi is a great place not too commercialized (YET) bars have music but no disco's yet. Food in many restrauants are all execellant. Go you will love it.

Eugene S

Great location, exelent facilities,t.v. air-con. very clean and tidy, frendly owners,i recomend it. Some noise from dogs barking next door.

Dave S

Cooooool - pool, drinks, breakfast, snacks and playground for kids.
