we visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a fellow holidaymaker but can honestly say that we would not recommend this place to anyone as i ordered chicken kiev only to discover after several mouthfuls that the chicken was raw in the middle. fortunately for me i was ok but spent the rest of my holiday worrying that i may go down with food poisoning

Those people giving the bad reviews below are crazy! Athina is by far one of the best restaurants in tsilivi -with the other two best being Popeyes and Valentinas castle!

We definately recommend it!

very disapointed with the negative comments  these people obviously don't know how to eat out in style

I was really surprised to read the reviews below.  I can only assume there has been a change of staff since last year, as our experience of Athina was entirely pleasurable.  My family of 4 visited Tsilivi in May 07.  We dined at Athina amongst other restaurants, then returned there for the last two nights of our stay as it had by far the best food (starters/main/dessert/cocktails!), service and atmosphere.  My elder son (not pictured) is an expert on steak and believed Athina's T-bone steak was the best he had ever tasted.  The waiters were swift, attentive and fun without being intrusive.  The manager and staff spontaneously broke into Greek dancing at quiet times, much to the delight of us all.  At the end of the evening the chef came out to smile and chat with diners, and received a warm welcome.  We were sat alongside other repeat diners who were singing the praises of the restaurant also.  Athina - thanks and keep up the good work.

We ate here once. The food was awful. The mixed grill was well over-cooked. The service was rubbish. BIG BIG NO NO.

Just got back on the 4th sept and not sure how i feel about this place. When you first go in it seems nice and friendly, the waiter with the bread the waiter with your drinks, then you get the waiter who takes your food order and it just goes down hill. He just seems uninterested in what you are asking him. Although i got chips with my beef stew instead of greek potatoes and rice and was told by the unhelpful waiter that they had none left. We all did enjoy our meals. But definatly would not go back. 

We thought the service was terrible and unfriendly!!  The food was nothing to write home about either.  When we sat down, we were asked what we wanted to drink and when we said we would just have wine with the meal, the waiter went off in a huff... 

The rest of the evening was spoilt by the attitude of the staff.  We couldn't get out quickly enough

The waiters at Athena are very kind and welcoming. The food is excellant value for money. My sister had a great 5th birthday dinner there. They organised ballons, flowers on the table and a chocolate cake with sparklers on it.

I realy miss the waiter called Rusten he was good fun.  My sister liked Alfred and George If you visit Tsvilli you must go there it is a great resturant.

Suprised by other comments on this place. Both me and my partner loved this restaurant. Admittedly the guy trying to get us in every night was annoying but it was more than made up for by the food, good service and pricing was good as well.

I am surprised to read all the negative comments about this place as I thought it was great.  The moussaka and dolmades were lovely - I am a big fan of dolmades and these were the best I tasted in the whole of Tsilivi!  Pricing was good, wine was nice as well - would definitely go back here.  The huge amount of people in this restaurant every night would suggest we were not the only ones who liked it as well.

im sorry but when i went here it was disgusting, the service was good and i can see why for my meal i ordered a pizza they gave me a large dry cheese on toast .... and it werent a mistake in the order they classed it as pizza! my sister ordered chicken, she described it as a stone! if you want a nice restaurant go to stamnes or popeyes, and the mcdonalds there is nice aswell!

After being badgered for a week to go into this restaurant, we decided to try it. The food wasnt great, the service wasnt great and they gave us 2bills with 2 different prices on! The woman issuing the bills couldnt speak a word of english and we ended up paying 4euro more than we should of.I wouldnt recommend this place to nE1 as there are many other quality places to dine.

Just got back and cannot believe ther comments about this great restaurant.George is a character and if you try talking to him instead of avoiding him you will find that out.

The guy on the street was a real pain - even if you were walking across other side of the road, he tried to dodge traffic to wave his menu in your face....

Pretty poor on all accounts.

we started with garlic bread and mezze. just plain french bread like. dry and poor taste. the mezze tasted as if it came right out of a supermarketfreezer and right into the frying pan. we could done that at the apartment too.
this starter set the mood for the rest of the dinner which was poor too. too basic, too supermarketfreezer-like.
we decided to have have our dessert at koukos restaurant. another recommemded restaurant is moby d**k at the beach. great garlic bread there. we ate out each night and athena was really below average on the taste-side.

Right next to the amarylis apartments, the food was really nice, not too expensive and the staff were really friendly!

We ate here on our last night and hated it.The food was terrible.
It was very basic compared to the other places we ate in.
It was a bad way to end a brilliant holiday.

Big Hi from Ronnie & Rachel - we visited this restuarant every night. The food, service, and price was second to none. Especially George who made us very welcome hence the reason we just kept coming back. I'd also like to mention that during our first week, a rival restuarant owner (allegedly) set fire to Athena's in the middle of the night. It took the fire dept 45 mins to get there, by which time the restuarant practically gutted! And guess what folks, the staff there worked solidly day and night and had the restuarant back up and running in 8 days!! There's a lesson to be learnt back here in Blighty!!

By all means, try other eating establishments, but you'll not find better than Athena's - it's simply the best!!

Ate here several times during our visit. My self and the rest of the family enjoyed the food and found the waiters and George to be friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Would eat here again when we next go back to Tsilivi

My friend Pat & I visited Tsilivi (again) in may, and I have to say that this restaurant is the best in the village, and the food is fresh every day.Excellent menu and value for money.
I cannot fault the service, and would like to say hello to George, and a big thank you for making my birthday special.
One noticable thing was that at that time the resort was quite quiet, but Athena was packed every night, which speaks for itself. I guarantee you will visit this one more than once!
