click to enlarge We thouroughly enjoyed eating here about four or five times over the two weeks we were there in May 2006. The owners James and Val always made us very welcome as did the other staff members Sue, Miranda and the girls in the kitchen. We would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

You can find Fat Olives at the Planos end of Tsilivi.  If you go on the main road just past the Jupiter Hotel it is on the opposite side of the road. Hope this helps and I can certainly recommend the restaurant.

ok, where is fat olives? we must eat here as veg is unheard of in Greece and I don't quite believe it!!!! My children will be thrilled (not!) We know filoxenia aparts and popeyes, family and Sandra's, so any directions would be helpful, many thanks.

Just back from two weeks in Tsilivi and we could have eaten at Fat Olives every night!  Food was amazing and service flawless.  My partner even managed to get the receipe for his favourite dish on the menue (& second helpings too).  James & Val were such good hosts.   If you go to Tsilivi you HAVE to eat at Fat Olives.

your comment here     UNTILL youv`e eaten at FAT OLIVES you have not found the best restrauant in Tsilivi ,no in the whole of Zante. Can not decide which meal I enjoyed the most Jumbo Prawns, fillet steak,it doesn`t matter, the choice is great the quality superb but to top it all the price is very fair . Valerie and James make you feel like a houe guest more than just a customer! More than well worth  the twenty minute stroll from my apartment [thanks for the lift back James].
Keep up the good work and dont forget the girls in the kitchen!! Seeyou soon

Once you eat here you will not want to go elsewhere. The food was fantastic. House wine excellent. Friendly staff. Pleasant surrounding.  Mussels were delicous, Fillet Steak was wonderful, potatoes fantastic, veg was fresh & cooked just right.  Apple pie out of this world. Wish I could eat there every night. May be a bit more expensive than some but well worth the extra money.

We had many marvellous meals here and wish we had discovered it on our first night.  Food was presented beautifully and vegetables were a pleasant change.  Roast potatoes were to die for.  Swordfish steak was very well cooked and the king prawns with bacon on rice were fantastic.  Lamb cutlets were gorgeous as was the roast pork and apple and sultana sauce.  Pizza was a big hit with our son and the fish fingers for our other fussy one were perfect!  Val and James (photo) have a restaurant with everything you could wish for.  Genuine friendly service and no feeling of being rushed as with some other tavernas.  We will be back next year and hope to see them again....lets hope they have a good stock of caramel ice     cream - and thanks for the worry beads!

What a treat to find such an excellent restaurant abroad. Fresh veg to die for and oh my god those desserts - waistline still suffering but just could not resist.!!! We just kept going back and worked our way through the menu and not one dissapointing meal - well done Val and James your really deserve the success for all your hard work. Its worth going back to the Island just to visit Fat Olives again!!. You have been warned.....do not miss it!

We arrived back in Scotland last week, and the thing we miss most about our holiday in Tsilivi is Fat Olives Restaurant!  Val and James are the perfect hosts - nothing is too much trouble.  The food was excellent - the best in the resort.  We tried 6 different places for evening meals, but just kept returning to Fat Olives.  When we return to Zante, we will definitley be visiting Val and James at Fat Olives again and again!!

Lorna M  (11 July 2005)

Have just came back from Tsilivi, and Fat Olives was recommended by someone who stays and works on the Island, we went and were not dissapointed. Food was excellent, as was the service, it was so nice to eat fresh veg, beautifuly prepared. Val and James were so friendly and took the time to make sure everything was perfect. If we ever return to Tsilivi we will certainly be returning to fat Olives.
We wish them continued success.

Gill M  (02 June 2005)

Our daughter Amy has worked in Tsilivi 4 years now and introduced us to  Fat Olives. We were not disappointed.
Val and James work hard to make every one welcome. Nice to have fresh vegetables served, Every thing we ate was first class and the desserts are delicious.
The second night we went they were very busy and need to take on more staff, but who wants to rush a meal on holiday

FAT OLIVES IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IN TSILIVI ,JAMES AND VAL ARE THE SWEETEST PEOPLE WE HAVE EVER MET.WE HAVE BEEN TO ZANTE THREE YEARS ON THE TROTT AND LOVE FAT OLIVES.WE ARE STAYING ALL INCLUSIVE THIS YEAR BUT WILL BE MAKING A TRIP TO FAT OLIVES CANT WAIT!

Amanda B  (25 May 2005)

Have been going to Zante for many years and for the first time tried Fat Olives during our first holidays of the year - 1st week in 2005 and were very very impressed.  We actually stayed in Tsilivi last year and failed to find it.  If we had I think we would have eaten there every single night.  The food, service and atmosphere was excellent.  It was one of our best meals we have ever eaten abroad.  We go back to Zante (Alikanas) on 27 May and we will be sure to travel over to Tsilivi to eat again.  The menu is just mouthwatering and you really do want to try everyone elses!  Keep up the good work we will be there again very soon!

Bri C  (24 May 2005)

Fat olives restaurant is located on the corner of the main Tsilivi road and the planos beach road and looks somewhat insignificant on first impressions, but this really is a top class restaurant, with excellent food and service, nothing is too much trouble and you are made so welcome. If you are staying in Tsilivi or anywhere else on the island for that matter you must eat at least once at Fat Olives during your stay! We will be on our return to Zante!

Robert H  (23 May 2005)

Sorry, made a mess of the message, ratings should be excellent.

Robert H  (23 May 2005)

Excellent restaurant, melt in the mouth food, wonderful company, try it, you won't be disappointed.

Anne P  (16 May 2005)

First class restaurant, James & val deserve to do well, Lovely to get fresh veg, wanted everthing on the menu ,went back 5 nights running, miss it & you will be sorry! A bit more expensive , but worth it! 2-9 May 2005

Andy W  (02 November 2004)

The staff at Fat Olives, despite being extremely busy, were a perfect blend of courtesy and efficiency. The cuisine was, by far, the best we tried. We tried a large number of tavernas in Tsilivi during the last week of the 2004 season. A very obvious fault of most was that they 'imitated' Greek cuisine (and had a go at other national dishes to cover up/keep the punters happy) - but didn't quite hit the spot from an authenticity point of view.

Fat Olives (and Zeus) really do provide the 'real thing' - tasty, hot, timely and well presented food. It was a joy to eat there (and at Zeus).

Yia mas, Fat Olives!! Keep it up!!

Ray Q  (22 October 2004)

I have travelled all over Europe this year including Ireland, Sweden, Germany, France Spain and Wales! I can honestly say that the best Spaghetti Mare I've tasted was in Fat Olives. Well done to Val & James for the excellent service, good wine and fantastic welcome we received. Anyone who goes to Zante and misses this place hasn't had a proper holiday! We will be back!

Roy L (20 September 2004)

where is the location of this restaurant
thank you

Rachel M  (15 September 2004)

We tried all the restaurants marked 10/10 and liked this one the best. The owners (James and Val) and staff were really friendly and Enzo's cooking was wonderful. Try the beef kokkinisto, any of the pasta dishes and anything that comes with the homemade tartare sauce and mayonnaise which were out of this world. The local house wines were also good.

Richard S  (22 August 2004)

Dont miss this one when in in Tsilivi!. Terrific service and really nice staff serving absolutely top notch grub. Try the fish and shellfish soup with garlic bread, but skip lunch to save room for the generous portions. The kids loved the spaghetti and the souvlakis as well.

Consistenyly good and the best restaurant we foound in Tsilivi

Julie C  (28 July 2004)

Arrived back from Zante on 26/7/04. First tried Fat Olives under recommendation from Sam our Rep and was so impressed we had our evening meal there almost every night. The service from James, Val, Jess and Kia is second to none, we were made to feel so welcome and the food that Enzo makes is wonderful. The food is excellent value for money. A must for everyone going to Zante. Thanks to Fat Olives for making our holiday (Thanks again Val & James for the necklace you gave to Leanne xx)

Colin S  (22 July 2004)

Slightly more expensive than some of the other resturants but certainly one to try as its that little bit different. Excellant food very very well presented. I would save this one for that special occasion

Pat N  (17 July 2004)

What a superb restaurant, unfortunately, we only ate here twice as we didn't find it until the second week of our holiday. James and Val make you so welcome, they're such lovely, friendly people you feel like family. Enzo, the chef, is just amazing and the food is to die for. Only problem is when I want to go for a special meal now I'll have to fly to Zakynthos!!! Try the salmon parcel or calamari starters they just melt in the mouth and the meditteranean risotto or pork with apple and raisin sauce make my mouth water thinking about them. I could go on forever, suffice to say it's the best! If you're going to Tsilivi it is a must to visit.

Jim D  (11 July 2004)

Clarke B  (01 July 2004)

As a top chef myself me and my beautiful girlfriend Carolyn enjoyed eating at the restaurant and would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting Zante, and the chef Enzo was a really nice person, thank-you.

Debbie C  (01 June 2004)

Im my opinion the best restaurant in Tsilivi. James and Valarie are lovely people and we were made to feel very welcome. The food is excellent( roast lamb and fillet steaks for us, spaghetti carbonara and chicken nuggets for the kids). The service is second to none and the presentation is better that a lot of top london restaurants. Great value approx 50 euros(£35) for a family of 4 with wine and desserts(it is wise to share desserts as they are huge)
