Spiros is a great host and makes you feel really welcome, Claires great to talk to during the night, Nick and Andreus are great cooks and you're guaranteed a great meal x x Tony and Costas are great fun aswell. They all come and talk to you throughout the night to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

Sharon E  (01 September 2007)        10/10

This was our favourite restaurant, the food and service faultless. Definitely the best restaurant in Kalamaki.  The staff were funny and friendly. I would recommend the swordfish, usually when I have swordfish abroad it is served as a small portion but the portions in the Artemis were huge!  A big thank you!

Phil D  (13 August 2007)        10/10

click to enlarge We visited here 3 times on our holiday, Had different meals each time could not fault the food. Spiros and staff made you feel most welcome out of all the places we ate this was the best! Would recommend the Red tex mex if you like spicy food like i do, but they made it hotter for me with more chilli's.

Ate here on the last night and after paying the bill, Spiros presented us with a bottle of wine to take home!
Thank you Spiros Hope to come back to Zakynthos for the third time soon we know where to come for a good meal..Phil / Julie / Alex and Dan

Julie M  (07 August 2007)        10/10

DELICIOUS!!!!

We found this restaurant on our penultimate night, and came back on our last night the food was that good.   We were recommended the seabass on our first visit which was the best i've ever tasted and on our second visit there was no seabass but I left the fish choice to the restaurant and I ended up with sole which again was absolutely delicious.   The kids loved their meals and they got free ice cream with sparklers which they loved.
Shame we didn't find this place earlier....
We'll be back!

Sweet P  (25 July 2007)        10/10

Hello Spyros and a special HI to Andonis. The weather here in Scotland is RUBBISH compared to lovely HOT, HOT Zakynthos. I'm missing your mussel saganaki and spaghetti bolognaise. Especially the gourgeous ice-cream. My mum and dad are missing the moussaka. My brother on the other hand is missing his stuffed tomatoes and I'm missing you. Spyros I hope that you're still wearing my hat! Remember I'm coming over toclick to enlarge live with you in your huge mclick to enlargeansion in 7 years!

Paul M  (15 July 2007)        10/10

I think Mr Barry Richards must have been on drugs when he visited the Artemis.

Me and my family have been to Kalamaki 2 years running. Last year out of 14 nights we used the Artemis 11 nights. This year we used the Artemis every night out of a 2 week holiday. We found the food, service, and efficiency of the staff to be brilliant. (We were asked if we would like a drink as soon as we got there Barry).

Spyros, Nikos, Claire and the rest of the gang are great. They always had time for a chat and made our son Kieran feel part of the team at the Restaurant, I'll explain. Kieran asked Spyros one night if he could work in the restaurant, so he put him to work doing little jobs around the restaurant. This made Kieran feel really special and he made quite a few tips, it made his holiday and he made friends with quite a few of the regulars. Kieran hurt his ankle one night, (not in the Artemis by the way) and Nikos came out of the kitchen to drive us back to the Hotel. If that is not out of this world Service i don't know what is.

See you all in 2009 guys.

Spyros i will send you some pictures of Egypt next year and i bet it isn't crap (hehe). Oh and England will beat Greece in the Euro 2008, come on England and Panathanikos. Just kidding about Panathanikos guys. All the best

Pete H  (22 June 2007)        10/10

Can't believe the comments from Sally, totally out of contrast with the other comments of other visitors to the Artemis. Perhaps sour grapes!!!!!!! and I don't mean the Korkeno caresa (red wine).

Judith G  (11 June 2007)        10/10

We stopped here with three days left of our holiday.  The food and service was excellent.  Fresh, hot very well cooked and very good value for money.  Nowhere else could beat it. Our last three evenings were spent at the Artemis.

Emily B  (07 June 2007)        10/10

What a fantastic restaurant, good food, good atmosphere, good value what more could you want? We went out in October and had 6 meals at Artemis they were all fantastic on our last night Spyros had been hunting and his mother cooked the bird's and made us a fantastic meal. The waiters and Claire were all very friendly   I would recomend this restaurant to everyone they cater for all ages. I will definatley be going back ok I might be biast  it is just to see Sypros (lots of kisses baby can't wait to see you next month hurry and finish picking them olives xxxx) But seriously try it and I bet you'll love it
Hi to Nikos & Claire and Kostaz

Emily B  (01 November 2006)

:

We visited Artemis in August of 2006.  We only stayed in Kalamaki for one week.  Out of that week 4 nights out of seven were spent at the Artemis with Spiros, Nikos, Costa and Hari  We stayed at Artemis until 3am one morning with the waiters.  I couldn't of asked for more, the service was excellent, the food was delicious and the waiters were VERY charming.  I would highly recomend Artemis to all ages.  They can cater for anyone.  Try the Chicken Souvlaki!  Yummy!
I just want to say a big hello to all the staff, I will be back in May.

Lots of Love Emily

P.S  Costa is not gay.  Clare, hope you have tamed Nikos!

Pete H  (24 October 2006)

Visited in October this year, found the food to be excellent, along with the service. Staff all extremely friendly. Would recommend anyone visiting Kalamaki to give it a try. Well done Nikos , Spyros and all.

Rachel L  (14 September 2006)

Whilst the food we ate here was very good - unfortunately the service let it down!  I don't expect to have to ask more than once for the bill and certainly having to ask three times is unacceptable!   Also the waiters could do with being a little more professional.

Tracy C  (30 August 2006)

This restaurant was excellent. We went there 3 times during our 2 week stay. There was something to suit every body and the service was excellent.

Paul M  (27 August 2006)

hi evryone at artemis , hope youre still  having a great season and still making loads of new freinds, missing your great food hope to see you again early october . keep me some stifado or kleftico 2 greek meals to die for theyre so good.

Jessica   (24 August 2006)

Well .... I have literally just got back about an hour ago and i thought id come and comment all of the restaurants we ate in over our 2 weeks in Kalamaki!

The man outside is lovely ... he always gave my little sister a flower as we walked past !! The meal was also nice.. I had a margarita pizza and it was lovely

My mum had the Swordfish, which was lovely!!

Ooohhhh we were asked if we wanted normal or garlic bread; but when our meal came we didnt get any bread!! And in the Bill it said the bread.. but that wasnt a problem .. because we didnt get it we didnt have to pay!! Very nice restaurant!! I miss Kalamaki already

Gareth & Sarah  (13 August 2006)

Excellent all round service. Spiros, Nikos, Costos and Hari where out of this world. Nothing was too much for them. Danielle and Katie the new waitresses deserve a mention too, as does Clare. this place gets the best recommendation from us, we couldn't find any faults at all.  Definately going back in the future. Good work guys, and Costas isn't gay!!!!!

Ann M  (11 August 2006)

Was really dissapointed this year with the Artemis.  We went on a quite night and the waiters were more interested in getting other customers into the restaurant, rather than looking after the customers that they had.
I asked if I could have roast potatoes with my meal, but all they gave me was fat chips!!!
We asked for our bill, gave them the money, 10 minutes later they still hadn't given us our change back.  We would have left a tip but don't like them assuming they could keep the change.

Paul M  (06 August 2006)

a really friendly restraunt with a good attitude to all its customers, ideal for families where you also have the advantage of 10% discount with your privalage card which you get on your first visit. the meals are good and the staff always work hard to please everyone and you do get good value for money. if you want something which is not on the menue or you want something different to go with your meal please ask as they will do their best to help.hope you have a good season , best wishes paul, dawn and gav. ps costas is a star dont wind him up. YAMMAS  to everyone at artemis.

Tina   (26 June 2006)

After many nights of being pestered to eat there, we finally went.  It was a nice meal with pleasant waiters, and good value for money.  The guy outside was very friendly, and a real charmer to the ladies!!

David B  (03 October 2005)

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the roseland hotel just around the corner from the Artemis restaurant.  We ate at the restaurant 3 times and really enjoyed everything we had.  I can recommend the Moussaka and the beef stifado both very tasty and quite filling.  The house wine is lovely too. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff as are most of the greek people.Cant wait to go back ..missin it already and only been back 24 hours!!

Tracy B  (23 July 2005)

We ate three times at Artemis during our two week stay, and each time we tried a different starter and main course. The food was excellent, we tried greek dishes mainly (lamb kleftiko, stifado etc)  but there was a large choice on their menu if you fancied something not as traditional. The staff were friendly and helpful and the restuarant was clean and the surroundings very pleasant.  The prices were very good, on one occasion we had three courses each! a litre of house wine and two cocktails and the bill was about 38 euros.

Definitely a place to try!

Ken B  (22 July 2005)

Having read the negative comments made by some of the other guests I can't help wondering what went wrong on their visit. I have used this restaurant many times, somethimes as part of a group and on occassions just as a couple. Each time we have gone the service, quality of the food, the atmosphere and cleanliness were all beyond reproach. I have nothing negative to say about this facility. I found this to be the best place we had tried on the resort and admittedly I haven't used them all but I have used a few and this was the best by far. I found the price to be pretty much the same as you will find around the resort so I tend to look for other things that will give the place an edge, like the quality, service and atmosphere and in my opinion Artemis has that edge, but don't take my word for it go and see for yourselves. I can highly recommend Artemis for a good night out even if you have children, the team will ensure you will have a momorable visit.

PS. Spiros, If your reading this we'll see you next year.

Claudia C  (06 October 2004)

Try the lamb but avoid the meze for two as a starter!

Suzanne P  (03 September 2004)

Artemis is an incredibly good restaurant. The waiters are very friendly and funny with children. The food is some of the best we had on our holiday and although you might feel hassled to go in for a meal, this is just the way all restaurants on Zante tout for business. We found that after we had dined in Artemis, each evening they were incredibly helpful with finding other places to eat! We did return to eat there because we enjoyed it so much. Prices were a little higher than other restaurants we tried but nowhere near the highest.

Jane W  (27 August 2004)

When we first visited the Artemis, we were overwhelmed by the friendlyness of all the staff there, especially Harry on the front who always had a friendly smile. The food was delicious and traditional greek, needless to say, we returned for the next 5 nights. We ordered something different every night and the food never failed to disappoint, The staff were great with the kids too. As for the people who have been complaining on this web page, may I suggest that next time you look for a bog-standard british cafe, which may be more to your liking.

Karina M  (18 August 2004)

Artemis is a great restaurant!! we ate there many times. nice atmosphere, lovely people and amazing food everytime.!! it was all THAT and a bag of chips.. !! we can highly recomend this restaurant for all zakynthos/Kalamaki visitors..(try out the sirloin pepper steak) m-m-MMMM!!!!!

Laura C  (13 August 2004)

This is the onlty taverna we came back to. The food was fantastic, service impecable, cudnt do more for us (a couple, not a big group)the house wine was cheap, delicious and cold, the meal was served within 10 mins of ordering, hot and delicious as well. Cant please all the moaners out there!!!
The guy standing outside was always polite (unlike some of the others from other bars and tavernas). The second time we went back, we were remembered, they asked how our holiday was going and were very friendly.
A must,definately go.
My boyf loved the baked feta for starters, tried it all over, here was the best. I suggest penne Artemis, yumyum!

D E  (02 August 2004)

Can only think that some of the other commenters were at a different restaurant ?????????????????????? We found that the food, waiters etc. was all very nice (can only feel sorry for the poor bloke that stands outside all night, every night asking you 'politely', to come in)

Kylie B  (26 July 2004)

Loved this place, infact so much so it was the only place we ate twice in two weeks.
The Food (i had garlic steak) was really nice
The waiters were polite and appreciated us trying to learn greek and were willing to help when we wanted a group photo taken (saw them help other people as well)
as for the man outside he didnt bug us and found that when people were walking passed he was chatting to them and didnt bug them as much as some other people did outside other places!
I'd go back there

Andy M  (03 July 2004)

Not worth visiting. There are plenty of other better places to eat within 50m eg Paulos, Herra or the Olive Tree are all excellent.

Leanne   (27 June 2004)

well i stayed in th roseland hotel (lovely i might add) and so this resturant was right on th turning to th main road. overall th food was fairly good but more so th waiters were lovely, very friendly and very funny. try it for yourself, dont judge on other peoples opinions!

Amber W  (25 June 2004)

all the waiters were wounderful and very nice to us we went there quite alot and had a laugh with them! i would recomend it to any one i know because they were all lovely

Michelle F  (20 June 2004)

Tried this on first night as it was closest to apartments. Absolutely disgusting. Did not go back at all even though one of the waiters always stood around outside trying to get people to go inside. Got fed up with this night after night so discovered another route into centre of Kalamaki which meant we could avoid him.

David H  (10 June 2004)

CRAP!!!! Meatballs were the size of marbles & burnt to a crisp. Spagetti meal contained two bits of ham and a nasty cream sauce. Complained & waiter took plate away & returned 5 mins later with a few bits added, couldn't understand why I didn't want it. 'I am not the cook' was the closest to an apology. Meanwhile bloke outside drags in fresh customers. Cynical tourist trap!! First restaurant on the main road at the Bitzaro Palace junction. AVOID!!

Jon D  (21 January 2004)

The food was UNBELIEVABLE!!!! It was fab!!! Their table manners were immaculate and Alex outside was really Cool!!! Recomend this plac to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!

Julie R  (12 October 2003)

This was the only restaurant that we returned to. The food was excellent and really reasonably priced but it was the welcome that we came back for. The waiters were very friendly and we were offered Amstel and wine on the house as well as the usual shots at the end of the meal. We will be staying in Laganas next year but will definitely be getting a taxi back to this one!

Paul & Sam  (30 September 2003)

Must of caught them on a bad night, waited 50 mins for a drink and 1hr 20mins for lukewarm average meal.Did complain but got apathetic response. They seemed to concentrate on bigger groups of guests and ignore couples - good business sense I suppose but not the usual 'Greek' friendly touch.

Christopher D  (27 September 2003)

Good food good service great well done

Mark H  (19 August 2003)

Out of all (many) restaurants we tried, this was the best. Maybe they've reviewed the comments, they certainly have pulled their socks up ! Absolutely fab...

Yannis M  (03 August 2003)

GOOD PLACE TO EAT,GOOD WINE TOO!!

Kirsty M  (03 August 2003)

WE HAD A GOOD MEAL HERE,BUT YOU CANT KEEP THE MOANING PEOPLE HAPPY CAN YOU?

Jezebel G  (01 June 2003)

Good varied menu, lovely setting on the main Kalamaki Laganas Road but away from everything else. Delicious food but my one complaint would be the at the two vegetarian sounding dishes I ordered (garlic mushrooms and cheese crepe) both transpired to be meaty. Veggies get used to this, but it only happned to me twice in six months in Kalamaki and both times were here! otherwise one of our favourites. Cool name too!

Troy R  (18 August 2002)

Not bad, - certainly not the best in Kalamaki by any means, but the staff wre all friendly enough. Food was ok - perhaps could have been a little hotter guys !. Only ate their once (due to the number of other restaurants we wanted to try). The prices this end of Kalamaki are more expensive than in the older par (uptowards the Cave bar etc)- this was repeated across most of the restaurants this end of the resort.

Charlotte D  (08 August 2002)

the staff were very friendly, very funny. food was lovely. would recommend it to anyone (apart from the person who posted before me....)

Louise G  (29 June 2002)

WE DECIDED TO TRY THIS RESTAURANT TOWARDS THE END OF OUR HOLIDAY.WE FOUND THE FOOD COLD ,THE MENU INACCURATE ,AND THE WAITERS RUDE AND OVERALL THE PLACE WAS POOR VALUE FOR MONEY.WE WERE EXPECTED TO KEEP OUR STARTER FORK AND KNIVES FOR OUR MAINCOURSE. WHEN I COMPLAINED ,I WAS GIVEN A NAPKIN TO WIPE THEM. OUR ADVICE "STAYAWAY".

Helen C  (19 May 2002)

you must visit this place during your holiday I went 6 nights out 7

Frank G  (19 May 2002)
