Went once food was very nice but they couldn't wait to get rid of us as they were very busy. 

 We stayed in Alykes but on our wedding anniversary had our meal here and we weren't disappointed.  The food was excellent, as was the service.  Nothing was too much trouble for them and we are so glad we decided to celebrate our anniversary here!

We had a meal in here on our first night in Alykanas and the food and service was great

went to this place a few times over the years.its always busy think cause of the homemade food and the really good service.the manager is top on the job and the staff always has a smile for you.try their lamb kleftiko or any of the DIONISOS meals.my kids loved this place and they wanted to go there all the time cause of the play area and the extended kids menu,they ll do anythink from the menu in a kid portion.one of the best holiday restaurants we ve ever been

The only place we eat at twice. Always busy and bustling but still good friendly service. Good food with reasonable prices. A great place to eat.

ate here twice and both times sent my food back because it was cold,but saying that it was dealt with promptly.

We ate here many times during our holiday in August and once again did not have a bad meal. As always the service was very efficient and the staff very friendly and accomodating. There is a wide range of food on the new menu and we particularly enjoyed the Sea Bass (you have to ask for it), the mixed souvlaki, Pork & Lamb Dionysos. The house red is very palatible and easy to drink and  the new smooth taramaslata was yummy.

We had heard about this restaurant and were not disappointed.  Food and service were excellent and although a little bit more expensive than other restaurants it was well worth the extra.  We went twice and I had seafood rice and chicken souvilaki and my husband had sea bass and swordfish.  Cannot fault the food or service at all.

ate there only once,food was really good,prices about average,service really good,only gripes was kids play erea was over run by toe rags[bullys]my 7yr old daugter felt intimidated,no fault of the resturant,parents just glade to get there pain in the a*s* kids out of there hair.

oh my god!!!! this was the best restraunt ever!!! arrice was soooo gud lukin!!  i got 2 have my picture took with him!! he was always playin joke on me n making me embarrassed ((like the time i went into the toilet n he nearly hit me with the door!!)) we always whistled to each other as we walked past each other and he always used to bike down to his restraunt at 9 at night on his bike n he used to ride next to me i had my birthday at this place as well it was soooooo good i had a big chocolate cake it was the best cake in the world!!! and everyone was singing and clappin at me i cant waight to come back to see you miss you loads *+*mel*+* xx

I have not been to this restaurant but by the sounds of things the food sounds lovely the boy waiter sounds like he attracts everyone. I dont think i wil attend this retaurant if the waiter is working their because i dont want to be attracted by this young man. xxx Thank you for your time.

I'D JUST LIKE TO SAY IT WAS A WONDERFUL RESTAURANT AND THE SERVICE WAS GR8T AND THE FOOD WAS LOVELY. I WUD JST LIKE TO SAY IF U FELL FOR ARRICES CHARMS LIKE ME THEN DO NOT FEEL GUTTED COZ THANKS TASHA FOR TELLING ME BUT I KINDA GESSED. HE MUST OF HAD A GIRL A WEKK. GEORGINA HE ASKED ME FOR A SWIM TO AND ON A PEDILLO SO U WUDNT WANT TO GET IN TOUCH WITH HIM. OVERALL IT WAS A GR8T HOLIDAY AND I'D LIKE TO GO AGAIN TO GIVE HIM A TASTE OF HIS OWN MEDICINE.

Lots of people really liked his place we went once but did not like it

The food is very good, served with fresh vegatables and not just fries. Great play area for kids, not just a baby slide.

heya every1i no dis is supposed 2 b bowt da food n everthin but i gotta say dis! the young waitor there called arrice seems 2 get 2 no everyone if you no what i mean. I met him on the first night and we enjoyed a nice week togther but since then i've been thinking things over and things have clicked into place. Other people have posted on here asking about him like i have so be warned yea he mayb cute luking but hes done this with a lot of girls beofre him. Sorry if you didn't no this nayone but just thought u'd ave 2 no. luv tasha x-x-x

hey, i only went here once with my family. i know this is a page to write about how the meal was but i wanted to get hold of the little boy, looks about 14 who works at dionysos and in the morning he works on the neach selling fruit. if you don't remember me i was the girl u asked to go for a swim with and i really would like to contact you! i did get diana, the women working in the shop next door to say goodbye, i miss you already, we will b coming back next year so i'll see you then.

  we thought it was over priced and the chicken a la creme was well overcooked tough is an understatement

just back from alykanas again and once again the food at dionysos was excellent.we ate at dionysos about 4 times and never had a bad meal.we tried the ponderosa in alykes one night and the food was disgraceful,burn't offerings, avoid this place.kostas restaraunt next to dionysos was also very good for food and the service was very good.as for the people who write negative comments about the food and staff at dionysos, i am at a loss to explain why they don't like it perhaps they have the same problems when they eat at restaraunts here,in which case a bit of inward reflection would not go amiss.ignore the negetives and you will be very happy with your meals.

We went here on our first night as it had been rated so high, food was ok but i think it has been slightly over rated! how ever the service was great and we went back fo some more mozerella bread sticks! they were soooo tasty! I think they had addictives in!LOL

Suprised at how highly rated Dionysos is on here. Average at best.

How can all the people say it is an excellent restaurant - Its not.  You may as well go to your local Brewster’s / Brewers Fayre. The food is nothing special, the staff are arrogant kids who seem to think they are above everyone. The " Free " taxi ride costs 5 Euros from the hotel and by your 2nd night you will have had enough of Dionysos because you will have leaflets shoved at you on the Beach, Round the pool and when you leave the hotel at night.

 We tried Poseidon restaurant - On left hand side next to liquor store and before the Greasy sorry Greedy Greek. Staff + Food excellent and welcome kids with open arms.

Dionysos is a fine resturant to eat whils in zante, the waiters are great eapesially bill as we ate there most breakfast times and on the odd night. Safe Play area for the kids and food is better than most tasted in zante and dont forget to ask bill for the bill "ha ha"

  Ate here on first night & had a good meal.  After this, whenever we walked by, the waiters always acknowledged us.  This is a long established, Family run Restaurant, you will find it next to Alkyonis Taverna, town side of Busters Bar.  Only ate here the once due to having acquired a list of Restaurants to try from Just Zante.com.  In Alykanas, you can eat in a different Restaurant every night for a fortnight & still not get round them all !!

heard about this however it was closed the night we wanted to go so we went to medousas instead..shame i think it would of been better.

  We have never stayed there but I had a good look around last June just before it opened. It looks fantastic!!

I ATE HERE EVERYDAY FOR THE 5 MONTHS I WAS HOLIDAY REPING IN ALYKANAS, THE FOOD WAS VERY TASTY, MT FAVOURITE WAS BEEF STIFADDO THE MEET JUST MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH! I LOVED GETTING WAITED ON BY THE 2 GORGEOUS BROTHERS, NICOS AND SAKIS, I MISS IT SO MUCH I'M GOING BACK FOR 2 WEEKS HOLIDAY IN JULY 2005, HELLO TO SAKIS AND NIKOS XXX

we tried all the 10/10 eateries on this database and came to the conclusion that the dionysos is easily the best food in the resort. my girlfriend and i had steaks of various types ie peppered etc and the chicken in mushroom sauce and pepper sauce too. the dessert menu is spot on too.
service was good and the two waiters on duty on the nights we were there were faultless.

Tried this restaurant one evening after eating previously at the Mantelena and what a disappointment. My wife had ordered what was supposed to be spicy hot chicken wings as a starter and turned out to be 3 chicken wings in a sort of bolognese sauce. I ordered the seafood rice after reading about it in a previous comment and I'm still trying to find the seafood apart from a few tuna flakes. { there were also 3 prawn heads in the dish but only one prawn. }

Have just returned from our holiday, visited Dionysos as we had heard from this site how good it was! The service was poor, the food was'nt anything exciting.Poor facilities for children the play equipment was broken. We were very dissapointed, as we were looking forward to a Greek evening,never mind the wine was good!!.

My family & I have visted this taverna numerous times since it first opened and we have never had a bad meal yet. The service has always been second to none. All the food is freshly prepared every day. I would definitely recommend this taverna.

I thought Dionysos was overrated & overpriced & with average food, compared to the many other excellent restaurants nearby. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad night .....?

We've been to Alykanas many times and have eaten here on may, many occasions and have never had a bad meal yet. We have always found the staff very professional and friendly and are always greeted like long lost friends. We have tried many of the traditional greece dishes and in particular enjoy the Pork & Lamb Dionysos, Steak & Chicken Scarlet (invented by Soula the mother) and the Kleftico which is fantastic.
The staff seem to stay from year to year and this year Yianni (from the Zanzibar) and little Arrice are now working here. When we were last there at the end of August Sakis had moved into the supermarket that they have built next door and Nikos is in charge in the Taverna.
Needless to say we have already booked for next year in May & August.

Ate here a couple of times and both the food and value for money were good.The couple of cats were a bit irritating some times but went if you ignored them. The kebabs and the Lamb Kleftiko I can recommend.

Me and my husband really enjoyed this restaurant, the food was exvcellent and so was the service!! Really cheaply priced too. Food was excellent! Well worth a visit here. Dont go if you dont like stary cats and kittens hanging around you!!!!

to name just a few of the meals worth trying are the lamb dionisos , the sea food rice is out of this world if you like shell fish my 10 year old loved the spaghetti bolognese a big plate for a kids portion and only 3.50 euro and everyone enjoyed the chicken kebabs we took comments from this web site and were not dissapointed , just returning the favours by putting my comments on for future we`ll deffinately be going back

Ate there one our 1st night and really should have gone back again as the food was excellant. Service was very quick and the prices were very reasonable. There are so many other restaurants that we decided too try a different one every night but i must say this one was one of the best.

If you want somewere to eat with good food and good service try this place . We ate with a family of 5 and ate a three course meal for around 60 euro wich we thought good value for money they even give us a bottle of wine free on our last night , lovely resteraunt with great friendly staff well deserved 10 out of 10

Hi. My Husband Neil and I will be arriving at Alikanas beach studios for 2wks on August 1st. We are both in our late twenties and from Scotland. We are very much looking forward to my holiday and even more now after reading some of the good reviews. We look forward to seeing those of you who will be there at the same time. WE ATE AT DIONYSOS A NUMBER OF TIMES AND NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL.ON ONE VISIT THE MEALS WERE A FEW MINUTES LATE BUT THIS WAS BECAUSE ONE STEAK HAD BEEN ORDERED MEDIUM AND THE CHEF THOUGHT THAT AI WAS A BIT WELL DONE FOR MEDIUM AND SO COOKED A NEW STEAK.ENOUGH SAID I THINK.

10 out of 10. Superb food, superb service and the prices were reasonable too. My family and I have no complaints about this restaurant, it can't be that bad as we've been eating there since it first opened! Keep up the good work.

Dennis, if you are reading this...drop the ridiculous cover charge of 1 Euro per person. A family of 4 like mine will not go so often as most other places only charge the adult or the table.

we never actually went here but diana kept goin on @ us to go there one night (she stands outside alykanas village) but she will keep goin on to go until u actually go there!! but the ppl are very nice

The food was nice , well prepared and the waiters are nice - some quite good looking!! Not my favourite of the restaurants in Alikanas, but worth a visit.

This restaurant is consistently good and the staff are charming. Never had a bad meal in probably 20+ visits.

We went here the first two nights of our holiday attracted mainly by the play area and the early bird menu which once you look around at the standard prices in other restaurants isn't that great. We tried stifado, kleftiko and moussaka among others and they were good but not great. Switched to the Mantalena where we ate for the rest of the holiday as the food is wonderful and it has a play area too.

This Resturant is Excellent. Food is fantastic and the staff are excellent and very friendly, especially the owner. Childrens play area is a god send. The girl who stands outside the Alykanas Village is very plesant too. She gave us info on where to visit on the island when we hired a car.(Thanks)
Didnt see anyone smoking in the Kitchen.It looked very clean to me. Sometimes I think some people have to have a moan just for the sake of it.
Best resturant in Alykanas.And thats the truth!!!!

This restraunt was very average - the food was ok but the staff werent that friendly and where we sat we clearly saw the kitchen staff smoking whilst cooking the meals in the kitchen which I find disgusting despite being a smoker myself. I realise they dont have the same laws as we do but this was enough to put us off going again.

we have just returned from a week in Alykanas, it was our first time to Greece and it will certainly not be our last if this holiday was anything to go by! This was by far our favourite place to eat.. the food was fantastic everytime(Lamb Dionisos & Stuffed Chiken esp) and the portions were great. However the factor that excels this place has to be the service... All the staff are friendly and so helpful even when they are not working! The English girl I think called Luci was very accomadating and makes each and every customer feel very welcome.. any problems ask her!! The owner sakis was the same! See you all next year! keep up the Good Work Guys!

we ate at dionysos a few times and enjoyed every time. the food was to a high standard and very tasty! the service was wonderful and the staff very friendly and helpful, dennis especially was very friendly, also very pleasing on the eye!....we are returning to alykanas in june this year and without a doubt will eat at dionysos again...not just to see dennis i may add! great food, great service and geat value for money....go and enjoy!

best place to eat here is the wooden verandah . Had the kleftico ,it was delicious . pizzas,souvlaki and the fish are tasty too .

By far the best restaurant in Alikanas village! Excellent food, excellent service and very reasonably priced. Some of you complain about the standard of hygiene...how many of you eat in Indian/Chinese restaurants in England...enough said!!

We visited the much praised Dionysos restaurant and found it to be just average. Yes the staff are friendly,and it was the only place where we got an option of smoking or non-smoking (very rare in Greece it seems). The portions are big which is a bonus. My husband had a salmon steak which virtually filled the plate on its own. I had lamb chops which very very tough and chewy and therefore I couldn't eat them. We did not go back a second time. We also had to ask for the bill a few times before we received it

The Staff are so friendly and welcoming they made us feel so welcome.

My favorite meals at the resturant have to be Chicken Scarlet(Chicken Flamegrilled In Brandy & Creme Sauce)& Mixed Soulvaki(Kebab)

The only bad point about the Dionysos is that they did`nt have any Special Gyros(Pork Kebab) which has to be my favorite greek plate of all time. But I still rate this as the best Resturant in Alykanes, well worth a vist!

We have been coming for many years and always enjoy our meals here... it is a fantastic restaurant with friendly staff and great food! As one gentleman mentions... (several times below)unfortunatly there are rats throughout the whole of Zakynthos... but this is due to the climate and the other conditions!! CERTAINLY NOT due to any hygiene problems in this restaurant or any other in the area!! You may see the odd rat outside. This restaurant appears to be very clean- just look in the kitchen and you'll see! As to the gentleman who keeps adding the comments about the rats..... "get a life or at least another hobby!!!"

dont know about cats but it has rats. dont sit at back of restaurant if sight of rats running around upsets you. we had to leave one evening because of this problem.

Great place to eat and really good service. Would not miss this place if you go to the island.

Spot on! Nice place and great food. Free transport around the resort. A definite must for any visitor.
