The hotel is in a lovely location, the staff were extremely friendly and the little dog that was there for the first few days of our stay was sooooooooooooooooo cute! really enjoyed my week ther! heya to the lads from sheffield next door 2 us!

10 friendly guys are staying at Alkyonis Hotel in Laganas during the first week of August - any suggestions as to where to eat, drink and which are best clubs/late bars?  Just want to chill in the day and have some fun in the evenings.  Any inside knowledge?

IT'S ME AGAIN JUST WANTED TO SAY, I'VE SEEN TOM NAKED AND IT'S A VERY NICE SITE! I GO BACK 12TH OF JUNE WHICH IS 2 AND A HALF WEEKS AWAY AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING HIM NAKED AGAIN!

This is Helen and Elaina we stayed at marinos apartments september 12th-18th 04' but had some good nights in alkyonis bar! staff were very helpful and polite had some good laughs and some lovely cocktails off tom ;) went with my aunty vonny and uncle pete who are regulars at the bar been going for past 8 years! this year will make it nine! i'm going back in june with my cousin lisa and decided we are going to stay at this hotel this time! tom this ones for you.. watch out for the stool behind the bar! *hint hint* ..lol :P and have u finished that swimming pool yet!!! i thought u was going to email me!!!!!!!!!! anyway c u in june! and to other people stay at this hotel cuz its really good! xxxx

EH UP ITS KEL AND JACKIE ERE, OR SHOULD I SAY "GIRLS TO LOUD"...LOL.HAD A GR8T HOLIDAY AT THE ALKYONIS, ALL THE STAFF WERE COOL, GET TOM TO SEND US A COCKTAIL, (SEX ON THE BEACH THAT IS)!!!! BUT WE MUST SAY TOM.... STAF IS FITTER THEN U X X X X LOL

We thought that the Alkyonis was brill. We have been on 5 other Freestyle holidays and this was by far the best yet!! Neil the rep was fab. He seemed to really know his stuff. Very helpful. Going back again next year.

Dis place was brill, everyone was v friendly. D breakfast was a bit crap. We only got up4it the first few days and decided dat it wasn't worth gettin up for it again. Bt that is d only bad thing i can say bout this hotel. Tom d barman is very lovely and makes nice cheap cocktails. if neone wants to kno wot he and his 4mates are like naked den jus ask coz i've seen dem all!lol!Nightlife in zante is amazing and we normally came home at bout 4 or 6 and quite often tom&his mates were still up for chatting etc........;)

This is the second year i have been here and i want to go back again next year!!!
The family who own the hotel are soo friendly and are always smiling!!! The receptionist tassia is always willing to help, whereas the two barmen tom and dennis are great and make tasty cocktails that are very cheap. There also a bit of a ladies man too!!!
The reps carlo and neil dont disturb you unless you want them to and they are both a great laugh!!!
If you want to have a fantastic holiday you should stay at this hotel, but come on, it is a freestyle holiday so there is bound to be noise!!!xxx

Hey! Stayed at Alkyonis 14th May for one week, had a great time. Hotel pretty basic, but clean enough and staff friendly. At one point we did have a colony of ANTZ but think we may have brought these with us from London. The bar opposite is quite noisy, especially during 'siesta time'. Strongly recommend Laganas and the Alkyonis, 20 minute from main strip, 5 minute taxi ride! We'll be back on 17th September!

my friend and i stayed at this hotel in may 2004.myself personally i thought the hotel was excellent. It was in a great location to all amenities. The family who ran this hotel were great especially tom the barman. Although his way with the ladies could be improved.hoping to visit this hotel again in the very near future. love to u all michelle in burton on trent england in the midlands.

I cant believe people are moaning about this place not being quiet! Its a Freestyle hotel! I had a wicked time, Freestyle reps Sean / Jon, were tops, The Boat Party even better and as for Cherry (Cheesy) Bay say no more ...

I WOULD A PICTURE OR SOME INFO ON ALKYONIS IN ZANTE

My partner and i stayed at the Hotel Alkyonis for 2 weeks and got back yesterday. we loved it here so much so that we're going back next year.
The Family that owns the hotel are very friendly and helpful and the bar and reception are open 24/7 cheap drinks at the bar 2 euros for one of toms fantastic cocktails!
You can hire fans and air conditioning. The rooms don't have a fridge in them but you can hire one for 20 euros a week. Everyone keeps moaning about not having a shower curtains but it is very rare in greece to have them, we did have one but it didn't make much difference the floor still got wet so it doesn't really matter if you have one or not!
The hotel is in a brilliant location about 15-20 mins away from the main strip, 2 mins from the pool and 5 from the beach.
Linda who runs the bar at the Anna studios just behind the hotel alkyonis and opposite the splish splash pool is lovely, she's very knowlegable and very funny and makes great food!

Returned from a 2 week holiday - staying at the Alkyonis hotel 1st September. - ages 33, and 40

Hotel is as it is advertised, basic, but very clean, rooms are cleaned every day. Greeks don't appear to have shower curtains, so bathroom floor gets wet.

We hired air conditioning 35 euro's per week, which is a must, as the humidity is so high. - don't bother hiring fans, as all they do is move the hot air round!

We didn't see the Thomson rep at all (apart from on, and off the coach to / from the Airport) - Mind you that was our choice, so no fault of his!.

restaurant next door to the hotel (on way to beach) was good, food was excellent, and staff couldn't be more helpful. They also got the bill as soon as you asked for it (some restaurants keep you waiting for up to 45 mins for bill - so they look busy!)

We didn't spend much time in hotel, as beach is only 2 mins away, and main part of town is only a 10 min walk along the beach.
main pain in the evening, is the constant hassle as you walk along the beach from people employed to get you to eat in their restaurant, although a polite "sorry already eaten" usually saw them off.

Pubs and clubs are good,(bars open until 3.00am every day, and some clubs open till 8.00am at the weekend!).

we used to cool down at the Fishery Inn on the beach after the 10min walk, it has air con, and gives you the chance to dry out, has all the european footie games, and pool tables (has nice looking bar staff as well (female) - Say Hi to Tracey, and Mel).
Large Amstel beer was 1.5 Euro

Main chill out place on the main street was the "Must" sports bar, which has cheap beer, and 11 TV screens, large, and small screens, which means that it was the best bar for watching the Footie,(watch 3 different games at once!) as well as watching all the talent go up and down the main street!.

Cherry Bay was the best club we went to, and drinks prices seemed reasonable, be careful about some of the beer prices on the main street, as at places like Zero's you will be charged 3 euro's for a SMALL Amstel (Twice the price for half the size!) - mind you still cheaper than back home!

Bset Chinese is Bee Gardens (on the main street, nearly opposite Cocktail's and Dreams bar), but be warned they don't have enough serving staff, so it takes a while to get your order, but the food is usually worth the wait! - expect to pay about 35 euro's for a beer, starter and main course for two).

Resort is lively, and has many different pubs / clubs and restaurants, which means that generally their is something to suit all tastes somewhere on the main street

Oh and it was very, very, Hot (late 90's - low 100 degrees most days) - even at 3.00pm in the afternoon! - you lose at least a pint and a half of water in perspiration each day!).

me and me mate debs went to Laganas from aug 11th to aug 18th and we loved it. Had been a bit panicked by some of the reports on here but was the best hol have ever had. We stayed in the hotel Alkyonis and was brilliant. The staff are lovely, food ain't bad and best of all location is bout ten mins from the strip but far enough away to get a good kip :o) don't worry bout the pool as is one two secs away and beach is better anyway. Just buy a couple of lilos like we did. reps are pretty crap but just tell them u'r not bothered and they leave you alone. happy holidays to all :o)

We stayed here for 2 weeks and we loved every minute of it!! The family that owns it are really friendly and really easy to get on with. It is a really clean and well looked after place, and with out a doubt would go back tomorrow! They don't have a pool but there is 2 right around the corner, one where a british lady called Linda is brill! You wont be dissapointed!

We are travelling to Lagana, Zante in Sept/Oct 2003 on a price breaker and are told we are likeley to be in three hotels, Alkyonis, Gioie De Mare or Lagana. Reading some of the comments on Alkyonis - Can anybody suggest any good points?????

i think the hotel is great, really close to the beach. shame there isnt a pool but who needs it when the sea is soooooo close i loved it. ps i f you want really cheap flights call lacey at cheapest flights on 08707580909

we stayed at the alkyonis and found it clean and tidy all the staff was freindly and helpfull.it isnt the place to go if you like your sleep like me !! but overall we had a good time.go to the toad in the hole just up the road for food its great .

loved it especially tom's willy which we have photos of to show anyone interested. catherine kelly also has a photo and good memories of a smiling face first thing in the morning!!!!!hint hint dennis u smiler. babis u r one sexy momma. despite bevs antics behind the bar. the best time to go is when debs is there. she is so funny. dont forget to visit viva bar for packages, shots and free rides in yellow porches. see u all next year cant wait to visit the turtles and bats. love us x

We booked a room in this hotel as it was quite cheap for 1 night as we wanted to have a little sleep as our coach was picking us up at 3am in the morning for our flight back home. We could not get any sleep as of the noise coming from the place opposite was so loud and it carried on past 1am in the morning so if your looking for somewhere quiet to stay then this is not the place for you. The room was clean but the shower had no holder on the wall so you had to hold it above you which was very awkward and the floor just got flooded with water which was not good. Stay at Zante Park just a minuites walk away which is where we stayed for 2 weeks we had no noise at all in the room where we stayed I wished we paid the extra now so we could have had some sleep!

this place is cool to stay at, pretty basic though. full of young people out for a good time, don't expect much sleep if thats what you need

I have been twice and both times it was fabby - hoping to go back this year. Hotel was very clean, no pool but the beach is only 2 minutes away which is great. Good cocktail bar across the road - strong cocktails but you'll remember them. Restaurant next door is also good. I'm sure you'll have a fabby time if you go.
