GREAT DAY OUT FOR ALL

WENT ON THE PARAGLIDE,THE RINGS AND THE PEDALO BEST BEACH ON THE ISLAND
ONLY FAULT 4 EUROS FOR THE SUN LOUNGERS IS A BIT DEAR

Tracey W

For gods sake, leave the poor girl alone!  Not only does she work alone, she goes beyond her job! I was there for a week every day and watched her work her backside off without taking a break. She not only does a great job in the bar but she helps numerous people every day with their questions and giving instructions and going out of her way to help people. She is always friendly and polite and not appreciated by people. I couldnt believe how rude people were to her!!!!!! Amanda - thanks for a great holiday and will see you next year!!! You made it great!!!!!

Ellen B

click to enlargeThis was the second time me and my boyfriend visited this beach, we were so impressed the first time we had to go back! The watersports here are fantastic and so much fun, but be prepared and take plenty of money as its a long way back to the hotels if you dont bring enough and cant do everything you want to! I recomend the Jet Skis!! The beach is very clean and the sea is chrystal clear. It has everthing you need for a great day. If your reading this and havnt been yet the comment below is correct. The cafe / resturant at the right hand side of the beach up the steps is much CHEAPER, less wasps and less bar staff that look loke they have eaten one! Have fun!!!!

Amanda W

I apologise if you found me not to your liking.  I work on my own in this very busy beach bar and sometimes i have to ask customers to hang on a minute for me.  I not only serve all the customers by myself, but also handle the visting boats drinks and the different group's free bars that we run.  One person can only do so much and if i seem fratchy, its nothing against any of the customers. It just means that i am extremely busy and unable to give the service i want to and normally provide which frustrates me. I try and help everyone that comes up to me and sometimes it is just impossible to do ten things at once but i am a very courteous person who takes pride in her fantastic job.  Thanks for your custom and hope to see you again next year.

Laura B

I used to be a rep in Zante and this was my favourite beach because it was so relaxed and in a lovely place.  The beach itself is still great and loads of watersports to choose from.  There were literally hundreds of wasps which bugged me a bit but I think that's from everyone leaving drinks lying around etc.

The only thing that disappointed me was the barmaid, Mandy, as detailed in some other people's comments she is SO RUDE.  When you go to the bar you expect a smile and some friendly banter which is what most of the bars in Zante provide.  When one of my group said "Excuse me what bottled beers do you sell" her response was "Can you not see I am busy? And my name is not excuse me."  If I hadn't had a headache from being in the sun all day I would have given her a piece of my mind.  I can see that she has commented below and I would be interested to see what excuse she gives for this awful level of service.

I go to Zante regularly and I love St Nicholas beach but I would recommend walking to the other bar/restaurant at the opposite end of the beach, up some steps, where the staff are friendly and warm towards paying customers - something that this bar clearly lacks.

I would also like to point out that the staff at the snack bar are very nice and friendly, but it is slightly overpriced

Spent a day at St Nicks beach last week during our stay in Zante. We had a great time and would like to say a special thank you to the ladies and gentlemen from the Padi Diving School. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable and were exceptionally good with both my Wife and Daughter who were initially a bit unsure about being under the water. They took great care to ensure that we were safe and made the whole experience very very enjoyable.

We would also like to thank the guys from the Watersports hire who made mine and my daughters first ever experience of a Jet Ski a lot of fun. Although she spent most of the time screaming into my back, she ensures me that she really did enjoy it.

A great experience and something that we will definately be back for again next year. To the guys at the Padi Center, we will almost certainly be looking to come back and do the full course with you.

Thank you from Ken, Sam and Lee Alder.

Tracy C

We were very disappointed with this place. Went on Banana boat which was EUR10 each and you were out for only 5 minutes and it was so boring - never got to fall off as driver of boat very sedate!!!!

Sandy R

click to enlargeHi Everyone. Back in grey old England now! Did a try dive on Wednesday 16th Aungust 2006, was terrified, but the divers made it a fantastic experience and I would definately do it again. Thankyou all so much for a fab day.

I apologise if you found the service not to your liking. Our policy is to send people to the right of the snack bar where the public telephone is located which is what I do about 20 times a day. I also add to this to ask the girls in the snack bar for any further help needed.  As you are aware, we are a very busy beach bar and I, personally try to help everyone that comes up to me. We are a very good team here and serve and help many people every day. Please feel free to view previous comments and pictures about me and the staff at the beach. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Zante.

Sean R

A big hello to everyone at St Nicholas padi dive centre. Tall Mike from Cannock, Mike the body, curvy "new car" Marie and not least John May, the best instructor a student could have.

Did a try dive at first. Liked it so much I did my open water course too, and what an experience. Loved every minute of it. Saw octopus, cuttlefish, fireworms, and about a thousand other cool critters. Can't express my gratitude enough to the team there. To say I had a fantastic time would be an understatement, and it really was one of the high points of the holiday.
If you're reading this before you go out there and are thinking of having a go, don't think about it, just do it. You'll love it.

Once again a huge thanks guys and see you next year (if not sooner)

Kelly W

hey to all the PADI guys there! it's the dancing welsh girls! my friend was really nervous bout diving (she has a fear of the sea) but i persuaded her to do it (cruel i know!) we thoroughly enjoyed it! we've got the DVD of us doing the macarena underwater to show everyone...very amusing! make sure you get a DVD, 35 euros but what a memory! thanks for your help in calming my mate down. these guys are pros, i felt very safe and the guys are funny and make the experience amazing! even dropped our DVD to our appartment in tsilivi as we ran out of time and had to leave...thanks  you've defo given me the diving bug! can't wait to do it again!

the beach is lovely...plenty of watersports but the sand is soooo hot you have to sprint across it! defo worth a visit!

The M

What a fantastic beach....took our 15 yr old son he loved it. You have got to take a seperate insurance out for water sports, as your holiday insurance does not cover you

Ewan W

After being on two thomson excursions allready in the week, and being let down by both, i wasnt to optimistic about the scuba diving. But to my suprise this was the highlight of my holiday! Never scuba dived before i was up for the challenge...and for my fiance, Jodie, she was terrified about it all! But thanks to the instructors they made it professional and fun at the same time. I was very pleased about the way they looked after Jodie and she managed to do the whole dive. Plus for a bonus they even managed to find an octapus for us to hold. Even tho the experience emptied my wallet it was worth every penny...only wish we was there longer so we could do the second dive!

Big Thanks Again Guys!!

Ewan + Jodie

Ash B

Excellent beach and views. Loads of watersports and diving. The only let down for us was the barmaid that is on the picture on the left below, called mandy i think. She was very rude to us although we were really nice to her, dont know if she was having a bad day but for whatever reason she was rude to me and my boyfriend. We also spent loads of money in the bar/cafe so you would think she would be at least curtious to us. We spent the day there and spent alot of money in the bar and when we asked her where we could get a taxi from she ignored us so we asked her again and she shook her head at us and said ask at the food bar if there is anyone still there. We only wanted to know where we could get a taxi from we would have walked back to laganas if we would have known it would have been so much trouble. Anyway apart from that lovely place, nice food, shame about the service.

Malcolm C

I did Scuba Diving at St Nicholas Beach and it was amazing its not the first time i,ve scuba dived i,ve done it in Thailand and Magaluf but never fed the fish and you are the only instructors who told me how to go up down left and right underwater so thankyou, to all the instructors at St Nicholas Beach i wont forget the experience.

Dorinda M

Just wanted to say what a fantastic time i had at st. Nicholas beach.

I am very scared of water as i can not swim however after an hour of GENTLE persuasion, John the diving instructure soon had me suited and booted, ready to go. My legs were shaking the whole time i was in the water but it was the best experience ever feeding those fish. In fact it has given me the confidence to book those swimming lessons and who knows come back and do the advanced dive with you soon.

John you are an absolute star, thank you again.

A huge thanks to mike, john and marie for the best time in my life, truly amazing, they are a fab team I felt completely safe and fair proud of myself. They are indeed the best, the photos and DVD were first class, NOT TO BE MISSED. Thanks guys, hope to see you in Arran, free b/b awaits. Regards to all  Eleanor

:

having never scuba dived before I was both apprehensive and excited.  The staff were brill and put me totally at ease to make the experience one of the best I've ever had.  Yes you are absolutely right....it is addictive.  Can hardly wait to try again.  Thanks so much for the introduction

Satnam C

Was the best ever experience ever. Scuba dived off the beach with the best pro's ever, mike, marie and john made our day. Love ya dudes,Bob and sat. email on wackysingh@hotmail.com if ya want, but they are the best diving school on the island in my eyes!!!

Bob C

St Nicholas WATER SPORTS was the best ever.  My wife & I did the scuba diving and were absolutlely bricking it!!  The instructors were very proffesional and understanding and made sure we were comfortable before we did the dive. I can only recommend their service and hope u enjoyed it as much as we did!!!!! Email me for q's if u want on newlighhtps@yahoo.co.uk cos I was so happy with their service that I will 'big em up'!!!!!!!!!!!!

John, Marie & Mike rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sharon O

Fabulous beach, buy yr own snorkelling kit about 6 euros and check out the fish!

Great watersports, lovely water and sand, meals cheap atthe bar too! Free bus from Avalon bar in argassi at 10-30 n morning brings you back at 5 from the beach. 4 euros each for sunbeds tho.

Tracey C

click to enlargeWhat a lovely beach - picture postcard perfect!  I spent my entire two weeks here it was so nice!  The owners of the Hotel and Beach Bar run a courtesy bus from two or three pick-up points in Laganas, Argassi and Kalamaki to St Nick's - it cost's you the price of hiring your sunbed (10 Euros for two beds n a parasol) but remember to keep your ticket!!  There's plenty of water sports for the more energetic and the snack bar serves delicious food.

The barmaid at the beach bar, Manda (on the left) looks after you very well too - she has lived out there for 4 years now and knows all the best places to visit for wonderful views and also all the best places to eat (Ethnic was my favourite in Argassi, especially the Jalepeno Poppers!!)

Hayley H

Fab beach, althought too hot to walk on-gutted!!

Was only brave enough to go on the banana boat(was my first time) and  appoligise to the poor people that were on it with me and had to listen to me and my friends shoutng 'We'r gona die' Sorry!!! Good fun tho!
And thanks to the safety guy that chucked us in at the end

Have fun if your going!!!! So jealous

Kelly B

My 5 year old son would like to come paragliding with me when we visit in September. Does anyone know if there are any age restrictions? He is the size of a 7 year old by the way!!!

Caroline B

this beach was lovely. even though we all burnt our feet walking down to the sea. all the staff were friendly . the food and drink was good. the  parasol were good for keeping some of the sun of us.

  14/7/05 - 21/7/05

Lisa A

Free bus to here leaves 10.30 from Argassi, but sometimes any time between 10 and 11!!!  Lovely beach and palm sunshades for those who don't want to be in the sun all day!! Beach bar great food and music, nothing else much around, apart from some Emus whilst waiting for bus to return!!

Janice R

Does anyone know where the Yakinthos Hotel is in Laganas, I think its on the outskirts but am not sure whereabouts. Would be grateful for some information

Fannie

Were in Zante in September with 3 friens.
Drove to St Nicholas beach one day and liked it
very much. It was such a nice beach, and there were plenty of watersports! So if you go to Zante you have to go to st nicholas!

Paul T

BE WARNED. IF YOU GO ON THE COURSTESY BUS IT IS A LONG DAY. You get there for about 10.30 and our bus back didnt turn up until 7.45PM !!!!!

You have to use their equipment to get the free bus back , even if its only the sun loungers.

Raymie D

I went to St Nics beach about 2 years ago & although the selection of watersports (which is great if your a adrenaline junkie like me) BUT the staff were not very helpful at all....

Very unsafe & put me & my girlfriends life at risk

Paul S

Excellent beach, though as it's one of the 'in' places it does get busy. Good for watersports and the Taverna at the southern end does good food.

Sam P

A big hello to all the boys down at St. Nicks dive centre, once again I'd like to thank you for looking after me and my friends when we did our try dive, it was the best part of our holiday and more than worth the money.
We would like to send an extra big thank you to John who was our dive leader, the photos are excellent!!
We all send our love.

Sam, Tracy, Emma, Charlie and Holly XxxX

Diane O

hello, i hope you can help me, i am staying in Windmill studios,Argassi and was wondering where the cloest PADI diving centres were for my daughter to complete an open water diving course. my husband an myself completd it last year in jamacia but we dont know how here??? can u help?????

Sandra P

Gorgeous beach. Good range of water sports. My son went on the rings(25 euro for 2 people). I went into the speed boat and was able to take some really good photos. Reasonably priced sunbeds, 8euro for 2 beds with sun shade. They even serve drinks and food direct to your sunbed.

Sam S

The best all-round beach we have found on zakynthos, the best sand, comfy beds, clean water, a good snack bar and lots of water sports. Go there!

Jo E

For all the people that say its a free bus, maybe you should learn to read better, it does actually say that it is a coutersy bus for CUSTOMERS, which means that if you give them your custom you will get a free bus ride home, do you understand now stupid. Great beach guys and the scuba is great. Will definatly be there again

Barry P

ME AND MY OTHER HALF CAME OUT HERE LAST YEAR AND HAD A GREAT TIME DOING WATER SPORTS AND RELAXING IN THE SUN WE HAD A GREAT TIME THEN AND IT WAS JUST AS GOOD THIS YEAR, ALL THE STAFF WERE FREINDLY AND VERY SAFTEY MINDED

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST BEACH ON THIS ISLAND VERY CLEAN AND TIDY

MUST BEEN SEEN !!!

Simon D

Only the 1st and 2nd times that I have ever scuba dived.
The training from the staff was simply and straightforward.
Feeding the fish underwater was well worth it.

Zante C

i went jet skiing here and found it very well organised and safe, paid 45 euros for 15 mins (with two on the jet ski) so not great value for money. the actual beach was clean and peaceful but a bit small, the bar nearby was nice but a little overpriced compared to my own pool bar. there is a free bus which if going to argassi is usually overcrowded but if going to laganas is quite empty so a seat is guaranteed.

Emma R

Beautiful beach! If you like the hustle bustle but not with too many people you will like this beach. Very clean, soft sand, crystal clear water so great visibility for seeing the fish. Scuba diving was fantastic and over far too quick for me. If you like life in the fast lane try the jet ski's or even the ringo rides, a day never to forget!!!

Andy S

Great beach,in a nice part of the island.Good snack bars there, which are reasonably priced.Would certainly recommend the rocked area to the right hand side of the bay for snorkelling, plenty to see in a safe area.Plenty of watersports on hand.Certainly worth a visit!!

Keith P

A very good beach with well organised water sports. The worst bit was the state of the toilets - they were disgusting on both days we visited.

Keith P

Thw water sports here are second to none in the vicinity. Beach is great and the snack bar is reasonable too. Get the coutesy bus from Argassi at 10.30 - pay 4 euro's for each sunbed - this will give you your return coach ticket at 5.00pm. Perfect!!!

Laura

It was the best beach there! There were sunbeds that you could lye on for around four euros which isnt bad. The sand is lovley and golden bu very hot! Clear sea aswel! There were wicked boats aswel where you could slide off on slides! Its a really fun day out!

Sophie L

Well worth a visit, even if you don't want to do the water sports. We went diving and it was amazing! the guys there really look after you so theres nothing to worry about. It is such an experience to go diving and seeing all those fish!

Kate K

We thought this place was excellent, really recommend trying the waterskiing. However prices were a little steep for the amount of time you spent on each activity, but still worth it. There is a free bus that picks you up from laganas at 10.00am and returns again at 5.00pm.

Jodie E

This beach is brilliant if u'r after both water sports and swimming. Unfortunately we were staying in Tsivili so the only way we could get there was to hire a car or moped but its well worth it. We went jet skiing for 30euros - don't go scuba diving bit of a con (we were snorkling in the same place as them and saw exactly the same stuff as them so take a snorkel and mask!! Sun loungers are 4 euros each but nice as they have shades with them. Good bar too.

Eeva E

HI Yannis! We're the girls from Finland, who were there sailing (anchored in front of the beach.. you helped us many times during our stay) last week. Thanks for drinks and paraschuting! it was great. take care!

Fiona C

my group came to visit the watersports to do paragliding and to do the donuts, we stayed at the louis imperial beach hotel next beach down.
everyone loved the sports except for me i hated it but that was my own fault. i was on the donuts screamed all the way, fell off lost my bangle in the water and the guy in the boat brought us in to get goggles, and took us back to the spot were i fell off to try and find it, a little boy went down and he found it, i was really chuft with that, then the drove us round to our beach in the speed boat, best taxi ever! just want to say a big thankyou for finding my bangle. thanks again fiona craig xxxxx june 2003

Nick L

Great beach and friendly staff. It is though VERY expensive. We had two jetski's out at 30 Euro's for 15 minutes.....and they time it with an atomic clock i think - not a second over !
to have two on a jetski it was 45 euros. Pedalo's were 10 for an hour. The use of two loungers and parasol was 8 for the day.

To their credit, I thought it was clean and tidy and the Jetskis are extremly powerful.

Lulubell B

One word - FAB. Paragliding was the best feeling ever. With such a friendly atmosphere.

Kerrie B

i think the beach is great me and my family enjoyed our day there, the watersports are great. we will definately be going back there this year.

Michelle D

St Nick's beach is definitly one of the best on the Island of Zante. We always enjoy our days here and the watersports are plentiful and are reasonably priced. The Restaurant serves very nice food, again at good prices.

Loz H

Very nice beach with a great taverna up on the rocks. Only trouble was getting the bus from Argassi to here - scrum down and push your way on !! Lovely sea, crystal clear, but some seaweed spoilt it a bit

Toni C

A nice beach and place to visit but if ya got kids then ya might find it difficult to entertain them here. Only a couple of bars here and the main one by the entrance on the left as ya come in seems to be best.Only had a drink here but its impressive wooden building to say the least. The Girl who served us was polite and helpfull taking some pics for us. If ya thinking of going on Jetskis take LOADS of money cos they are 45 euros for 15 minutes for two people. The rocks out by the church are good for snorkelling and ya can sunbathe on them but they are rough.

Laura W

The beach was lovely - but the hygiene of the toilets leaves a lot to be desired - floaters! I also had a problem getting back onto the pedalo after I go off - I had to be rescued by the water police! Great beach though - be careful of hot sand - i got 3rd degree burns.

Lorna S

was a good beach but my experience there was not so good. unless you get there early enough to get a sunbed WITH shade, you will not enjoy the day as you will just BAKE. the sea seems a lot saltier than at other beaches (was this just my imagination or is this possible?!!) and everyone sems so ood at volleyball! damm those greeks!

Judith E

we came here on an excursion as my husband went scuba diving. What a full day! He went scuba diving in the morning. Then he and my 11year old son went para-gliding, i was even allowed in the speedboat to the platform so i could film the whole thing! Went on the banana boat and on the rings! Fab day - take lots of money if you want to have a go on everything. It was good to have showers as well.

Shelley-marie T

The watersports here are excellent. Very expensive compared to anywhere else on the island. Drink and food was a bit to much and paying 8 Euros for a sun lounger was a bit steep. Price of a pedlo for half an hour was much more then we had payed in kalamaki for an hour. Make sure you do try the paragliding though. There is a free bus that goes from Laganas, Kalamaki and Argassi so i wouldnt go with your reps seen as they charge you to get on the same free bus.

Annie G

Nice beach, worth going too. Free bus there and back.

Michael O

Brilliant Scuba Diving - Does anyone know how to get in touch with the greek pretty girl behind the bar in 'The Wreck' Bar - She's Gorgeous - Please post an e-mail address for her if you know.

Jenny M

My husband and I were on Zakynthos at the end of May begin June 2001. On our trip to St Nicholas beach we enjoyed the scuba diving. However, when we returned to the UK we found that we had paid 20 pounds for someone else's filmed scuba dive. Very disappointing. This is the first time I have been able to contact the beach to let them know. We had a great holiday overall, just disappointed about our video.

Gemma S

This is a fab beach my uncle owns half of the diving center and it is the best experience ever i really recomend it.To be able to swim with the fish etc is great and zanty over all is wicked

Heather G

SUPERB!!! - WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?? PREVIOUS COMMENT SADLY CORRECT - SOME VERY SELFISH PEOPLE ON RETURN BUS - ALLOWING VERY YOUNG CHILDREN TO TAKE A SEAT WHEN THEY COULD VERY EASILY HAVE SAT ON PARENTS LAP - MEANING THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAD TO STAND INCLUDING SOME HOLDING YOUNG BABIES. WHY ARE PEOPLE SO SELFISH!!!!!

Emma W

We had a great couple of days sunbathing on St. Nicholas Beach. The ringos were amazing fun, and my brother and my Dad enjoyed the jet-skis. Although the watersports may seem quite expensive, I would recommend spending the extra as they are really good fun and worth the money. Emma Wood, 14 yrs

Chris F

A great place to go if you have active children who need a little more than lying by the pool. Book all your activities at the same time and negotiate a discount, the Greeks like a good barter.

Andy E

EXCELLENT BEACH. LOVELY SAND AND WATER. KIDS LOVED DIGGING IN THE SAND. SHOWERS AND HOSE AVAILABLE AND WOODEN WALKWAY. BAR ALSO NEAR THE BEACH WHICH DID FOOD. FREE BUS FROM AGASSI AND SUNBED HIRE PAID FOR THE RETURN. BUSES A BIT OF NIGHTMARE TO GET BACK ON AT THE END OF THE DAY, PEOPLE PUSHED AND SHOVED EVEN THOUGH I HAD A BABY IN MY ARMS.

Leanne S

we didn't know about the free bus service to the beach from kalimaki so we got a taxi for 5000 dr. (ABOUT £9) and got the free bus back in the afternoon. this was an extreamly busy beach and with its golden sand and fantastic water sports it was easy to see why. parasailing, ringos, jet ski plus much more provided for good prices. good fun but not the sort of beach to get away from it all.

Laurie A

Hire a car to get to this beach and the many others along the peninsula. Or get the bus. Big beach, very hot sand! Watersports expensive - rides on banana and ringos lasted for 6 minutes from start to finish - for £6 & £8 respectively. Take a parasol - or hire a beach one for quite a lot of money too. Good clean beach, clear water - and a shower to de - salt before you leave - which is an added bonus.

Kirsty V

the water sports were great!! & the value 4 money was good. we had a great few days there!!!!!!!

Andrew W

st nicolas was one of the best beaches i visited in zante and the water sports were excellent the staff were brilliant and i thoroughly enjoyed myself. prices: banana boat 3000 drs, rings 4000drs, scuba diving 10000 and jet skis 10000 for 15mins.

Andrew W

a brilliant beach with all water sports, there was a free bus from the wreck bar so check that place out too.
